If you took this court , the school district would win. Philip’s suspension was not caused directly by singing the national anthem. Next, Philip was being disruptive in class. Additionally, Philip broke a few rules during his suspension. First of all, Philip’s suspension was not caused directly by singing the national anthem. On pg. 74, Philip Malloy says “She’s wrong. That’s all. She’s wrong. No way I’m apologizing.”, Philip is being rude by not apologizing to Miss Narwin. On pg. 76, Miss Narwin says “Quite provocative. Trying create an incident.”, Philip is being was being provocative in class, other than the fact that he was singing the national anthem. On pg. 80, Dr. Palleni says “Did you think she wouldn’t? Philip, you’re bringing a bunch of grief to yourself. And a brother to her. Now, last chance- apologize?” Philip Malloy “No.”, Philip is repeatedly not following Dr. Palleni’s orders. Secondly, Philip was being disruptive in class. On pg. 84, Mrs. Malloy “What rule?” Dr Palleni “disturbing a class”, Dr. Palleni mentions that Philip breaks the rule of “disturbing a class”. On pg. 77, Dr Palleni says “Now, Philip, I checked with Miss Narwin, and she is in agreement with you. You did break the rules. She also made a point of saying she was prepared to let bygones be bygones if you do as I suggested, apologize and promise not to do that again.”, Dr Palleni tells Philip that he did break the rules. On pg. 78, Dr. Palleni “And breaking a rule twice in one week after he’d been warned once”, Dr. Palleni tells Philip that he broke the rules again, after he broke that rule already.
