Advance professional development plan
INTRODUCTION
To achieve a set goal you also need to accomplish certain task and get to this targeted goal. I personally think that I will be better equipped if I would have core personal and professional skills, then I can utilize my capabilities in more productive manner to achieve my goal. It may be hard for some to learn those skill, but as far I find myself I can handle these skill well and can be master on those as per I need them. The best user of personal and professional skill is the person who uses them both with right choice of appropriation. Another thing to notice is the level of competence of the person and motivation and drive towards achievement. If objective are set unrealistic and without having interest in it, it is high probable to fail in achieving the set goal.

(TASK-3)
What is the purpose of personal development plan?
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
The Personal development plan (PDP), is an individual personal written report about the trade and characteristics he or she have on the basis of skills audit. The report also reflects the short coming in the personality in the form of particular personal and professional skills. On the basis of such reports evaluation for future personal development plan could be made easy. A good creatively draft PDP also tells the readers about person who wrote the PDP for him or herself. A PDP is not more than a description of personal skills audit of present competences and awareness for future learning through prescribe training programme. Another purpose of PDP is to allow a personal to elaborate oneself in detail and reviews the capabilities one possesses and to what extant theses skill or competences has been uses by this vary person. On this evaluative basis the possessive skill could also be enhance in next coming time. An honest and precise PDP would help to understand the greater need of lacking or developing skill. How detail is the PDP is also shows the commitment of the person in equipping for future. The personal development plan is a document which should be update after its first written to provide clear picture of present status of desired skill which was discuss previously in PDP. It is not a onetime written report instead it is lifetime written document.
“A PDP is just another name for a plan of action, only this one refers specifically to your aspirations regarding personal development.”And “we make plan every day, but do not always write them down; a PDP allows you to set your own personal targets and find the best way to achieve them.” (Advance Professional Develoment, 2009)
LEARNING CYCLE AND STYLE:
The important thing in writing PDP in report form is by evaluation self learning style. A learning style is an important factor in a learning cycle and every one has their own learning cycle, therefore their own learning style. The learning cycle require combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience about a competence of particular skill. That competence can be learned through set of four kind of learning experience. It is recommended that one should understand his preferred learning style before putting a PDP in a report form. Therefore I have to adapt my preferred learning style which not only complements my personal trades but also my present skills. Different people have different learning habits and they develop self complacent style of learning. In my case I have found myself indulge in more than one learning style, when dealing with in variety of situations. As a personality I would like to choose any of the style as per mood I feel good in. Thoroughly reviewing the all four learning style I feel I am more of an activist and pragmatist. The both type of learning style needs the experience criteria of a learning style. For my PDP I would defiantly go for “Activist,” because it complements me best in any form of learning. I would also be countering the pragmatic style of learning because as early learner I use that learning style, but now as a mature learner I must not indulge in any form of habitual learning. I must decide to a learning style that describes best of my learning feasibility. My PDP would clearly be demonstrating the activist model and base on activist learning style, which has core requirement experience.
(Prepare and implement a personal development plan and evaluate the effectiveness of your own learning with reference to skills audit: identification of those skills to be developed; a plan showing the resources needed for development over a time scale.)
MY PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
DO I NEED PDP?:
This is a weigh question in generic sense but as soon as I realise the importance of future event of my life I start getting worried. If I don't act fast and in right way, I may end up an ordinary person with average skill and I would not be capable to meet the challenges of my life for that particular time. Acting quickly directly refers to assigning a PDP for myself, where as the right path for PDP concerns about choosing type of PDP with variation of tool and techniques, learning style and awareness of gaps in skill and personal learning. An experience gap in a career or learning skips in academic back ground may also be a skill gap which is most likely happens to common peoples due to between jobs tenure, redundancies and low education desire, circumstances or funding degree. So there is no more than one view of having a well sketch PDP for myself. To write a PDP for my own aspirations to be fulfil I should evaluate myself on the following critical questions;
Where am I now?
Where do I want to be?
How do get there?
The first question is the starting point of my development plan, because it gives me my present situation's valuation, at the same time it's also intrigue my aspiration to develop or equip myself for near future and far future, which I can say generally short term and long term PDPs. If someone asked me this same question, I might reply with my recent achievements and past performance or vice versa. Actually in between the line I am trying to tell my strengths and neglect my weakness. On further inquisition, I would elaborate my personal and professional skills and competencies. As a result of that discussion a technical argument could ignite and I may realise my real short coming as of this in result. I would also review mine that vary performance to answer the question and the competence level by which I handle the argument. That is more often happens when I face interviewer question regarding my personal achievement in career. Now I have opportunity to solve this puzzle by taking step of question in following way.
1) What am I good at?
2) What do I need to work on?
3) What could help me along?
4) What might stop me?
Box 1
What am I good at? (STREANTH)

