...Connecticut Valley School The purpose of this simulation is to properly disburse the capital budget funds for the next year at Connecticut Valley School. With the seven priorities listed, some will bring in money while others will not. Ranking is done by what will bring profit into the school quicker and that money will go toward other projects at a later time. Also, to focus on things that more less need to be fixed to ensure safety for students and staff. This year’s capital will be spent towards funding for a swimming pool, renovations to fine arts building, new roof for the hockey rink, wood chip heating system, upgrading the computer lab, new buses, and lastly renovations to the women’s locker room. This ranking should go well with the board of trustees because each project will benefit the one after it. The pool, if open to outside organizations will bring in revenue that will bring back the initial $640,000 invested in it in at least five years. The additional revenue earned could go toward helping the renovations of the fine arts building. If the school's mission is to focus on the liberal arts aspect, providing the best amenities will draw in more students. Of course the safety of students and staff is very important and even if the repairs for the hockey rink roof are delayed for a year, it is important to add that to the top of priorities. The longer the school waits to fix an issue such as this has potential of getting worse and no one's safety should be compromised...

Burden costs were calculated by dividing the sum of testing and engineering labor to get the burden rate. (Cooper, 1999) To calculate the burden, each lot was multiplied by the associated direct labor dollars then by 145% of the burden rate. ...Swimsuit The text swimsuit is a short story written by Jasmin Cargil. In the beginning of the story you can read about the main character Darla, who is at a pool party. A couple named Trevor and Mandy is hosting the pool party, and she was there with her boyfriend Jon. She is not wearing a swimsuit, and when Trevor tells her to join them in the pool, she would not do it. She lies and tells him that she did bring a swimsuit, and that she will join them later, but afterwards she thinks loudly that she did not bring any swimsuit because she hates to show her own body. She has a low self-esteem at that point, and I personally think that is has something to do with her relationship with her boyfriend Jon. He is not a sensitive guy, and she dose not take their relationship seriously: “Darla had realized earlier in the car that, if her relationship with Jon was not going to last, she would not really care much” she is ice cold, and she is tries to hide all of her feelings, by holding them back. When she finely tries to open up at the end of the story, she does it in an awkward way, by doing the exact opposite of what of what she do not like, and it was that she showed her naked body to the host Trevor. Darla, as mentioned earlier, is a very cold hearted person who does not really care about her boyfriend Jon that much, but he is not different from her. At the first page line 21 is the first example of their cold hearted relationship. Darla went to the bathroom the take an abortion...

...life goes. Life is not just a representation of emotions but it is a way of dealing with circumstances of the emotion. The monster that I have battled was moving from Connecticut to South Carolina. When I moved, it felt like one of the worst things that could have ever happen to me. I felt like my life was over. I can tell you that I was the person that took it the hardest. I had to leave my friends, my school, my neighbors, my church and my old house. I had to leave everything to be forced to a place where I knew nothing and no one. It was like leaving your favorite childhood blanket. I was going to a place where no one who knew my name better yet they could not even pronounce it. What a horrible lonely place. And no one even cared! Connecticut held a lot of memories. I had my first birthday party at 9 Rainbow RD, but I can’t remember the party. I remember the large yellow pick-up truck making a lot of noise as it backed up into the back yard. It was one early Saturday morning; they were removing dirt to make the room for the pool. This was...

...never seen this before but I feel as though this photo gives an extremely detailed overview of my life. The fate of most photographs usually consists of being overlooked and cast into the attic, yet every picture is a reminder of an important memory. However, photos such as school pictures, which can be seen throughout my house, seem useless to me. Often times in these pictures emotion tries to be built or controlled. A moment deserves to be captured when the subjects in it find themselves unable to hold back a smile or a prideful smirk not when one is forged. What good is a memory if it lacks emotion, the backbone of a picture? It is obvious that in my picture we are not overtaken by joy, however, emotion engulfs this photo. Determination and faith can be found in this mirror of a memory. My father has his hands around mine, preventing me from falling into the abyss. Maybe to an average person it would be called a swimming pool, but convincing the 3 month old version of myself that that was true would be quite a feat. This second nature act of protection is not what drew me to this photo. It was no great accomplishment to stand on the first step of the pool, true. A father has an innate desire for the well-being of his child, also true. But the value of this photo lies in the ambition of a son backed by the faith of a father. Strong character has always been prevalent in my life because of him. Throughout my life I have depended on my parents, as most children do and like...

