...A Quantitative Analysis Of Apple's Present Value Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) announces earnings next week, and so we feel it is an appropriate time to quantitatively value the equity. Justification for a Weighted Averages Model To value this stock, we have employed a FCFE Weighted Averages Model (further explained below). We believe this model is an appropriate valuation method for all equities. In relation to Apple, we feel it is especially useful since Apple's growth can be qualitatively segmented: excellent short-term growth in the upcoming year due to iPhone 6 and Mac sales; good growth in the next 5 years due to brand relevancy and superior technology/products; and stable growth thereafter due to continued innovation. We affirm that the iPhone 6 will continue to post record-breaking numbers, and that Mac sales will continue their upward trend. We also credit the iWatch as having good growth potential for the company, as can be detailed here. We then affirm that Apple's growth over the next five years should be good, maybe even double-digit good, although we still think Apple could experience negative earnings growth (as they did from 2013 to 2012) if the iPad continues to slump, the iWatch doesn't take off, and Mac and iPhone sales stagnate. Further, we believe in the longevity of Apple. Apple has sustained itself as a dominant player in the tech realm for over a decade now, and we don't see that trend reversing in the long-run. Despite concerns over R&D spending, we believe those...

...Relationship of Glucose Values to Sliding Scale Insulin (Correctional Insulin) Dose Delivery and Meal Time in Acute Care Patients with Diabetes Mellitus Grand Canyon Introduction to Nursing Research NRS- 433V August 04, 2013 Relationship of Glucose Values to Sliding Scale Insulin (Correctional Insulin) Dose Delivery and Meal Time in Acute Care Patients with Diabetes Mellitus Introduction Managing blood glucose (BG) level in diabetic patients proves to be a challenging goal to insulin. The stand-alone method in many adult acute setting is the use of sliding scale insulin (SSI) to treat hyperglycemia. The goal within these settings is to maintain the BG level below 180 mg/dl (Trotter, Conaway & Burns, 2008). The researcher in the mentioned article, hypothesized that pre-prandial fingerstick glucose level obtained more than 30 minutes before meal, will show a variation in blood glucose value and the SSI dose required in treating the values (Trotter, Conaway & Burns, 2013). The research will describe variables seen in the BG levels as it relates to time obtained, the time SSI dose was administered and what time patient was given a meal. Protection of Human Participants Every research that involves human participants must following research guidelines to establish trust and to prevent the unethical treatment of participant Cahana & Hurst, 2008). An informed consent describing the purpose, benefits, and the disclosure of any risk associated with the study...

...Understanding Business Research Terms and Concepts: Part 2 Justin Wilson RES 351 Business Research 31 Mar 2015 Biman Ghosh Descriptive statistics is the term given to the analysis of data that helps describe, show or summarize data in a meaningful way such that, for example, patterns might emerge from the data. Descriptive statistics do not, however, allow us to make conclusions beyond the data we have analysed or reach conclusions regarding any hypotheses we might have made. They are simply a way to describe our data. Descriptive statistics are very important because if we simply presented our raw data it would be hard to visulize what the data was showing, especially if there was a lot of it. Descriptive statistics therefore enables us to present the data in a more meaningful way, which allows simpler interpretation of the data. For example, if we had the results of 100 pieces of students' coursework, we may be interested in the overall performance of those students. We would also be interested in the distribution or spread of the marks. Descriptive statistics allow us to do this. How to properly describe data through statistics and graphs is an important topic and discussed in other Laerd Statistics guides. Typically, there are two general types of statistic that are used to describe data: * Measures of central tendency: these are ways of describing the central position of a frequency distribution for a group of data. In this case, the frequency distribution...

...cause of a particular defect (Burrill, Ledolter, p.381). Data removes the trepidation and uncertainty of an unknown element. One reason for collecting data is to gain an understanding of the data by organizing and graphing the individual values (Albert, Rossman, p.1). Secondly, and most importantly, collecting data helps draw conclusions about a larger group of information (Albert, Rossman, p.1). There are other reasons to collect data. Data also helps people to understand the processes with which they work. Data can also be collected for the purpose of process control. Numerous manufacturing processes use feedback data to adjust an input, such as temperature, in order to keep the output at the desired level. Feedback data from quality control activities can be used to make adjustments that result in more products meeting their requirements (Burrill, Ledolter, p.381). Data can also be used to improve processes with the intent of increasing productivity. ‘Data is nothing, unless interpreted and turned into useful information.’ Data are usually collected through qualitative and quantitative methods (Hawe, Degeling, Hall, 1990). The purpose of this paper is to explore the variety of methods of data collection used in both qualitative and quantitative research. More specifically, to discuss the process of identifying research questions and selecting appropriate methodologies, understanding the difference between...

