...Chinese restaurants. It was served with a spicy black bean sauce, which I found to be interesting because I never thought of that as a Japanese flavor. However, I must say I have never tasted a better flavor to go along with edamame. Also as an appetizer, I ordered the Philadelphia Cream Cheese Wonton, which was my favorite part of the meal. This dish definitely had an American feel to go along with the Asian style because of the cream cheese. They were deep-fried and served hot with a sweet duck sauce to dip them in. They were unbelievable. Next up was my entrée! I decided to order the Chicken Pad Thai, which is a traditional Thai dish. The rice noodles were stir fried with carrots and scallions in a traditional Mandarin sweet and spicy Pad Thai sauce. The sauce included a hint of Thai curry, which blended all the flavors of spicy, sweet, and peanut into a delectable dish. I have had many Pad Thai dishes before, but this one was right up there with the best of them. Being at an Asian restaurant, I decided to go away from my norm and picked the Green Tea Crème Brulee. I was very interested to see how it would come out considering Crème Brulee is a French dessert that is usually flavored with vanilla. Green Tea has Asian origins, which is why they used that flavor. The dessert was not my favorite, but I had to try what is customary to the restaurant. Overall, this meal was delicious and I plan on returning in the near...

...Graphic Design IT/236 Introduction to Web Design I May 20th 2015 Professor Frank Futyma Project Proposal: Graphic Design My website, LVsplashpads.com, will be incorporating a few different plug-ins and multimedia features. When the site is first introduced, I anticipate to only having pictures from splash pads from around the city, however, I would eventually like to have live streams available of specific splash pads if possible. I would like to set up a feature where user’s of the website may upload small video’s to the website and they can be broadcast to everyone who logs in, so they can see the conditions of a specific splash pad as well as how busy it may be on that particular day. I would like to include small videos that I will personally upload to the site, showing a brief walk through each park for all users to view when they would like. Graphics will most definitely make up a majority of my site, as it will give the user a visual of the place that they would like to visit. I will have a few scattered pictures of random splash pads incorporated on the main page, however, I will have a specific page on the site where I will put all other splash pad pictures as well as give users a chance to upload their own! I know it is out of the spectrum of things that I could include now but having a live feed on my page is something that I would like to have and having the ability to load graphics onto this live feed would be very interesting in my opinion. I believe...

...that the encryption type used was substitution. Here, ciphertext were used to replace the plaintext. As an Intelligence Personnel, I would have done couple of things differently. Even though the Choctaw Codetalkers and Enigma Encryption Device were direct results of the failure of Zimmerman Telegram, the latter was used by the United States during the same period of World War 1. It is important to note here that there was already an encryption method which must have been ignored by the Germans. The One-Time Pad was already in use before the start of World War 1. This encryption method according to Nicholas G. McDonald in his Research Review explained that the one-time pad encryption algorithm was invented in the early 1900's, and has since been proven as unbreakable. The one time algorithm is derived from a previous cipher called Vernam Cipher, named after Gilbert Vernam. The Vernam Cipher was a cipher that combined a message with a key read from a paper tape or pad. The Vernam Cipher was not unbreakable until Joseph Mauborgne recognized that if the key was completely random the cryptanalytic difficultly would be equal to attempting every possible key. Another point worthy of mention is the mistake of sending the entire message in one transaction. As an Intelligence Officer I would have broken the message in shorter telegrams. The chances of intercepting all of the messages would have been very slim. McDonald, N. 2009 Past, Present, and Future Methods of Cryptography and...

...How Personal Can Ethics Get BUS 520 William Harris Strayer University The workplace can present many ethical and moral issues. It was no different with Valerie Young, what she experienced left her between a rock and hard place. In her position, I probably would respond the same way. Without the option of changing employment along with being deported and her educational goals those personal needs and desires weighed heavily on her decision. However, I believe her decision not to disclose information until the appropriate time was more of an attributing factor. Having been in similar situations over my career, I too have had to wait for the proper time to expose corrupt behavior from leadership within an organization. Although my options to leave the company were available, I chose to stay and wait it out which proved to my benefit along with our department. The old saying “be careful what say and do to others on the up because you will meet those some individuals on the down”, was the case in my exposing middle management extortive practices with their expense accounts. Valerie exhibits a hardy personality type which enables her to make sound decisions that are not based on emotion. The traits of that personality type lends itself to possess a strong commitment to their work and personal relationships, not taking the easy way out when things get rough also possess the ability to see unexpected changes even pressures as opportunities and challenges...

