...1. ------------------------------------------------- Background US -Pak relations in the last six decades have been unstable and moved in a cyclic pattern with ups and downs, sometimes having close partnership and sometimes having sharp friction between the relations, which are set according to the global and regional geopolitics.US PAK relations have different aspects during different presidencies,e.g:-during the Eisenhower, Nixon and Regan they were not smooth but during the Kennedy,Johnson,Carter,Bush and Clinton administrations however, policies were significant. Pakistan came into existence just as the cold war was started between AMERICA and SOVIET UNION. There were two camps, Soviet and US camp. Infant Pakistan and India had to pick their camps. 2.1 ------------------------------------------------- Relations during Liquat Ali khan: In 1947 liquat Ali khan became the first prime minister of Pakistan; in 1949 two invitations were received to liquat Ali khan. In 1950, Liquat Ali khan (1st pm) of Pakistan was invited by soviets and Americans, and then he chose to visit United States that was the start of Pak-Us relations, and India joined the soviet camp. When liquat ali khan visited USA he was warmly welcomed by the US president TRUMAN, here Liquat ali khan delivered a speech and said that both USA and PAKISTABN have same past both were under the colonialism and liquat ali khan was pro west so liquat Ali khan joined American block. Liquat Ali khan supported USA...

...My word, what a program Capital Talk of 3rd October proved to be, guests included Imran Khan (PTI), Marie Ann Wright (US former diplomat) and Lauren Booth (Britsh journalist). The show was hosted by Hamid Mir and its agenda was to talk on the issue of Drone attacks and Waziristan Peace March. Hamid Mir proved to be comparatively better anchor than other hosts such as Sana Bucha, Asma Shirazi and Javed Chaudhary, etc. He was moving on with questions instead of asking same questions repeatedly. Biggest surprise for me were responses given by the two foreign guests; they seemed to be more Pakistani than any so-called anchor, analyst, or politician from PPP, PMLN, MQM and ANP etc., kudos to them for speaking out truth with courage and audacity. Imran Khan, as usual, was solid in his responses and clear on his stances. He did not budge even for a moment when he declared that once the proper voice has been raised in front of United States and within United Nations against the use of Drones in Pakistan, he will order the PAF to shoot down any invading aircraft that violates the sovereignty of Pakistan’s by entering its air space. This is a normal procedure followed by all countries as per UN charter. Marie Ann and Lauren Booth supported Khan in this, though Ann hoped that it will not come to this. Furthermore, the foreign guests confirmed what most neutral, honest and patriotic analysts in Pakistan have been stating continuously, according to them the media abroad is being used...

...Threats: Political instability: Government is now stable from the day President General Musharaf has taken over. Therefore telecom industry of Pakistan has been experiencing growth since last one and half years. Current government has liberalized the taxation and licensing polices in order to attract more and more foreign direct investment in the country. But this political instability can occur if the government changes and bring new policies which might not be in favor of telecom industry. Propaganda by religious forces: Telenor had to face severe criticism from the religious forces in Pakistan after the publishing of caricatures on the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H). people called for the total opposition of the Norwegian based company. Public pay phones & calling cards usage where network is not available: It is a big threat to the company as it cuts down companies profits. Moreover, people can evenshift to other network who have coverage in those areas. So the company should take notice andtry to provide service in every nook and corner of the country. Formulating and implementing strategies: Once the SWOT analysis is complete the company needs to pay attention to the expansion of the business by offering a number of quality products in the market. The company needs to evaluateits growth strategy so that it can have a clear understanding of the direction towards which it isheading. The organization should concentrate on its primary line of business in order to achievesuccessful...

