By being part of the National Junior Honor Society, I learned the different qualities needed for the next level. There are many qualities that will benefit the organization. I can contribute many things such as determination, hard work, and leadership. Throughout the past few years, I have played five different sports with back-to-back seasons. These include cross country, basketball, lacrosse, and most recently I started golf. I never played golf before this year but when I saw that we were getting a team, I wanted to give it a try. I am always willing to volunteer and provide service for my parents, teachers, or the elderly. Whenever I have free time I study or help my younger brother with his homework and afterschool activities. I am also honest, trustworthy, and a leader. Below are some of the strengths and requirements I have to be in NJHS. Leadership I am very good at help younger students. In choir we are separated into different groups. Without anyone telling me to I take charge of the people in my group. We did different activities so I assigned different parts and we usually win challenges. In band I am one of the older drummers so I have to work with the younger beginner drummers. In band the instructor is usually more focussed on working with the main instruments like the saxophones and the clarinets so percussion is at the bottom. West Point Case Study

...West Point Case Analysis Bellevue University Description “A Cadet will not lie, cheat or steal nor tolerate those who do”, reads West Point’s honor code, allegedly violated in 1976. The West Point Cheating Incident revolves around an incident from 1976, where over 100 juniors were alleged to have cheated on an electrical engineering exam. Cheating on an exam can have damning ramifications at any school, but when it comes to West Point; it is a direct violation of the schools highly held honor code. The honor code is a West Point tradition, and has helped mold military leaders with high integrity and strong values. Due to the sheer number of individuals, who were alleged to be involved, and where the scandal was happening, the event garnered national attention. Due to the uproar in the press and across the country, more pressure was placed on General Sidney Berry, Superintendent of the United States Naval Academy by bureaucrats and politicians alike. Diagnosis West Point is not your ordinary school setting. It is a breeding ground for training our nation’s best and brightest future military leaders. In the United States Military, it is imperative for soldiers to lead with character, while remaining calm under fire. It seems West Point, at the time of this event, concerned itself more around punishing for crimes than it did developing character. If West Point was truly interested in developing leaders with high character, it would not utterly dismiss individuals...

Much has changed since Exodus, including how we follow the pivotal rules that have been commanded for us. Though almost everyone can agree that today in 2014, we are not coveting our neighbors slaves, many essential rules we have used to live our lives morally are no longer followed. “Honor your father and mother” is a commandment that has been not only bent but broken, especially in recent times; in fact, today the ubiquitous breaking of this commandment is having such horrific consequences that it is leading to the destruction of not just the breaker of the commandment but the destruction of the family and the community. ...These pages were downloaded from Writing Personal Statements Online, available at https://www.e-education.psu.edu/writingpersonalstatementsonline/ Short Personal Statement by a Geology Student Growing up in Canada with a life-long fascination for Canadian geography, I have always been interested in returning to the country. Although my family moved to the US before I entered high school, I have always kept my eyes turned north, especially in recent years as I began to read journal articles about research conducted on John Evans Glacier, located about 80° N latitude. Graduating next semester with a B.S. in computer science and engineering and a minor in geographic information systems, I am interested in attending the University of Alberta for graduate study. Geographic information systems (GIS) is a field especially suited to investigating spatial patterns, modeling diverse scenarios, and overlaying spatial data. This semester, in my advanced GIS course, Spatial Data Structures and Algorithms, I am part of a team developing a temporal database and program for tracing historical trading data. My computer science skills have also been put to use in two summer internship projects, where I acquired proficiency with using LIDAR (light detection and ranging) technology, now favored by NASA in its current 10-year study of Greenland and changes in the ice cap extent. Through my coursework and project experience, I have also accrued skills...