...ARUGMENT MAPPING Week three assignment #1 Lionel Gantt Dr. Andre Lee PAD-520 Strayer University 04/25/2016 Create an argument map based on the influence diagram presented in Case 1.3 and complete all the criteria provided in the exercise, beginning with this claim: “The U.S. should return to the 55- mph speed limit in order to conserve fuel and save lives. Make a contention map taking into account the impact chart exhibited in Case 1.3 and finish every one of the criteria gave in the activity, starting with this claim: "The U.S. should come back to the 55-mph speed limit so as to moderate fuel and spare lives." "The law was a reaction to the 1973 oil ban, and its plan was to decrease fuel utilization. In the year after the National Maximum Speed Law was sanctioned, street fatalities declined 16.4%, from 54052 in 1973 to 45196 in 1974" (eric.ed.gov). In 1974, the government passed the National Maximum Speed Law, which confined the most extreme allowable vehicle speed farthest point to 55 miles for each hour (mph) on every single interstate street in the United States. As indicated by the Environmental Protection Agency, "you can accept that every 5 mph you drive more than 50 mph resemble paying an extra $0.25 per gallon for gas, in extra; driving every vehicle achieves its ideal efficiency at an alternate velocity; gas mileage for the most part reductions quickly at paces above 50 mph"(colostate.edu). ...Argument mapping by Michael A Stevenson pad 520 public policy 4/25/2014 Abstract This paper covers two arguments by the usage of simple and complex argument maps. The first argument is on reducing the national speed limit to 55 mph and the second looks at the conflict in the Balkans and the debate of U.S. intervention. Argument Maps for 55-mph and Balkan Conflict There are numerous reasons to argue for and even against the 55 mph speed limit, as well as the question as to if the U.S. should or should not intervene in the Balkan conflict. This paper and its attached argument maps are designed to look at each of these arguments from both sides and make an informed decision concerning the matters. First, it will examine the claim “The U.S. should return to the 55- mph speed limit in order to conserve fuel and save lives.” Second it will examine the claim of “The conflict in Bosnia is somebody else’s trouble. The U.S. should not intervene militarily.” In either argument, there are pros and cons which much be addressed in order to make informed decisions concerning if policy makers should agree or disagree with either premise. The U.S. Should Return to the 55- mph Speed Limit The argument continues again today as to if the United States should return to the 55mph speed limit. Higher gas prices have forced some American drivers to trade in their S.U.V.’s for smaller, more fuel-efficient cars; combine errands in an effort to drive less; or even add air to their tires to eke...

...Argument Mapping Jessica Moody PAD 520 04/25/2016 Professor Dr. Thomas Create an argument map based on the influence diagram presented in Include in the map as many warrants, backings, objections, and rebuttals as possible. Claim: “The U.S. should return to the 55- mph speed limit in order to conserve fuel and save lives” Information: Experts say reducing highway speeds from 70 mph to 60 mph would reduce gasoline consumption between 2% and 3%. That could translate into a price reduction of as much as 10%. At today's price, almost 38 cents a gallon. Additionally, a lower speed limit saves 167,000 barrels of oil per day and could save approximately 6,400 lives per year. Warrant 1. Decreased speed limit will improve fuel average of the vehicles. Backing 1. Cars are most fuel efficient when driven between 30 mph and 60 mph. Above 65 mph, mileage drops sharply. This isn't rocket science. If drivers are forced to slow down, we would all use less gasoline. On reducing speed to a lower level will also curb subsidies provided on fuel so it will cost less to the exchequer of the federal. Warrant 2. Decreased speed limit will decrease loss to the subsidies as fuel prices are increasing day by day. Backing 2. Besides, decrease in number of casualties will also reduce government burden of health coverage. Objections. Curbing the speed to the lower level will increase travel time and lead to traffic jams on most of the corridors. Rebuttal. Surveys show that drivers...

...Sheryl Smith Argument Mapping PAD 520 Dr. Glenn Starks October 26, 2015 Create an argument map based on the influence diagram presented in Case 1.3 and complete all the criteria provided in the exercise, beginning with claim. Claim: “The U.S. should return to the 55-mph speed limit in order to conserve fuel and save lives. Information: Authorities consider reducing highway speed from 70-mph to 60-mph could reduce gasoline consumption between 2% and 3%. Which would explain the price reduction at least by 10%. With today’s prices at 38 cent a gallon. However, a lower speed limit saves approximately 167,000 barrels of oil per day and would save approximately 6,400 lives a year.” (Dunn, William N. (2012), Para. 3. P. 24). Warrant 1: While reducing the speed limit can increase the fuel efficiency on the vehicles. Backing: Some cars are already made with fuel injection while driven between 30-mph and 60-mph. Mileage will drop noticeably if driven over 65 mph. Slowing down would reduce the amount of gasoline used as well as limitation grants. On a central standpoint these changes will cost less. Warrant 2: Reduced speed limit will also decrease the loss to of aid due to increasing gasoline prices. Backing 2: Reduce the number of victim will also reduce the governments cost of medical care. Objections: Shortening the speed will rise travel time as well as leading to traffic jams on major highways. Claim: “The U.S. should return to the 55-mph speed limit in order to conserve...

...Policy Analysis on Education LaKeesha K. Carpenter Dr. L. Saye PAD 520 January 22, 2012 Abstract In this policy analysis I talk about education. Educational systems around the world, and specifically in the United States, have long been awaiting for genuine reform efforts. Technology is often perceived as a panacea, if not as a crucial instrument in any educational reform effort. New understandings, as opposed to mere information, is what schools need to reach in order to transform themselves to new and effective reforms and make current policies work throughout the state and country. The data in this report represent national averages. The experiences, trends, and issues in your local community may vary somewhat from the broad picture presented here. We hope this primer will provide you with sufficient background information about public education to encourage your interest in education issues and your involvement in your local schools. | | | | | Education is needed to promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence. Education is needed for humans to make an impact on society, and to make viable decisions and the right moves at the right time. It leads to better jobs and higher income, health and life expectancy, voter turnout, self-worth and dignity. Education trains the mind to think and make the right decisions(2006). Through education knowledge and information is received...
