...Leander Kinchen CHMN 201 – [C01] 02/23/2015 Spiritual Gifts Paper PART ONE: What are your top two spiritual gifts? Do you agree with the results? Why or why not? According to the assessment my two dominant spiritual gifts were Administration (23) followed by exhortation (18). I have to say based on the explanations that I agree. I know that God has called me to pastor a ministry one-day and I Currently serve in my local church as a lay minister. I agree with the assessment, as I am usually the first one to organize others to accomplish task and projects and make sure things get completed. I am also looked upon as a motivator at times when we have face challenges in the ministry. I currently serve as the Praise and Worship leader and have often wondered why this exhortative attitude seems to come so naturally. Although I can probably be labeled an introvert, when I am operating in these gift people never seem to notice how terrified I am inwardly. I have always attributed this to God being the one doing it and not myself. PART TWO: Specifically, how can you use your gifts at this time? How might you misuse your gifts? Be specific. The gift of administration is most evident when there is a task or project to complete. Whether it's putting together our music ministry or even planning the events for men’s ministry I usually always take the lead and design a plan that will get the job accomplished in the allotted time. Also in the same areas I am usually the coach...

...Allan Ritch CHMN 201-D01 LUO March 31, 2014 Spiritual Gifts Paper PART ONE: What are your top two spiritual gifts? Do you agree with the results? Why or why not? My two dominate spiritual gifts as determined by taking the “Spiritual Gifts Analysis” on www.churchgrowth.org are (1) Administration and (2) Exhortation. I completely agree with this assessment. Having been in the administration field most of my adult life, in one capacity or another, I see that this gift has had an influence upon me. I am definitely a take-charge type of person when it comes to something that I am enthusiastic and passionate. The analyses pointed out that people with this gift tend to count on others to take care of the small details and are gifted delegator. I am definitely that type of person in most situations. I do not like to micro-manage others or be micro-managed. I tend to take on many tasks myself just so I can control the outcome and results. I tend to lack patience at times when a detailed explanation is required and expect that others already know how and what the goals are. The gift exhortation is a direct complement to administration. While administration directs and organizes, exhortation teaches, counsels, and encourages. I have not always seen this gift within my character, although as I look back I can see that this gift has been in the development stage for quite some time. The analysis advises against interrupting people and allowing pride to be the primary motivator...

...“How we can Encourage Others to Dedicate Their Giftedness in Serving Others.” It is my personal belief that we all have been born with gifts and talents. Some of us have the ability to sing, dance or play an instrument. Some of us are gifted with a natural instinct to help and encourage people through tuff times. Others are gifted with the natural ability to light up a room with charisma or cause people to burst with laughter at an instant. Regardless of background, pedigree or age I believe we all have gifts from God. These gifts were given to us to use for the exhortation of God and the building of his kingdom. Unfortunately we still have a major problem with getting people to lend their gifts to the house of God. Many people just don’t have an interest, or feel compelled to serve. They often times come to church year after year and do nothing. They have no interest what-so-ever to serve or assist in any capacity or manner within the ministry. No matter how many times we announce the need for ushers, greeters, children’s church teachers, camp counselors or choir members they have no desire to serve, even though they thoroughly enjoy the benefits of those ministries themselves. Someone once said people come to church with a SERVE-US mentality instead of a SERVICE mentality. This statement is truly echoed and brought to life when people are selecting churches in this modern day climate. People are no longer concerned about the mission of the church, the goals or the church or...

...Sherri L Hull CHMN 201-D05 04/07/2014 Spiritual Gifts Paper Part One: What are my top 2 spiritual gift? Do I agree with the results? Why or Why not? The top two spiritual gifts from my assessment were Administration and Teaching, with Pastor/Shepherd receiving the same assessment score. Based on my background in Purchasing and Job Costing, I would have to agree with the Administration score; however, Teaching and Pastor/Shepherd has me somewhat confused. The descriptions of each of these, and how they appear to go hand-in-hand does; however, make sense. According to the assessment descriptions, if a person scores high in Teaching but not in Pastor/Shepherding they probably would not make a good Sunday school teacher; therefore, receiving the same score arouses my curiosity what does God see something in me, that I do not. My position as a job costing supervisor has taught me to account for each material being used in the manufacturing industry. Along with my former purchasing responsibilities, both positions back up the assessment score in Administration. The assessment further defines my score in Teaching/Shepherding, as a person who enjoys research. At times this person can be technical. This would represent the details of any given work or research being done, everything needs an explanation. It also defines the person as one who needs to be accommodating when deadlines near and pressure increases. This skillset may become beneficial to the calling I believe...

...I believe that it is vitally important to develop and maintain a small group in my current ministry setting. As a youth pastor I feel that students need to have small group times to get to know their peers better and further their own relationship with Christ. Small groups would allow for students to open up to one another and express themselves. Students would be willing to open up and talk about current issues that they are facing. They could do this with other teens and the group leaders. I think that by having a small group it also allows the student to take what they are learning and then learn to apply it to their life. Having a group of individuals to talk with might help them in the application aspect of what they are learning. Putting together a successful small group ministry is tough but the ministry itself would be rewarding. One thing that I believe to be true is that, “the best ministry generally doesn’t occur during a group’s meetings so much as between the meetings.” –Carl George. Think about all the lives that could be reached by the disciples that are being created through a small group ministry. I could see the church growing drastically because of people going out and putting into action what they learned from a small group setting. Communicating with other believers is key to maintaining and nurturing your faith. If you look at Jesus he maintained a small group of 12 that were the disciples. Jesus taught them and strengthened their faith so that they...

