To access their webpage a user must open their Internet explorer or similar webpage browser and type GamePlanX.com. This will take them to the GamePlanX Homepage, see appendix A for the comprehensive schema for the website. Once signed in, a user has the capability to use the webpage to its full potential. For example, by clicking the Home button, a user will be re-routed from any part of the webpage to the homepage (appendix 1.1). Any of the website features can be accessed from the homepage, and this is the first page a user will view once they log in. Under the Homepage, a user has the option to access different parts of the webpage; these are the Mentoring section, Career, Wellness, Expert Blogs, Forums, E-Concierge and Multimedia (appendix 1.2 thru 1.8).
Under the MyGPX section (appendix b) of the webpage, a user has many options. For example, under the Edit Profile section (appendix 2.1 and 2.2), a user can edit their personal information, which includes their name, address, privacy settings, email settings, password and photos. A user may also write and send messages. Appendix 3.1 and 3.2 illustrates what the users may view in the My Apps section. Here the user may install and then interact with their applications. Expert users have the authority to add or remove apps. In addition, Expert users may also install and interact with those apps. Also, Users can interact and collaborate through those apps in order to reach integration via apps available to the entire teams. However, under this section, we found that it may also be more convenient if users from different teams could interact through each other’s apps when needed.
Another section available under the MyGPX page is the Edit Comment Wall (appendix 3.3 and 3.4). Both users may edit comments on wall options in terms of approval and view, and then save or cancel those changes. The user may delete a comment by only one click. In the comments themselves, the user may comment back, view the full thread and add the commenter as a friend, in case he or she are not already. An improvement to this section would be if the user were given the option to undo deleting comments or verify that they want to delete a comment as it is currently done with only 1 click. The Edit my Team section under MyGPX (Appendix 3.5 and 3.6), gives users the option to select how many teams they can view, additionally, they may save or cancel this option. They can also view their teams and the teams’ details and send a group message to the whole team. Through the team’s page, the user may contact the GPX team administrator, view the notice board, add a discussion to the forums and post a comment in the GPX comment wall. Only the expert users may send invitations for the team and/or approve team membership requests. The inbox section (appendix 3.7) of the MyGPX page allows users to view their inbox, sent and archive messages. For one or more messages the user can mark the item as unread, delete or archive it. The user may also compose messages and send them to one or more recipients from their friends list. In addition, for every message the user may reply, reply to all and forward. Appendix 3.8 illustrates Friends section of the MyGPX page. Under this section, the user can view their friend’s list, select a friend, and send messages to a single friend or to all friends. Users may also elect to comment directly to a specific friend. Users also have the choice to sort the friend list by recently added, alphabetically or randomly. The advanced search field is also available in the friend list, but it is not currently functioning.
Under the Events Calendar (appendix 4.1 thru 4.2), the user is able to view upcoming events. By clicking on the different dates, the user may view the details of individual events, including a short description of the event, time of the event and the organizer. If the user chooses, he/she may RSVP. The user may elect to RSVP as will attend, not attending or might attend. A great feature of this section is that if the user chooses to attend, he/she may then elect to invite friends to the event. However, Instead of wording the RSVP response as will attend, not attending, or might attend, GamePlanX should label the RSVP response as Yes, No or Maybe. It is a more direct and simple response and can be less confusing to the user. The Popular Topics (appendix 4.3 thru 4.6), located on the lower right hand side of the MyGPX page, allows the players to read different articles written by Experts under their blogs. The topics of these articles vary from self-help topics to grow as an athlete to tips on the career of an athlete. The player can comment on the articles that they read. With one click, the user may also select to follow the comment thread. Any user can also add a Popular Topic by clicking the "plus sign" on the top right. Under this option, the user can add the title entry, and customize the blog (topic) options. These options include when the user wants the blog or topic to post (today, or a future date), who can view the post and who can post a comment on the blog; everyone, just the user's friends, or just the user. The user can also become a moderator for the post. The user can then preview the post and save it as a draft or preview and publish the post. The option to save the post is a wonderful idea as it gives the author of a post the flexibility to work on an entry during different times. In other words, it does not force an author to complete and entry in one sitting. However, when in the main page of the expert blogs, the search for a Blog option does not return results. This should be fixed so as to not interrupt or limit the features of the website.
Under the Photos section (appendix 5.1 thru 5.2), also located under the MyGPX page, Players and Experts users have the same authority for the editing of their photos. For example, they can upload photos one by one via personal computers, phones, or email; or have the option of using the simple uploader to upload several pictures at the same time. However, to add a photo by phone a user must email the picture to the website instead of adding it directly to the webpage from their mobile phones. Users also have the option of adding and editing titles, descriptions, comments, and tags to the photos they upload. They are also able to rotate the previously uploaded pictures, change its privacy settings, or delete it. Under the Photo Albums section (appendix 5.3 thru 5.4), player and expert users have the same authority to photo albums. The users can create, describe, title, add photos, and comment on the photo albums. They are also able to save, Edit, and Delete albums.
To conclude, the last section under MyGPX page is Videos (appendix 5.5 thru 5.6). Again, Player and Expert users have the same authority under this section. They can upload videos one by one via personal computers, phones, or email; or have the option of using the simple uploader to upload several videos at the same time, with a maximum of 30 videos at a time and a limit of 100MB for each video. Users may also add and edit titles, descriptions, comments, and tags to the videos and change the video’s privacy settings, and delete it. More importantly, users also can watch videos uploaded by other members.