Box 2
What do I need to work on? (WEAKNESS)
 Good solid work experience and sound knowledge of working in accounting field.
 Accounting degree for better job prospect in London.
 Vary competent computer skills and aptitude to deal with new latest software.
 Good communication and coordinating skills. Written communication, following rules and procedures.
 Marketing skills helps me to survive in city like London.
 Presently studying diploma of edexcel level 7 advance professional in management.  A post graduate degree not a general MBA, but MSc in accounting and finance.
 Short courses in accounting software e.g. sage, quick book, peach tree.
 An office administration job or a job related to my previous job experience to avoid any long pause between my job careers.
 Funds availability to complete my Post graduate studies from home.
 Compromising on marital status if I want to or may get married.
 A good life partners also her support in perusing my degree and working.
Box 3
What could help me along? (OPPORTUNUTY)
Box 4
What might stop me? (TREADS)
 Legal status to working fulltime through sponsoring of UK employer to get work permit or HSMP/ PSW.
 IT and internet friendly working preference can boost career profile.
 A part time work up to 20 to 25 hours a week in a well establish firm, in the same filed where I am experienced e.g. admin or accounting job.
 Work time adjustment to allow me to study freely in College, university and Libraries.  Legal status to comply with study and work in UK.
 Failure to complete my Pg diploma in management studies.
 No mean of earning from part or full time jobs.
 High university's fee limits me to specialise in field of aptitude studies e.g. business, management, accounting & finance, information risk management.
 Employer's limitation to provide work and time to study and appropriate salary.
The above chart is basically a SWOT representation of my personality and where am I stands in present situation. It is an analysis of my set goal and aspiration to achieve them with available resources, short coming and opportunities to get through the situation, what I am facing right at present stage. Let's move to my second critical question, where do I want to be? As an international student to UK I have a sense of achievement and as a new comer to London to earn my post graduate degree I also have adjustment problems. It may be due to accomplishing the one goal to seek immigration in foreign country and start studying. There has been a significant gap in my academic career, between my commerce graduation and recently started Post graduate studies. But I need to be focus on my final objective that is to finish my post graduate qualification to considering me in a better job market.
So let's just readjust my target again from seeking immigration to UK for further studies to what really I want to achieve in qualification wise and what after I earn my academic degree. Being an international student I want to peruse my studies and finish within a specific time. I also have to use the available monitory fund for my studies form home and from here for living within this specific period of time. So I can move along my job career quickly without causing any further gaps in my working career. I have to counter the dilemma of gaps in my studies and in my jobs. Initially it was my under qualification which pushes me to more often switch between jobs and gaps between jobs, i.e. between jobs periods. Now situation is other way around because, now I am perusing my post graduate degree therefore I cannot work fulltime so my studies would not be scarifies. According to immigrant student I am not entitled to work full time, beside this an employer in UK would always ask for permission to remain in UK and work from immigrant to comply with home office regulation. I would say I am in second phase of eliminating gaping factor from my work career that brings a considerable gap in my academic career. As soon as I finish my post graduate degree which will definitely give me edge in my job market. I would then have to take care of my working gab.
Since long before I came to London I have this desire to work abroad in better working environment with lots of office working skills. Become a part of corporate venture or major company would give me confidence and self esteem. I would like to be a common average working person who commutes to city during his middle career. I am happy with my selection of study method and my basic graduate degree which, needs to be improve. There is no time limitation to complete my degree but a specific time frame always to be set to make a plan working for achievement. My circumstances had been affected by the commencement of the studies, which brought me out of job market suddenly and change my legal status to study and work under student category. I predict if I may get married by within six to one year, then it will have affected on my studies drastically. Because than my priorities would have to shift from my present status. I would be considering going for fulltime day job to maintain my family. In other circumstances if I may get married after I finish what I am doing now than, it will be planed. In first instance it was troublesome as it was unplanned to plan things batter due to UKBA limitation to live as student and work legally fulltime. It is evident from all above discussion that the financial resources I have to fund my objective of completion my studies are not sufficient at this particular stage. If I would be able to buy more time to live and study in UK I would surely be able to overcome this problem. I do have competence framework with personal and professional skill for that case;
PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
Following are some key skill that I can use affectively to achieve set tasks in ultimate goal. These skills are high calibre skill for personal development and can only be our part of personality if we take charge of these skill to come in our personal characteristics. There is a well defining learning method and we can be master in them if continuously practice is put in action.
• Strategic Time Management
• Prioritising Task (Work / personal)
• Delegation of Tasks
• Solution Oriented
• Planning
• Leadership skill and Quality
• Interpersonal and Technical Skill
• Good IT skill and PC skill
• Communicative Skill (Oral, Written, Descriptive e.g. Presentational Skill)
Finally at this the stage I can set my short, medium and long term objective to get there where do I want to be, How Can I get there? This is a very exciting and thrilling stage for me to observing my set target coming in my way and providing me steps of success. But I have to work diligently in my plan to make sure that they will must be execute in proper time and using limited resources that I have. There is a particular technique I should mention which is related to achieving set goal and objectives through visionary approach.
STRATEGIC THINKING AS “SEEING”:
This is a useful technique and I have use that before, even I have learned recently about it. The technique suggests that one should be very vigilant about the visionary goal and must think it by seeing ahead and behind, above and below, beside and beyond. Putting altogether to get through and get there where do I want to be? Well side by side I would also have to tackle the short term and long term situation with the knowledge I have learn so far from this unit1 (Advance Professional Development). I have learn how to effectively manage my time and priorities my own personal goals, also avoiding time management traps and overcome distraction by eliminating unnecessary tasks. How can I better deal with stress through stress management and what type of person am I in nature-nurture debate. I would rather like to be decline towards idiographic than nomothetic.
The objectives are various and may last for a period span of 6 months to 1 year and few can go beyond one year period.
SHORT TERM OBJECTIVES: o Job experience related part time or full time job, so. o A proper rented pace can hire on rent. o Solve present conflict with my previous college for further college fee funding o DVLA license, which is very important in UK citizen. o Prerequisite documents for SIA, for security job.
MID TERM OBJECTIVES:
• Successfully completion of currently in process Pg Diploma.
• Get admission in a government university for masters.
• Further job career enhancement so the previous gaps can be bridge.
• Find better mean for funding my master's studies if marriage could help.
LONG TERM OBJECTIVES:
 The ultimate and final objective is to find a most appropriate job in the London city central after completion my post graduate degree.
 Permanently settling in UK or moving ahead for better prospect in any big city for relocation e.g. New York, Chicago, LA, (USA & Canada).