...In January 2008, Department of Telecommunications issued 120 new licences for unified access services on the same day. These licences were issued at price which had been discovered in 2001. Issuance of 120 licences in just one day and at a price discovered in 2001 has drawn the attention of Media, Parliament and informed members of the civil society. Questions have been raised regarding the transparency in the allocation process and the failure in maximization of revenue generation from the allocation of spectrum, which is a national asset. This department had been receiving innumerable references from Members of Parliament and other sources repeatedly, questioning the allocation process and the price fixed for such allocation. The claim in each such reference is that ineligible applicants seem to have been granted licences and at a price which appeared far below what has been perceived to be the appropriate market price in 2008. It was in this context that this department felt that there was a sufficient justification to review the entire process of issuance of licences, award of spectrum and the implementation of the UAS regime. The need for doing so was further justified as six years have passed since the introduction of the UAS regime in 2003. While accepting the Government's prerogative to formulate the policy of UASL, it was felt that an in-depth examination of implementation of such policy needed to be done. (i) Gaps in policy implementation In August 2003 TRAI had submitted...

Seeking assistance in this profession is an important especially if they plan on continue counselor with the set clients. Often times even a therapist attends a counseling just to help sort out some emotions that might arise. 3.10 Gifts: This ethical code has to do with a therapist receive or giving gifts of substantial value, or a gift that might impair the integrity or efficacy of the therapeutic relationship (AAMFT). Often time’s clients want to show appreciation for the healings that they have experienced. Some of the time a simple thank you is not enough, in some cultures it is custom to give a gift. One suggestion that a therapist might try is to place the “no gift giving” in the informed consent. This way the client will have a hard copy of the understandings. ...there with some of the kids is like celebrating Christmas emphasizing the joy of loving and giving. The Christmas is in my heart; the nursing of those little kids, the playing with them, and the giving of gifts to them are just some of the affirmation of the true spirit of Christmas I felt while doing the service. Second, all that we have is indeed a great gift from our Loving Father. Through this activity, I’ve come to realized how lucky we are to have our loving parents with us in our lives. The kids made me more love my parents and appreciate every single thing they’re doing for us, their children. Third, these kids are not sinister instead they are so lucky. They are lucky for they have been saved from experiencing a more hurtful one and are now being taken cared of those people who are all so warm and caring. They are lucky for they have bunch of sisters and brothers who will heed them every time they needed them the most and unlike their parents, will never leave their side. Fourth, the true essence of love. Even if we just had a short time bonding with them, I had learned the true essence of love. That you can give your love even to those who you just met and make friends with. And that love is the best thing you can give to someone unconditionally. It is the greatest gift you can share with especially to those who is in need of it. Lastly, I’ve learned how intelligent...

...My Spiritual Gifts Part 1 [pic] Eunice T. Payne June 5, 2014 Revised August 13, 2014 INTRODUCTION When I was asked to go online and take a spiritual gift test my first thought was, (“Lord what the world is coming to”?) We really have to rely on the internet for everything these days?” Then I thought hey why not take it what can it hurt, I’ll go on and humor them. As I started to read the questions I felt like the questions needed more substance or needed to be worded differently; not realizing the devil was trying to discourage me from reading what I was about to find out. \ By the time I finished the test it read PASTOR, FAITH, GIVING. Each word had a meaning or explanation for each one. I looked real hard at “Pastor” and laugh then I called my son who is a minister and yes he’s from the old school like his momma. I said son I just took this test and explained to him what is was for. Of course he had the same reaction as I did when I was told about the site. He laughed. Well as we went on in conversation I gave him the end results and said now what I look like being a Pastor. I mean I have been around a lot of spiritual gifted people for most of my life and have been told by several that there’s an anointing on my life or that my light shines bright and have a spirit of victory, but never did I hear anyone say I would be a pastor or fit those shoes. Then a voice said you have been ministering to people young and old for over 20 years and you don’t...

...Gift Giving The human service field is a field of helping. When people are helping people, it is natural and in some cultural cases, required to offer gifts of appreciation. There are many fine lines that divide the boundaries of gift giving within the helping industry. The value of the gift must be considered, the policies of the agency that a helper is employed by as well as the expectations that could potentially be attached to that gift. Some agencies have policies that avoid this dilemma all together and state absolutely no gifts will be given or received from clients. Other agencies will state that in order to avoid any insults or culture disrespect, a helper is allowed to receive a gift and ensure the client that the agency thanks them and the gift will be shared with the staff. Gifts from clients can have many or no strings attached. Some gifts come genuinely from the heart and are simply a cultural way of thanking someone for their help. Other clients however could have an ulterior motive behind the gift and consider the acceptance of the gift from the helper an indication that their relationship just took a step in a different direction. Whether or not a helper has permission to accept a gift, they must have the knowledge and capability to identify the boundaries of each client and the gift. In the revised version of the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics, it states in section A.10.f. “Counselors understand the challenges of accepting gifts from clients...

...them; and they have the power to do this if the law, or rather the obligation, about making a return gift is not observed. * Colenso: ‘they had a kind of system of exchange, or rather of giving presents which had later to be exchanged or repaid. * ‘I shall tell you about the hau. Hau is not the wind. Not at all. Suppose that you possess a particular object, taonga, and you give it to me; you give it to me without a price. We do not bargain over it. Now I give this thing to a third person who after a time decides to give me something in repayment for it, and he makes me a present of something (taonga). Now this taonga I received from him is the spirit (hau) of the taonga received from you and which I passed on to him. The taonga which I receive on account of the taonga that came from you, I must return to you. It would not be right on my part to keep these taonga whether they were desirable or not. I must give them to you since they are the hau of the taonga which you gave me. If I were to keep this second taonga for myself I might become ill or even die. Such is hau, the hau of personal property, the hau of the taonga, the hau of the forest. Enough on that subject’ * The taonga and all strictly personal possessions have a hau, a spiritual power.
