An Epos system is a computerized till point, used for recording the accurate payment for goods in any businesses that serve customers. The Epos system can be connected through network area for larger businesses or on its own in a smaller shop. Having the system means the business doesn’t have to price all of their products themselves. It also records the amount of stock that has been sold to help the business ensure an accurate decision when re-ordering the stock as the system would know how much stock has averagely been sold and will know to order more or less stock. This would help the counter staff by keying in the customer’s order on the wireless device where it is then delivered to the kitchen staff and chef and the cashiers till at the counter. This will enable the sandwich makers to see it and allow them to start preparing the order. Once the order is ready, the waiting staff can simply take the order over to the customer without any problems. This will improve taking customer’s orders as the orders wouldn’t be written down wrong, misunderstood or lost as the kitchen staff and counter staff would receive a digital copy of the order. The system can be very expensive and costly to businesses however by installing the Epos system into the business and shops, there are a lot more benefits that will come to the business and the managers making the stores more efficient and benefiting the profit and income to Sandwich Plus. The business will become more efficient as there would be no human errors as the wireless devices ensure that the data is accurate. The system would also benefit the manager stock orders as all sales are stored on the system, stock control is much easier to monitor as the Epos system automatically calculates what stock is needed. The information will be reliable as it is all electronically calculated therefore no human errors take place. This would also help speed up the process of stock control and allows the manager to focus on other areas within the sandwich bar. The system is also updated straight away therefore no delays that effects timeliness. All information is transferred instantly, from the wireless device to the Epos system. This will allow the manager to check on sales whatever time of day and still receive accurate results. The benefited income and profit to Sandwich Plus would be able to help pay for the Epos system in the long run. Once the Epos system is installed, the business would be able to be compared to other popular companies such as Subway or McDonalds because of the advanced information system being used.
