1. Patrols are to be done every hour starting at 6 pm until 6am. Interior patrols are to be done every even hour, and exterior patrols are to be done every odd hour. While on patrol the on-duty Security Officer is to swipe your badge at every reader and check for access.
a. For Closed SCIF’s: Check for red light, check handle, spin dial, and then badge the card reader.
b. For Open SCIF’s: Check for green light, badge card reader, check handle, and note open SCIF in DAR. 2. The Security cell phone is to be on you at all times unless charging. The Security cell phone often loses reception, and the on-duty Security Officer is responsible for checking and resetting the connection by turning on then off Airplane mode. The Security cell phone is not to be left at the desk while on patrol for any reason!

During the first interior patrol, if there are any SCIF’s open, make a note and check with persons within the SCIF who will be closing that SCIF. Get an extension or a cell number. This way if they forget to secure it, you can call them to come back and arm it. If for any reason a SCIF is left open and you are unable to get in contact with the person responsible for closing it, follow the contact call list on the desk.
4. While on patrol check for: any leaks, alarms, fire hazards, and trash on your patrol. Close blinds, refrigerator doors, and the appropriate doors after hours.
5. Make sure all lights are off and blinds closed on your 8 pm rounds. Also after cleaners leave, check to make sure they turned the lights off.
6. Check the temperature in the server room. It should always be between 58 and 59 degrees. If it goes up or down more than 5 degrees (53o-63o) call Larry Short.
7. During exterior, swipe badge at all readers and then wait a few seconds. Then, check all exterior doors make sure they are secure. Scan parking lot for any suspicious vehicles or suspicious people. There is no fishing to be done at the