General Evaluation and Recommendations

| Evolution | Recommendations | Content | The content of GamePlanx is very redundant in many parts of the WebPages. For example “contact us” and “event calendar” is redundant in almost all pages that have different functions. | GPX team needs to review and analyze the content to eliminate redundancy. Unregistered users shouldn’t be able to view some content such as the upcoming events. | Functionality | Some functions in the website are not actually functioning. It has also a compatibility issues with some browsers such IE 9.0.8112.16421. Unlike other social network websites, GPX doesn’t allow sending messages to other member who are not in the friend list of the user. Another important issue is that the member can uncheck the membership terms agreement and still be a member in the website. Advanced search in the friend list is not working properly too. In edit comment section, users can delete a comment with one click. Uploading photos through mobile phones can be done through a complicated and unpleasant process. | In the privacy settings, we recommend that GPX user can create groups within the teams or the friend list so they can have more options about the privacy sittings. GPX should be compatible with all kind of browsers and versions, and needed to be upgraded frequently. The GPX team needs to make sure that all links and buttons are functioning properly. GPX should have a confirmation pop-up message before deleting a comment. Reducing clicks in many pages needs to be considered by GPX team. My GPX team should also develop a mobile application that can work with smartphones “just like facebook” so users can do the main functions such as, uploading pictures, reading and sending messages. After login in, gameplax should add a feature that allows user to view newsfeeds about new comments, new apps and new upcoming events and blogs. A member of the same team, after approved by the team’s administrator, should automatically become friends, as they are members of the same team. | Design | The design is not appealing enough to, comparing to other’s social network website that have much better look and feel. The color used in the background gave the website a sad look. The whole design used when browsing the pages is not user friendly. The login field is not easily visible in the homepage. | GPX developers need to follow the best practices of designing more user-friendly designs that are appealing to the users. Make the login field visible and the login information should in larger font. |

