...Egg cup holder First of all, I clamped the acrylic in a bench vice with two pieces of wood either side of it just to make sure it would not scratch the acrylic. The acrylic that I used was rough around the edges so using flat file I Cross filed to get rid of any saw cuts and draw filed it to get rid of any scratches made from the cross filing until the scratches were gone all around. I then got wet and dry paper and used grade 1200, 600 and 400 grits to make the surface finish smooth and shiny, it also gets rid of any dirt and grain left after the filing from the edges. I slowly brushed my fingers across the edges to see if the surface finish was smooth I left the protective plastic on the acrylic so I could mark out the centre of the 4 sided shape, then I used the pillar drill to cut out the circle on the Acrylic. Health and safety is very important in the making stages so I made sure I was wearing my apron and goggles so I could protect my clothes from any spillages such as the water from wet and dry and also protect my face from any bits of acrylic or wood chips that could fly out during the drilling. After the drilling, I used a template to mark out where I needed to bend the acrylic to actually form the shape off an egg cup holder. The Boca Art Museum contains extraordinary galleries with many interesting pieces of art that come together to create an entire work of art in unity, and different portraits and framework with a variety of mediums. Viewers can see abstract sculptors placed in the outside garden giving the audience self-thought of understanding strange pieces that could mean anything; the meaning is individualized. The first gallery in the museum exhibits many different portraits of people, made up of different mediums such as pen and ink on paper, graphite on paper, and acrylic on canvas. A portrait created by the artist, “Pavel Tchelitchew,” named Mere Parizot a portrait of his mother, made it out of pen and ink on paper. The paper looks dyed or if it was once white or if it just colored through age. The detail of the portrait looks complicated with many lines to emphasize the features of the profile; the shading seems to be used by bleeding ink through the quill. Lighter areas have less bleeding. Another portrait created by the artist Jeri Metz, made a portrait of a woman named Selma out of graphite on paper. ...We have been in our new house just over a year and last spring we were so busy working on the inside that I did not have time to even think about the yard. But now with the inside somewhat complete, we can now focus on the outside. First up- creating a vegetable/fruit garden. I picked the back corner of the yard which receives full sun but is not directly in your line of sight when you look outside from the house. My original plan involved putting a short fence around it to keep pups out but after examining the soil we had to change our plans.
