Due to the uniqueness of software projects there is no single Agile development approach that ideally fits all project contexts. Each software project is unique, whether in its subject area, development team, or project size. Because of this, adapting Agile practices according to project circumstances is a must. There has been a number of literature published discussing Agile practices...

...BU3315 Unit 4 Research Paper 2 Forecasting Model in Use For this research paper I used a study done by Sprint for forecasting usage costs and computer capacity required for their network and cell phone towers. The use of data related to transactions collected from computing devices in their facilities was used to calculate a forecast of usage at peak hours. This study was done in the early stages of Sprint becoming a cell phone company and it is still used today to help upgrade and maintain their network. This helped Sprint determine a forecast of data usage on customer cell phones so they could determine the type and amount of equipment needed to get ample coverage and network bandwidth to provide their cell phone service to the customers. The methods they used were 5 variables used in their forecasting model; 1. First span of time comprises usage in seconds, minutes, hours, days, months and years. 2. Computing device comprises at least one of a server, telecommunications switch and computer 3. Data collection of computing software processes, computer programs used, business logic model, and software usage (apps) 4. Software usage at server farms 5. Threshold percentage representing actual customer airtime usage By doing this Sprint was able to determine the demand that customers would be putting on their networks and the bandwidth being used. The first inclination was to build a massive network of coverage all across America to stake claim to...

...Sprint Performance Management System Douglas Tennyson Excelsior College Abstract Every company needs to have a performance management system in place to build employees into what the company desires from them, to help them retain the best employees and to assist with active communication. Sprint seems to have a performance management system today that is much better than it was previously and this paper will explore the current performance management system and compare it to the old one and also make recommendations as to what Sprint can do to improve their current system. Sprint is a telecommunications company that specializes in mobile devices and mobile service. They currently hold fourth place in the mobile provider market being overtaken by T-mobile in 2015 according to a report on RCwireless.com with Verizon and AT&T maintaining a firm grip at the top of the market share. "The report found that "no major shifts in market share among the major four carriers" between now and 2020" (Kinney, S. (2015). One of Sprint's bigger problems was their employee turnover rate; they were losing employees faster than they were getting new ones. This would be a problem for any company, but especially for a company that is in the cutthroat business of cell phones and service. Trying to grow and take more of the market when you can't keep the trained employees created a problem for Sprint and they knew they needed to address this. "In July 2002, Towers Perrin released a...

...Sprint Planning Optimization in Agile Data Warehouse Design Matteo Golfarelli, Stefano Rizzi, and Elisa Turricchia DEIS - Univ. of Bologna, V.le Risorgimento 2, 40136 Bologna, Italy {matteo.golfarelli,stefano.rizzi,elisa.turricchia2}@unibo.it Abstract. Agile methods have been increasingly adopted to make data warehouse design faster and nimbler. They divide a data warehouse project into sprints (iterations), and include a sprint planning phase that is critical to ensure the project success. Several factors impact on the optimality of a sprint plan, e.g., the estimated complexity, business value, and affinity of the elemental functionalities included in each sprint, which makes the planning problem difficult. In this paper we formalize the planning problem and propose an optimization model that, given the estimates made by the project team and a set of development constraints, produces an optimal sprint plan that maximizes the business value perceived by users. The planning problem is converted into a multi-knapsack problem with constraints, given a linear programming formulation, and solved using the IBM ILOG CPLEX Optimizer. Finally, the proposed approach is validated through effectiveness and efficiency tests. Keywords: Agile methods, Optimization, Data warehouse design. 1 Introduction As empirical studies suggest [9,2], agility is one of the most promising directions to overcome the problems of traditional software engineering approaches. The twelve principles stated in the Agile...

...Sprint-Resisted Training Rashad Jefferies FIT 125-G2 Sprint-Resisted Training Training within sports is a vital part of becoming a world class athlete. Without the proper training, workouts, diet and willingness to put the time and work in, becoming a world class athlete is not likely to happen in your future. We have grown up in our lives and have had visions and dreams of becoming our favorite player. There were times when we as children would try to emulate popular sports figures Michael Jordan, Carl Lewis, Barry Sanders, the late Walter Payton and Wayne Gretzky. These sports figures that I mentioned have been named as greats in their perspective sport and they did not get there by just talent alone. As I was growing up playing football, I wanted to be just like Walter Payton. The moves that he would perform on the football field week in and week out were amazing to my eyes and wanted to be just like him. Walter Payton had the total package; he had the moves, the strength and the speed to make defenders miss or he was able to just run right through a defender or outrun anyone trying to chase him down. He was just pure poetry on the football field. I was a good sized young football player up until the age of 13 when I stopped growing. I had the strength, because of doing push-ups and lifting weights, while my moves were also great because I practiced them every week. The only problem that I had left was becoming a faster back...

...After doing some research, I have come to the conclusion that Sprint is the best place to work. In this paper I will compare Sprint’s benefits, turnover rate, and financials to that of AT&T and Verizon Wireless. Once I have completed this paper, I am sure you will agree with me. I will begin with AT&T. AT&T has some wonderful benefits. It provides its employees with medical, dental, and vision plans. It gives employees a 401k savings plan/pension plan. Employees get paid time off. Students can get tuition reimbursement. And they also provide life/accident insurance. Employees are offered discounts on AT&T products and services. They are given adoption assistance, leave of absence, and ongoing employee training. They also have the option to purchase veterinary insurance for their pets, as well as auto and home insurance. Because of the Union, they provide excellent benefits. They give you a set schedule. They give you good pay with a chance to earn more through commission. According to AT&T Inc Company’s Financial information, their earnings are currently $1.25 million. The only downside that I have found is according to glassdoor.com, they have a 90% turnover rate. After the employee has made a sale, they are encouraged to give poor customer service. In March of 2011, Verizon was using some sought-after benefits to recruit new employees. They had 900 positions to fill. They were offering health, dental and vision insurance...