...picked for this assignment is gender for the qualitative data and intrinsic for quantitative data. The data selected will be discussed and analysis until a conclusion is made. For qualitative data I picked gender. I put gender because I felt that is was the best option of the two. The gender I picked was female. I picked female because I’m female. The quantitative data I picked was Intrinsic. I picked intrinsic because Of what the definition said it was which was belonging naturally. A qualitative variable is a variable without a sense of order. A qualitative variable is measured on a nominal scale. A nominal scale is a scale with no order but has some numeric values are nominal. An example nominal scale would be the data showed on the excel sheet for this assignment where male and female are showed as, 1-male and 2-female. Quantitative variables are numerical. An example of quantitative variables would be the number of people in a town which is a measurable attribute. Population is a quantitative variable. An easy way to remember the two variables is when you think of qualitative variables think or something being categorical and when you think of quantitative think of numerical. Qualitative variable The data above use qualitative variable. As stated before a qualitative variable is measured on a nominal scale. A nominal scale is a scale with no order but has some numeric values. An example nominal scale would be the data showed on the excel sheet for this assignment...

...qualitative and quantitative. Either type of data assortments hassome advantages to it and some restraints that may apply. The type of data you gather depends on the question you want to answer and your available resources. Each may be appropriate for contrasting settings, evaluation designs, and assessing questions.Qualitative data consist of words and narratives. The analysis of qualitative data can come in many forms including highlighting key words, drawing out themes, and amplifying main concepts to get a better understanding of your statistics. Qualitative data can be conducted a focus group with Ballard Integrated Managed Services, Inc. (BIMS) employees participating in a work morale satisfaction program to understand participant perceptions and behavior. If this route is chosen then the data that we collect would most likely be narrative in form and therefore we would use qualitative techniques to analyze the transcripts looking for content and themes relevant to the work moralesatisfaction program. “Quantitative data are measurements that are recorded on a naturally occurringnumerical scale”(McClave, Benson, Sincich p 13). In other words, quantitative data is numerical information which includes an analysis that involves statistical techniques, and the type of data we collect guides the examination process. For our circumstance here with Ballard Integrated Managed Services, Inc., utilizing the Quantitative method would certainly be the most appropriate. The quantitative data is...

...QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS: DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS Introduction Suppose that we have carried out a survey on the effect of carrying out a management audit with three groups of nine participant institutions each i.e. small medium and large. Each group was given the same survey questions in questionnaire format and the answers from the scores were tagged between 0 and 20. What is to be done with the raw scores? There are two key types of measures that can be taken whenever we have a set of scores from participants in a given condition. First, there are measures of central tendency, which provide some indication of the size of average or typical scores. Second, there are measures of dispersion, which indicate the extent to which the scores cluster around the average or are spread out. Various measures of central tendency and of dispersion are considered next. For this assignment, a survey is the type of data collection method in consideration and how the results of that survey would be analysed. SURVEYS Surveys are a very popular form of data collection, especially when gathering information from large groups, where standardization is important. Surveys can be constructed in many ways, but they always consist of two components: questions and responses. While sometimes evaluators choose to keep responses “open ended,” i.e., allow respondents to answer in a free flowing narrative form, most often the “close-ended” approach in which respondents are asked to select from a range of...

...which the sample was taken from (BD, 2017). There are several numerical summary measures that help us to make quantitative description of values as a whole in a data set, they are broadly placed into two main groups mainly centre of frequency and dispersion distribution (Pagano and Gauvreau, 2000). The mode, mean and the median are some of the mathematical measures used to arrive at the centre of frequency distribution, in descriptive statistics (Fields, 2013, pp....