If the order cannot be received in a swift manner and across the proper channels then it can, and most likely will, delay the entire scope of the project. ...Q1 - What is the 8 seconds rule of Internet and why is it so important for m-commerce technology? The 8-second rule is an old rule of the Internet; it is the rough unit of measure of the performance of a web server. This rule was implemented when Internet was taking its first steps. It indeed specified that if the loading time of a web page exceeded eight seconds, Internet users would not wait any longer. Yet the fact remains that this rule no longer applies as a much higher percentage of Internet users have reliable Internet connections, which allow them to upload almost all websites in less than a second. M-commerce is the ability to conduct a transaction while using a mobile device. There are two frequent types of usage of the m-commerce, a mobile user can buy something online from his mobile web connection, or he can use his mobile device as a way of physical payment in a shop (which thus replaces money, checks or credit card). There rules are truly fundamentals when talking about making m-commerce technology a reality: reliability, security and speed. In fact speed is a critical need for the development of m-commerce, one will not use its mobile phone to pay for something if it takes longer than using a regular money payment. Furthermore, today everyone expect us to be very fast, and we live much faster than former generations used to, and this has only been possible through technological improvement. This boils down to the fact that a new technology must feature speed...

...In this exercise, you will use database software to design a database for managing inventory for a small business. Sylvester’s Bike Shop, located in San Francisco, California, sells road, mountain, hybrid, leisure, and children’s bicycles. Currently, Sylvester’s purchases bikes from three suppliers, but plans to add new suppliers in the near future. This rapidly growing business needs a database system to manage this information. Initially, the database should house information about suppliers and products. The database will contain two tables: a supplier table and a product table. The reorder level refers to the number of items in inventory that triggers a decision to order more items to prevent a stockout. (In other words, if the number of units of a particular item in inventory falls below the reorder level, the item should be reordered.) The user should be able to perform several queries and produce several managerial reports based on the data contained in the two tables. Using the information found in the tables on the Laudon Web site for Chapter 5, build a simple relational database for Sylvester’s. Once you have built the database, perform the following activities. • Prepare a report that identifies the five most expensive bicycles. The report should list the bicycles in descending order from most expensive to least expensive, the quantity on hand for each, and the markup percentage for each. • Prepare a report that lists each supplier, its products, the...

...Brief Overview of Company (Summary of budget) The company is a blog, in particular CupcakesandCashmere.com which has transitioned into an online business. Emily Schuman, the creator, writes and blogs about fashion, food, home décor, and everyday life advice. She began the blog in 2008 on blogspot.com and has now transitioned the blog into her own domain name. In response to the popularity, Emily has produced two books in relation to the blog and has multiple sponsors under her belt. Business Problem Emily along with other bloggers who have turned their website into a business frequently complain about the fact that some of her posts get deleted by accident. This is a problem considering her blog posts are essentially what she is getting paid for. Recommended technology (off the shelf) overview I recommend that Emily along with other successful blog businesses use some sort of cloud storage to backup their data. Generally, a blog business is small to medium, thus, the capacity needed to store information should not be as large. For instance, considering it is a small online business, I would use Dropbox as a method to store and backup data. General benefits it will provide the organization The benefits it would provide Emily and bloggers are that all of their information—photos, videos, content, etc. are safely stored and easy to retrieve. Since her blog is her business, it is important to maintain all of her work. Dropbox will make sure that Emily will have none...

Mis Project Proposal

...MIS Proposal Itech In recent years, humongous amount of fund has been dedicated to provide school across the UAE with the newest achievements in the fields of information technology. Accordingly, it makes it imperative for educational institutions to investigate how this technology is being employed and practiced in schools throughout the country. As an assignment, we are supposed to have two schools, preferably with different curriculum, in order to figure out how information technology has contributed to the way they are implementing their educational methods. We chose the Dubai International School (DIS) as one of our examples because Morteza Ahmadi studied at that school from grade 1 to 12. So he knows the school’s location, who we should talk to, and has an idea about that school. Dubai International School has two branches, one in Garhoud, and one in Nad Al-Sheba. It’s a private school and follows an American system. It offers classes from kindergarten up to grade 12. Their goal is to educate students in a way that they will be able to be successful in life and work during the 21st century. The second school we chose is Sharjah Public School (SPS), it offers a British curriculum, IGCSE & A.S. level from kindergarten to grade 12. The school’s goal is to provide excellent education in an inspirational environment to make the students and faculty to feel the essential atmosphere. We have chosen this school because it’s a public unlike the Dubai International...