...Athletic HISTORY The first modern-style indoor athletics meetings were recorded shortly after in the 1860s, including a meet at Ashburnham Hall in London which featured four running events and a triple jump competition. The Amateur Athletic Association (AAA) was established in England in 1880 as the first national body for the sport of athletics and began holding its own annual athletics competition – the AAA Championships. The United States also began holding an annual national competition – the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships – first held in 1876 by the New York Athletic Club.[14] Athletics became codified and standardized via the English AAA and other general sports organisations in the late 19th century, such as the Amateur Athletic Union (founded in the US in 1888) and the Union des sociétésfrançaises de sports athlétiques (founded in France in 1889). An athletics competition was included in the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 and it has been as one of the foremost competitions at the quadrennial multi-sport event ever since. Originally for men only, the 1928 Olympics saw the introduction of women's events in the athletics programme. Athletics is part of the Paralympic Games since the inaugural Games in 1960. Athletics has a very high profile during major championships, especially the Olympics, but otherwise is less popular. An international governing body, the International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF), was founded in 1912; it adopted its current...

A large upsurge in gas demand is foreseen in the future, to meet the unmet and latent demand, as Well as the future energy needs. Gas is necessary not only a clean fuel, but also will make up for the significant shortfalls between demand and supply of energy in the country. The government has made a big leap forward by increasing APM prices directly to USD 4.2/MBtu, creating a reference price representing currently to an estimated two thirds of gas supplies. Additional changes may happen. The idea of pooling gas prices is still under study. Briefing pool pricing mechanism: The Indian gas market needs to...

Now there’s a new line of shower gels for the guy who women can’t resist. It makes sense because, dealing with the countless hordes of women does tend to make one sweaty. So the creators of Axe have created a product that the modern day chick magnet can’t do without. The extended uncut ad has a guy waking up face down on his front lawn. He then proceeds to groggily get up and hit the shower, seemingly not remembering a thing about the night before. And then, all of a sudden, after using Axe Shower Gel, he has a flashback to a pool party. After waking from the pool party, he heads to the shower, gets cleaned up and is ready for more excitement. This time around, he ends up at what looks like a wanna be honky tonk, where of course the hottest girl in the place has her eye on him alone. They proceed to get away in either a motel room or her place, and end up doing what any young guy and girl do when alone in a room. Which is try on these huge animal heads one after another, and then act out certain scenarios such as whoever had the horse head on got to be rode as one. What makes this method valuable is that the organization can gear and steer the employee towards the very specialized need the organization requires. ...community’s activity program. Recently, Acre Woods added a pool to its rehabilitation center to facilitate resident exercise and aquatic therapy. The residents’ monthly rent was raised to help finance the pool. After the pool was constructed, Sarah immediately contacted the director of Acre Woods, Mark Adams, with concerns that the pool did not meet some important specifications included in the original design, such as nonslip treads on the stairs and improved wheelchair access to the pool area. Mark advised Sarah that the residents would be happy to have a pool, even if it did not incorporate all the requested special features. When Sarah asked why the new ramp and stair treads were not provided even though they were included in the budget, the director remarked that Sarah’s job was to provide physical therapy, not to worry about the budget. Over the next month, four Acre Woods residents had minor falls using the pool stairs. While the accidents were not serious, other residents began to express fears about using the pool. Sarah contacted Mark again to relate resident complaints and to stress the need for pool accessibility and safety improvements. Mark informed Sarah that she was the only member of the Acre Woods staff who was complaining or concerned about the pool; therefore, there was no issue. Mark said that he had a report from another Acre Woods physical therapist, Gene Levy, reporting that residents enjoy the pool and that it has expanded opportunities for physical therapy...

During the middle of their adventure it was brought to a abrupt stop. Scout explained, “Halfway through the collards I tripped; as I tripped the roar of a shotgun shattered the neighborhood.”(Lee,71). The tales the kids hear about Boo opened a door for them to use their imagination and wonder if there was any truths behind the stories. The quote shows the consequence they faced, when they allowed themselves to search for the truth and be curious. This is one of their enemies because they have no one to stop them. Another example is,when Atticus left the house at night with the car, which unusual for Atticus. ... Entering high school, I was a stranger to the gym. I rarely even set foot around gyms until my swimming career required it. I never felt the need or the motivation to lift weights or sweat around other people, but as I joined the high school swim team, I was greeted by many strongly built guys that truly knew their ways around the gym. The only thing that startled me was how short they were. I was quite taller than many seniors who seemed to be much stronger than me. Most importantly, my good friend Cole had inches on his brother who was 3 years older than him, but Cole had half the muscle. Also, many of these guys sported ice packs all around their body and seemed to be constantly injured. The constant strain of swimming and lifting weights had truly taken it’s toll on these guys, resulting in some worn down swimmers. Weightlifting in teens is risky business. Improper technique or lack of adult supervision can lead to stunted growth, countless injuries, chipped bones, and lower back pain, leading many concerned adults and coaches to avoid this training. Twice in my life already, I witnessed heavy weights being dropped on fingers and splitting them right open. This horrific injury personally happened to me freshman year of swimming, taking me out of the water for 2 weeks and hurting my season. Due to a simple, careless mistake, the weight dropped directly onto my finger, injuring me instantly. In an article written by the Strength and Conditioning Journal, people typically...