Personal Development Plan

...This report is a personal development plan that shows an evaluation of current skills and knowledge that includes my strengths and weaknesses. Development is a lifelong of nurturing, shaping and improving an individual's skills, knowledge and interests to ensure my maximum effectiveness and adaptability, and to minimize the obsolescence of my skills and my chances of redundancy. It does not necessarily imply upward movement; rather, it is about enabling individuals to improve and use my full potential at each career stage. (Definition of personal development planning from class material) The personal development plan for me is a chance to know my self better, I can realize what I want to achieve or where I want to go in the plan, in the short- or long-term, and also identifying the need for skills, knowledge or competence. An individual's personality is an aggregate conglomeration of the decisions they have made throughout their life and the memory of the experiences to which these decisions led. There are inherent natural, genetic, and environmental factors that contribute to the development of our personality. According to process of socialization, "personality also colors our values, beliefs, and expectations. Hereditary factors that contribute to personality development do so as a result of interactions with the particular social environment in which people live." There are several personality types as Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers illustrated in several personalities typology tests, which are based on Carl Jung's school of Analytical psychology. However, these tests only provide enlightenment based on the preliminary insight scored according to the answers judged by the parameters of the test. Other theories on personality development include Jean Piaget's stages of development, Erik Erikson's stages of psychosocial development, and personality development in Sigmund Freud's theory being formed through the interaction of id, ego, and super-ego. ...Throughout the course, we were required to complete weekly self-assessment exams that provided us the opportunity to learn more about ourselves and how we live our daily lives. What affects us, and how to properly make the necessary changes that will help us grow not only in our personal life; but also in our professional life. I learned that my life is very chaotic and at times, I get distracted and can easily become stress with certain situations. For example, I just became a new mom in 2013 and trying to juggle work which can easily be a twelve hour shift, then coming home and attending to mommy duties which of course never end; also attending school part time while still trying to keep a semi social life can become very hectic. The amount of help that is provided to me is very limited, which becomes overwhelming. At this time I’ve been focusing more in my career. ...Personal Ethics Development Paper PHL/323 July 15, 2010 In this paper I will discuss my personal ethical system and ground rules. I will talk about how I developed my values and what those values are and the sources I believe I developed them from. I will also discuss how my personal values impact my work environment and how my company values impact my personal values. Development of Values One’s personal values are acquired early in life. At birth we are born with no knowledge. We cry when we are hungry, need our diaper changed or want attention. We lie there content until we need something then we cry. This is the starting point that sets the tone and direction for one’s life and the decision-making process. The goal of developing values in children is to establish the capability to make sound judgments (Kohlberg, 1971). The entire process of value development is lifelong and continuous (Nucci, 2002). Personal Values Personal values are almost like DNA, individual to one person. Personal values are those that define me as a person: •I believe that people are responsible for his/her own actions…•I believe in family unity…•I believe in compassion…•I believe in the importance of a good education…•I believe in having good work ethics…•I believe in love…•I believe in honesty…•I believe in choice…•I believe we are who we want to be…•I believe that we learn from our mistakes…•I believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy…•I believe my dad is...

Personal Responsibility as a Development Tool

...Personal Responsibility as a Development Tool Arquímedes Cedeño University of Phoenix, Puerto Rico Campus GEN/200 February 14, 2012 Lic. Lopez-Rivera Personal Responsibility as a Development Tool In the society, the persons require a high degree of personal responsibility to be considered as a successful person in life.
