The Torment of Saint Anthony by Michelangelo Buonarroti was painted in 1487 (15th century) and is now located in the permanent collection at the Kimbell Art Museum. The medium of this painting is oil and tempera paint on one of only four surviving panels by Michelangelo. The painting depicts demonic creatures attacking Saint Anthony while being surrounded by a very tranquil terrain.