The first stage in the innovation process is to find the “new” ideas and insights to commercialize. 2-To enable successful innovation, CEOs need to create both an innovation agenda and a culture tolerant of risk. This includes setting expectations for innovation, and developing methods to measure the success of innovation activities. 3- Transforming ideas to novel products, processes and services Effectively transforming ideas to commercially useful applications is not easy, and many innovations fail in this stage of the process. 4- Scaling value creation CEOs can realize value from innovations when they scale to successfully help to create significant revenues or generate substantial savings. Process vs Product innovation Product innovations are embodied in the outputs of an organization—its goods or services. For example, Honda's development of a new hybrid electric vehicle is a product innovation. Process innovations are innovations in the way an organization conducts its business, such as in the techniques of producing or marketing goods or services. Process innovations are often oriented toward improving the effectiveness or efficiency of production by, for example, reducing defect rates or increasing the quantity that may be produced in a given time. For example, a process innovation at a biotechnology firm might entail developing a...

...glory of God to conseal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out. " Qualitative research focuses on deeper issues and asked the questions of how, when and why people do things. Quantitative research behaves in a quantified since and assigns numerical values to responses and measure statics. With this said Proverbs, the bible verse, supports that research methods can be Godly. I interpret that verse as meaning that it is important to know and confirm in your mind that you know something, but it is better to research the topic in a biblical since rather thas a secular or worldly since. the glory of kings is researching and becomeing stronger on a topic. Pshycologists often study peoples behavior in how and why they do things. These psycologists can us Qualitative research to learn how to tell why people do the things they do. Statement 2 Romans 12:2 says,"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. In Quantitative research people study others behavior based on statics and numbers. Research methods can be ungodly because like the verse discribed, we are not suppost to conform to the patterns on this worl we live in. With quantitative reseach it is easy to follow the crowd and look at the statoics of what everyone else is going. The staticas give the answers to Peoples behaivio and that in my opinion is ungodly. ...Preparing to Conduct Business Research Part 1 through 4 RES/351 November, 05, 2014 Joydip Barman Preparing to Conduct Business Research Part 1 through 4 Organizations face various problems, issues, and opportunities. Applying the principles of business research allow companies to handle business in a profitable, forward focus manner. The following information Team A will explore the inventory issues facings the food services company Sodexo. The information will begin touring issues, opportunity, and problems facing the organization. Next, the paper will tour the meaning, the possibilities, the greatness, and the prospect of finding an explanation to the issue, opportunity, and problem that Sodexo committee faces in reference inventories. Finally, the report will look into why inventories is an important issue for researching, as well as why the issue can be made better with business research. Describe the selected issue, opportunity, or problem facing the organization. Sodexo is the fifth largest food service contract companies in the United States. The company contracts with services from hospital care to campus dining. Sodexo faces an issue at several accounts with their physical inventory not be reconciled with their computerized inventory applications. Inventories are linked to the financial health of that company contract. In accurate inventory counts can potentially lead to higher cost for the customers and in a worst case scenario it could cause a business...

And yet, to this day, the relationship between feminist theory and quantitative social science research remains uneasy. Among feminist scholars, quantitative research is often seen as suspect for its association with positivism and its pretense of objectivity (among other things). At the same time, among quantitative researchers, feminist-identified work is often dismissed as “biased,” “activist,” or “substantively marginal.” While a number of scholars have recently published works outlining a “feminist” approach to social science research, these books have generally steered clear of quantitative survey research. Some authors of feminist 1 2— Feminist Measures in Survey Research methods texts limit their discussion of feminist survey research to a small section (e.g., Hesse-Biber, 2007; Reinharz, 1992; Sprague, 2005), while others overlook survey research entirely (e.g., Hesse-Biber, Gilmartin, & Lydenberg, 1999; Jaggar, 2008; Naples, 2003). Sociologist Joey Sprague (2005) aptly describes the situation: Because feminists and other critical researchers have tended to assume that quantitative methodology cannot respond to their concerns, there are relatively few analyses of specific...

...evaluate the market need, size and competition. Market research is broken down into social and opinion research and is the organized assembly and explanation of information that involves individuals or groups that use statistics and a variety of analytical methods and or techniques of the chosen social sciences to obtain some sort of perception in order to support decision making. For many businesses market research involves discovering the needs, wants, and believes, of the targeted market. This can also involve the discovery of how the targeted market audience’s actions or reactions to a product. The two types of research that are conducted during the market research period are primary research that is divided into two categories which is quantitative and qualitative research and the second type of research being secondary research. Primary research focuses merely on the collection of original primary data. It is usually gathered after the researcher has obtained some understanding or awareness into the subject by revising the secondary research or by evaluating primary data that has previously been recorded. This type of research is conducted by various methods that may include questionnaires, direct observations made by experiments or closed subject groups are amongst these practices. Primary research is used extensively for market research, academic research, and to gain the...