...Pakistan and India’s relationship can be characterized as that of mistrust and endemic conflict for the last sixty six years. This is unfortunate because a healthy and prosperous relationship between these two neighbors would have led to immense strategic, economic and cultural headway in the challenges that these two countries face today. In fact, the root cause of many of these challenges is this very antagonism that exists between these two countries. So what has given rise to this bad blood? The reasons are myriad and complex and I believe that one needs to look at both the Pakistani and Indian narrative to understand . The seeds of this antagonism were the mindsets of the Congress Party and Muslim League. The congress party always believed that there primary struggle was to get the British out of subcontinent. They views Pakistan as an illegitimate child that could be throttled soon after its birth and made to join United India again. Sardar Patel who was to become the deputy Prime Minister of India expressed publicly that he hoped Pakistan would come join India and Nehru only agreed to the Partition because he felt that Pakistan could not last as an independent state. The Muslims on the hand were the descendants of an ancient conquering class who believed that they would prevail over the Hindus whenever the situation came to armed conflict. Given these mindsets it was preposterous even to assume that the two newly formed stated could follow a policy of reconciliation and...

...Bangladesh Governments: (1971-2009) Bangladesh’s first government took oath on April 10, 1971. The provisional government of the new nation of Bangladesh was formed in Dhaka with the president of the republic, justice Abu Sayed Choudhury and Taj Uddin as Prime Minister. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, 1972–75: The first parliamentary elections held under the 1972 constitution were in March 1973, with the Awami League winning a massive majority. No other political party in Bangladesh's early years was able to duplicate or challenge the League's broad-based appeal, membership, or organizational strength. Mujib and his cabinet having no experience in governance nor administration, relied heavily on experienced civil servants and political factions of the Awami League, the new Bangladesh Government focused on relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction of the economy and society. Mujib nationalised the entire economy, banking and industrial sector. Economic conditions took a serious downturn. On top of that heavy corruption among his own party members, factions and senior leadership also added to the devastation and famine. The then U.S. Secretary of State termed Bangladesh a Bottomless Basket. In December 1974, Mujib decided that continuing economic deterioration and mounting civil disorder required strong measures. After proclaiming a state of emergency, Mujib used his parliamentary majority to win a constitutional amendment limiting the powers of the legislative and judicial branches...

...NAME: SHAMROZ KHAN ROLL NO: B-18105 COURSE: INTERNATIONAL MARKETING FINAL ASSIGNMENT SUBMITTED TO: MARIA NAVEED QUESTION No.1 : What is Government Instability And how it can affect Marketing? Prove with example? GOVERNMENT INSTABILITY: If the government cannot ensure the basic services it provides for people, such as security and the possibility of procuring food and shelter, it loses the power to enforce laws and political instability ensues. Political instability is associated with the concept of a failed state. So it means that government which fails to fulfill their task is known as Government Instability. Affect Of Government Instability On Marketing: The instability of the government has an adverse impact on the marketing and industrial activity in a country. If governments are unstable, consumers often become more cautious in their spending habits. they're usually frightened about job security and so want to put their earnings into saving rather than spending. This is usually because traditional investors normally want to invest in areas of stability so as to ensure a reasonable return on capital. If the situation is unstable, employers shed jobs. And so it goes on. Global instability makes it difficult for companies that are not doing well to capture their market shares. The success of the Business Continuity Program when it comes to planning to counter political instability largely depends upon Stability...

...Beginning and Evolution of film industry in sub-continent Introduction:- Film is a term that encompasses motion pictures as individual projects, as well as the field in general. The origin of the name comes from the fact that photographic film has historically been the primary medium for recording and displaying motion pictures. Many other terms exist for an individual motion picture, including picture, picture show, and most commonly, movie. Additional terms for the field in general include the big screen, the silver screen, the cinema and the movies. Films are produced by recording actual people and objects with cameras, or by creating them using animation techniques and/or special effects. They comprise a series of individual frames, but when these images are shown rapidly in succession, the illusion of motion is given to the viewer. Flickering between frames is not seen due to an effect known as persistence of vision, whereby the eye retains a visual image for a fraction of a second after the source has been removed. Film-A true art-form:- Film is considered by many to be an important art form; films entertain, educate, enlighten and inspire audiences. The visual elements of cinema need no translation, giving the motion picture a universal power of communication. Any film can become a worldwide attraction, especially with the addition of dubbing or subtitles that translate the dialogue. Films are also artifacts created by specific cultures, which reflect...
