This book, Mere Christianity, helped me to think clearer as a Christian. However, it’s also a great book for the non-Christian because it gives a clearer view of what a Christian believes and the nature of the law about morality, which is applicable for everyone. As a result, this book made me even more resolved in my faith.
In the first half, Lewis argues that people like to accept the law of nature as biological because it provides an escape, to rationalize their own disobedience. As human, rationalizing and self-actualizing are continuous problems in the law of nature. In fact, he strongly argues that the law of nature is more like morality.
