The Portfolio will be marked ‘pass’ or ‘fail’. To pass you must include all the exercises given to you on your BREO site and in the workshops. This portfolio will consist of: * Practice report with analysis (this is submitted early, on the date agreed with your tutor and does not need to be submitted again with the other documents) * Your personal SWOT analysis * Written 30 second elevator pitch * A traditional CV using the format used in your country plus an International CV using the MBA Template provided on this site * LinkedIn Profile (please ask your Line Manager/Superior for permission to submit a profile on LinkedIn. If you are unable to submit on LinkedIn, please advise your tutor)

The Practice Report

The practice report gives you the opportunity to use the writing and referencing skills revised in workshop 2 to prepare a report on a given topic. This report will be assessed and you will be given feedback on your abilities to write effectively. This report and the feedback will be the first item in your Portfolio.

The CV

There is no such thing as the perfect CV. Your CV must be continually updated as you develop more skills. You need also to compose a CV that reflects any position you are applying for. We also ask you to submit a traditional CV using the format used in your country. This is to make you aware of your ‘audience’ and to understand the expectations of different markets, both domestic and international.

Your Profile

An important outcome of your portfolio is your personal profile. This is your ‘calling card’ and is a way of entering the international world of business. Linkedin is not just a tool to promote yourself but also a way to network with people and organisations that may be useful to you or your organisation.
Your SWOT Analysis

Reflection is an important part of your personal and professional development. It is important to identify both your strengths and weaknesses so you can build on the former and address the latter.

Hand in date for your Assessment:

Practice report : Date to be confirmed
Portfolio : (exact date to be confirmed)
The MBA Administrative team will inform you of the date for submission and you can submit your portfolio online.

Personal Development Plan

...This report is a personal development plan that shows an evaluation of current skills and knowledge that includes my strengths and weaknesses. Development is a lifelong of nurturing, shaping and improving an individual's skills, knowledge and interests to ensure my maximum effectiveness and adaptability, and to minimize the obsolescence of my skills and my chances of redundancy. It does not necessarily imply upward movement; rather, it is about enabling individuals to improve and use my full potential at each career stage. (Definition of personal development planning from class material) The personal development plan for me is a chance to know my self better, I can realize what I want to achieve or where I want to go in the plan, in the short- or long-term, and also identifying the need for skills, knowledge or competence. It also helps me to define the appropriate development to meet those perceived needs. In this report, I am going to focusing on what my strengths are and where my weaknesses are, also how to use my strengths in the field I will work into in the future, and how to develop my weaknesses to be my strengths as well. 2. An individual's personality is an aggregate conglomeration of the decisions they have made throughout their life and the memory of the experiences to which these decisions led. There are inherent natural, genetic, and environmental factors that contribute to the development of our personality. According to process of socialization, "personality also colors our values, beliefs, and expectations. Hereditary factors that contribute to personality development do so as a result of interactions with the particular social environment in which people live." There are several personality types as Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers illustrated in several personalities typology tests, which are based on Carl Jung's school of Analytical psychology. However, these tests only provide enlightenment based on the preliminary insight scored according to the answers judged by the parameters of the test. Personal Development Plan

...Throughout the course, we were required to complete weekly self-assessment exams that provided us the opportunity to learn more about ourselves and how we live our daily lives. What affects us, and how to properly make the necessary changes that will help us grow not only in our personal life; but also in our professional life. I learned that my life is very chaotic and at times, I get distracted and can easily become stress with certain situations. For example, I just became a new mom in 2013 and trying to juggle work which can easily be a twelve hour shift, then coming home and attending to mommy duties which of course never end; also attending school part time while still trying to keep a semi social life can become very hectic. The amount of help that is provided to me is very limited, which becomes overwhelming. At this time I’ve been focusing more in my career. I plan to complete my undergraduate certificate in Human Resources. Currently, my job title is Executive Assistant/office Manager for Univision Communications. My company is one of the biggest Hispanic television networks in the United States and Mexico. I currently assist the EVP, Business Development and the team which is located with me in New York then locations in Miami and Denver. Since I’ve been adding more HR related roles into my current job responsibilities, I believe that completing my certificate program will enable me to familiarize myself more within the Human resources role for example, vacation...

Personal Ethics Development

...Personal Ethics Development Paper PHL/323 July 15, 2010 In this paper I will discuss my personal ethical system and ground rules. I will talk about how I developed my values and what those values are and the sources I believe I developed them from. I will also discuss how my personal values impact my work environment and how my company values impact my personal values. Development of Values One’s personal values are acquired early in life. At birth we are born with no knowledge. We cry when we are hungry, need our diaper changed or want attention. We lie there content until we need something then we cry. This is the starting point that sets the tone and direction for one’s life and the decision-making process. The goal of developing values in children is to establish the capability to make sound judgments (Kohlberg, 1971). The entire process of value development is lifelong and continuous (Nucci, 2002). Personal Values Personal values are almost like DNA, individual to one person. Personal values are those that define me as a person: •I believe that people are responsible for his/her own actions…•I believe in family unity…•I believe in compassion…•I believe in the importance of a good education…•I believe in having good work ethics…•I believe in love…•I believe in honesty…•I believe in choice…•I believe we are who we want to be…•I believe that we learn from our mistakes…•I believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy…•I believe my dad is...
