I wouldn’t be fooling anyone if I said, there are no obstacles keeping me from school work. In my case I would have to say that time management is my biggest obstacle. For the most part I am able to delegate, so I can get in my required study time. However, there are those days when it just does not come together. I try to combat those days by keeping them to a minimum and working ahead as much as possible. By working ahead of myself, I build up a cushion that keeps me from being so far behind.
All priorities are not as important as others, though they are still important. Once I have identified what needs to be done, I then decide how I’m going to get it done. I work very well by writing my plans out; it helps me to visualize my goal. Once I have my plan mapped out, it’s time to put it into effect.
When prioritizing, I always have to revisit time management. Because I know this is such an issue for me, I have to go back here time and time again. I have limited the amount of overtime I put in at work. This has allowed me to pick my daughter up from school earlier and have her settled earlier than normal. I have gained on average an additional five hours Monday-Friday. This may not seem like a lot of time, but for me it is so beneficial. With this added addition of time I am now able to get my work done at a reasonable hour, get to bed at an earlier time, so I am well rested and ready for work. This allows me to focus and be more productive at work.
If you do not take the time to acknowledge your priorities, you are placing yourself at a huge disadvantage. By taking an extra 5-10 minutes to say what is more important and how you are going to accomplish the task, can mean the difference between an A+ and a
