...Assignment 4.1: Report Plan Jeramy Haymes Professor Emily Whitby Eng. 315: Professional Communications February 25, 2014 Verizon Wireless Report Plan Verizon Wireless, also known as Verizon, is a company that sales cellular service such as smartphones and USB wireless modems in the United States of America. This report will be sent to Verizon Wireless Corporate Recommendations department. I will be proposing a recommendation to have our tier two technical support teams, to get upgraded computer systems that are faster and also include multiple monitors on the desktops. The need for this upgrade would be to help increase our customer service we provide to our external and internal customers by allowing calls to be handled in a more efficient manner. This will solve the system issues that when you have a customer account pulled up in our billing system and you also have the troubleshooting guide open that you are stuck on the troubleshooting guide. If you go back to the customer account then the troubleshooting guide is then hidden behind the billing system. You cannot use the normal “Alt plus Tab” or the “Ctrl plus Tab” on the keyboard to toggle the screens. You have to minimize all the screens you have to get back to the troubleshooting guide so you can continue to help the customer. Another issue this will address is the overall system slowness that occurs when trying to pull up and switch between multiple internet explorer screens. There are a few potential...

...ENHANCE YOUR REPORT IMAGE Whether in school or on the job, you must prepare and present reports. Written reports create an image of you – on paper. To achieve the most positive image, written reports must be prepared carefully and presented forcefully. To prepare an excellent report, Clippinger (1995, 11-12) suggest five equally vital steps that must be taken in the order listed: (1) plan; (2) draft; (3) revise; (4) edit; (5) format. Plan the Report To plan, ask: What is my purpose for writing, and what is the reader’s purpose for reading what I write? The answers become the core of the message. Compose and key the core idea. Then as they come to mind through listening, reading, and thinking, jot (on the computer screen) ideas and facts that related to the core idea. Next, check the list for missing items (and add them), unneeded items (and delete them), and redundant items (and combine them). Put the items in psychological order (main point followed by details, usually) and arranged them logically (in chronological, geographical, or importance order, for example). Finally, check the list to see that the items are tied together and related to the core idea. When appropriate, use tables, charts, or graphs to condense data; then list only summaries of what the visuals reveal in greater detail. Draft the Message To draft or compose the message, pretend that the reader is sitting before you. Write (at the keyboard) as you would talk with that person (level...

...accident in May and due to him not reporting the accident right away. PART 2: POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS There are four key issues that need to be addressed; should the crew still be awarded the prizes, ,why wasn’t the incident reported, is there any way to prove that Joe’s back injury is caused from the ATV accident verse the work incident, and lastly are there any other safety programs should be in place. The easiest issue to resolve is to decide if the crew should still be awarded the prizes. Should the crew still earn the rewards or should the entire right be punished because of one person. The next issue would be to determine why Joe did not report his injury. The management needs to decide if the crew is being bullied into not reporting accident’s to make the rig’s accident stat appear better than what it actually is or did Joe not report the incident out of ignorance? Is there any possibility that...

...A report is long document or a document that contains numerical data. But some organizations one or two page memos also called report. In others, PowerPoint slides printed out on paper can be viewed as reports. According to Locker, we must use the following steps in writing reports. 1. We must use time efficiently: Plan in advance how much time it is available to research and complete the report. It is helpful to draw up a timeline and set planning goals. 2. We must analyze the data and information: When analyzing our topic, we must ask ourselves series of questions, such as who is the intended audience for the report, and what do they want to know? What is the purpose of the report? For example, information reports collect data for the reader, analytical reports interpret data but do not recommend any action, and recommendation reports recommend action or a solution. (Locker, 2006). The following reports are good example of information, analytical, or recommendations reports depending on what they provide: Trip Report can share what the author learned at a conference or during a visit. Progress Report an academic report on how and why something has changed over time. Recommendation Report a report on how practical a proposal is. Credit Report s can simply summarize applicant’s income. Accident report is a report describing how someone was hurt or something was damaged 3. ...controller was assigned to each of the seven divisions, and they reported to the general manager of their respective division. Frank Bevins, Rendell’s corporate controller, was concerned about the organizational status of his divisional controllers, as they do not report directly to him. Consequently, the company was experiencing difficulties in implementing its modern control techniques due to the strained relationship between the corporate controller and the divisional controllers. Problem Identification The primary problem faced by Frank Bevins was that he felt he was not obtaining adequate information from the divisional controllers regarding the divisions’ budget and performance reporting. He suspected that it was due to the fact that the divisional controllers reported to their respective division’s general manager. The controllers’ primary loyalty was therefore to their division’s general manager, hence a biased report to the corporate controller. Bevins was facing a dilemma of whether or not Rendell should restructure its organization in such a way that would rectify this issue. Case Analysis The divisional controller’s task was to assist the general manager in budgeting and providing performance report.
