Walt Disney is the one of the companies that I researched on what theories they implement in employee empowerment culture. The reason this company came to mind is because it is known as the happiest place on earth. A company that is known to be the happiest place on earth definitely caught my attention on how to implement what they have in place in our company. They have been successful for many years and keep going strong, so what better company to get guidance and mirror what they do for employee empowerment culture. Disney’s believes in developing their employees’ responsibilities and confidence in the Disney workplace. They build solid working relationships that enable the employees to feel great about themselves and customer relations. Disney has been categorized as a leader in theories on employee empowerment. Their culture is educating all the employees about the value and mission of Disney where an employee has to have dedication, passion, community skills, innovation, and quality in making Disney stand out every day in the business world (Disney, 2011). Disney offers great benefits that include child care, stocks, vacation, complimentary park passes, insurance, vacation, education reimbursement, service awards and development opportunities. This is a really good theory for one good reason and that is that Disney believes that an employee will spend minimal time in worrying on personal situations and maximum time in sharpening their skills on the job to satisfy the image of Disney (Disney, 2011). Disney keeps the employee motivated to excellence by empowering the employees with recognition and reward programs that are in place for recognition of employees who exemplify the vision and mission of Disney. The recognitions are for team performance or individual performance with its employee of the month where they are recognized monthly for their achievements (Disney, 2011). Disney theories bring stellar results in employee achievements, customer service and confidence in their employee to take ownership on their responsibilities to stay on track with the mission and vision that Disney has in place. If I was the senior manager in this situation with these results of success I would not change a thing and keep it moving forward to greatness in keeping Disney as the happiest place on Earth (Disney, 2011). The theory of penetration pricing in the marketing are that was interesting to me in researching was Wal-Mart stores. Their competitors were running between 50 to 100 advertising sales per year while Wal-Mart ran only a dozen a year. The founder of Wal-Mart Samuel Walton opened his first Wal-Mart on his philosophy of greatness in customer service, workplace, and having the lowest prices at all times (Wal-Mart Stores Inc, n. d.). The implementation of warehouse strategy of distribution that Wal-Mart started in building their own warehouses allowed them to buy in volume and store it for their stores. They started to build stores 200 square mile surrounding their warehouses to be able to restock when they ran out of merchandise. The warehouse distribution strategy cut the costs down and gave Wal-Mart control over merchandise and operations where merchandise was restocked as soon as it was sold, so advertising was a small cost to distribute (Wal-Mart Stores Inc, n. d.). All the theories of penetrating pricing that Wal-Mart uses is established from their mission of always having the lowest prices. All the savings that they make in advertising and restocking the shelves as helped them buy in volume to control cost to stay low that makes customer happy. It made Wal-Mart one of the first stores to go from 1 million to 1 billion in sales that was a record breaking achievement. The foundation was laid out before the first Wal-Mart was established with theories of having control of cost and merchandise has been the success to Wal-Mart (Wal-Mart Stores Inc, n. d.). If I was the senior manager in this situation to make changes in the way Wal-Mart was heading as a company in the marketing are in using a theory of penetration pricing would be no changes. The only suggestion that I would have is to be on the lookout for different merchandise and products to keep up with changes in time. Wal-Mart has an excellent theory and control of penetration pricing that gives them a step ahead of other competition.

Business Letters

...and was knighted two years later in 1908. Professional and Technical Writing/Business Communications/Letters Professional and Technical Writing/Business Communications/Letters Business Letters Business letters are written messages to a person or group within a professional setting. Business letters are used when the writer would like to be formal and professional. Letters may vary in length depending on the writer's objective, purpose, and message of the letter. The letter can address anyone including, but not limited to: clients and customers, managers, agencies, suppliers, and other business personnel or organizations. It is important to remember that any business letter is a legal document between the interested parties. These documents can be held for up to seven years, so it is important that all information is honest and legitimate. The Difference Between a Business letter and other letters The main thing that differentiates a business letter from other letters is that a business letter is a legal document. The writer can be held liable for anything written in the letter. For example, if it is stated that a project will be completed by a certain date in a business letter, the project legally must be completed by that date. However, if the project can't be completed by that date, another letter can be written stating that the project is behind schedule and why. For this reason, business letters must be written differently than letters...

...Writing is largely an iterative process that improves with practice. We have done a great deal of writing and revising in this course. We have also read Timothy Flood’s Business Writing in its entirety. Reflect on your writing skills and confidence five weeks ago and consider the progress you have made. Specifically, what new skills have you added to your writer’s repertoire that will help carry you through your graduate program? Discussion I Professor and Class, What an interesting five weeks. I am so happy we’re almost done! Five weeks ago, I struggle with getting started on writing. Today, I feel my writing skills have improved tremendously. I no longer struggle with getting started and I feel I am a much stronger writer compared to five weeks ago. I think the best advice I’d obtained from Flood and Thomas was being able to communicate to a diverse audience. Both Flood and Thomas brought awareness to writing clear and concise and using proper grammar, punctuations and to reframe from using slang, big words or using words that could have multiple meanings, which can be confusing to international readers. I also learned the importance of being able to convey my written intent to my audience the first time. This will ensure that my reader understand my intent and is able to respond to my request or instructions accordingly. Lastly, I discovered when writers incorporate business-writing techniques as part of their normal writing process (writing business or...

...BSAD 98 February 19th, 2015 Business writing is extremely important in the business world. A number of professional business representatives make persuasive arguments that university students are so bad at business writing. In this paper, I will explain the problems that students have when they write in the business environment. I will also define what good writing is and why it is significant for business students to have these skills. Finally, I will honestly assess my communication abilities by using examples and experiences. When college advisors say “students write poorly”, it means students are writing an article by using poor grammar, poor punctuation, poor vocabulary, and poor time planning. Lots of professional writers who have been working with students in universities found that university students cannot even provide a logical thought or reasoned argument. According to the poet and playwright Michelene Wandor, a large number of university students don’t know that a sentence is, what a verb is, what a noun is. The children’s author Yvonne Coppard agrees: “They have sentences that draggle all over the place, you can see whole pages without paragraphs, and as for speech punctuation.” Social media and instant messaging make students write informally and send out quickly. They tend to do the same thing when they plan to send out an email or a message in the workplace without thinking and proofreading it. A good writing is that the reader can clearly understand the purpose...

...April 21, 2015 Professor Mya Poe Advanced Writing Professor Northeastern University Boston, MA 02115 Dear Professor Poe, This semester has been a great learning opportunity for me and my writing skills. Before this class I was already comfortable with some of the learning goals presented on the syllabus, however, a few of them were strengthened with the projects we worked on. For example, before this class I would never peer review or revise my own papers. With the amount of revisions that were undertaken in all four projects, I feel that I have become more comfortable in the act of revision. Also, I was never good at incorporating forms of evidence to support my claims, ideas and arguments. This class was very helpful in showing how to take research and incorporate it into a project. Overall, this class has allowed me to strengthen my skills as a reviser, helped me “formulate and articulate a stance through my writing”, and helped me to use more forms of evidence to support my claims, ideas and arguments. Project 1 was the simplest of the four projects. I decided to analyze a research article on Marketing and how companies have started to move their businesses into developing nations. At first I didn’t think I would be able to write a rhetorical analysis on this article because of its length but after multiple revisions and help from peers I wrote my final draft. This was the one project where the revisions really helped me grow as a writer. Without these revisions...