...Group5? Sprint 1 Garage for tractor. Positive Splitting the user story into tasks and splitting the tasks between people went well and everyone had opportunity to participate. However we never really did it in a more organized way. we had communication with the team building the tractor to decide the size of the garage (however it was not enough and we didn’t notice them changing the size). Negative Went in blind, no clear idea how large anything was supposed to be. No-one had picked the actual tractor by the time we picked the garage. Maybe we should have, as it was higher on the priority. Lead to wrong size of tractor supplied by the other group and a way too large garage in reply. Too high velocity planned, didn’t take fetching parts into the account, which took longer than expected due to all the people. It also took time to organize people and to figure out scale of buildings Sprint 2 Re-done garage and canoes. Positive Lower velocity to 15 from 20 lead to us being able to rebuild the garage (13pts) and add in the small user story for canoes as well (2pts). Also because a member disappeared We did not accept new requirements during the sprint. Might have been more due to being irritated than knowing what we were doing. Communication in the group worked very well and splitting up the tasks was fast. As we had already collected the needed parts in the last sprint we didn’t have to spend as much time on that. Except for the canoes. Communicated with Product...

...companies are reaping in the rewards. With all the added features of today's basic cell phone, the devices are also becoming a primary source for television, cameras, mp3 players and personal computers. Cell phones have served as a security tool for parents who want to keep an electronic eye on their children while still keeping their distance. They can be your GPS when you are lost in the middle of nowhere. They can be your best friend in an emergency or if you find yourself in any other tight spot. I once had a classmate who told me that he had a paper due in less than 45 minutes and he wrote and submitted it on his Blackberry. For these reasons and many more, the cell phone industry has exploded in the last quarter century and some of the major service providers have made profit hand over fist. This narrative is meant to give the reader an insight into Sprint; one of the top three service providers here in the U.S. The Sprint company began in the late 1800's as the Brown Telephone Company based out of Abilene, Kansas. Started by visionary Cleyson Brown, the Brown Telephone company was originally meant to challenge the local power, Bell Telephone Company. Bell, which owned all important patents related to the telephone, enjoyed a monopoly on local telephone service. But in small towns like Abilene, Bell service was expensive and often viewed by the public as big business. In addition, Bell's patents were about...

...sound about decision making, and do they hold veracity when it comes to the reliability of their company. One could ask what is ethics and conduct? Ethics is depicted as, “rules of behavior that is based on ideas about what is morally good and bad,” (Merriam-Webster, 2014). Conduct is described as, “ a mode or standard of personal behavior especially based on moral principles,” (Merriam-Webster, 2014). Companies hold a Code of Ethics and Conduct to “guide and reference its employees on how the business should be operated. It also clarifies an organization's mission, values and principles, linking them with standards of professional conduct,” (Ethics Resource Center, 2009). Throughout this paper we will observe the Code of Ethics and Conduct of three major companies, AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint Wireless, and compare each code to the determination and drive these companies have behind pleasing their patrons. Key Issues Critical for Success Modern day wireless phones companies have expanded past exclusively manufacturing and selling wireless phone products. AT&T is one major wireless company that has expanded their ventures, and now in addition to selling wireless phone products they sell mobile broadband...

It is about using pictures in order to retrieve memories connected to it and one process that makes use of pictures is called picture superiority effect. Most studies of the picture superiority effect have involved tests of memory for the occurrence of individual events, such as recall in which is the main objective of this study. If pictures however, receive complete semantic processing than words, this difference in processing could be an advantage for both memory of the individual pictures and for associations formed between pairs of random pictures. This research also intends to use the Anime and mobile game learning app in order to prevent forgetting what was present at young age. ...A and P Health and Fitness Paper My fitness goal is for me to run a mile in under six minutes in the four week range I had. I chose this goal because this would benefit me for my health and sports wise. the motivation that made me pick this particular goal is that i needed to get my encurance/cardio up in general. i usually go to the gym and do weights but never cardio or the tredmill. This goal would even benefit me in baseball for numerous reasons. I wouldnt get tired easy with any exercises i do in anything. i would even think this goal could get me stronger in the legs too. To attain this goal i set myself some steps to achieve this goal. I put myself on a god leg workout plan. Working out my legs would get me more faster than i am now. Another routine i did was run with some of the track team. The track team had some helpful routines and tips for running the mile. Spme of the runners timed me on the miles i ran each week. I would get faster because i also ran sprints that got my cardio up. After i usually ran the tredmil at home in the evening. I kept track of my routines on a log that was given to me prior to the goal i set. To me this goal wasnt very difficult for me as i worked through the steps because i set myself at a good pace for everything. The relevant information i searched for my goal was alright. It mainly told me what to eat or some workout routines. I seartched on how to get faster mile times on google. It gave me some websites but mainly just...

I will be using my iPhone 6 to connect to a wireless network. Primarily, I made sure that my phone was on. Subsequently, I went to Settings and located the Wi-Fi tab. Continuously, I ensured that the Wi-Fi switch was switched to on, as shown in Figure 1. Following, I obtained the network name. The network name did not show up, meaning that the network was a hidden network. Nevertheless, I had to tap on Other… to manually type in the network name, CFT_Wireless. Since the network I provided is protected, I will then click on the Security tab to select the type of security the network uses. In this case, it uses the WEP, also known as Wired Enterprise Privacy, security type. To finish, you will enter the password that was setup by either the ISP or the administrator – cft#1. To substantiate that I am connected to the Wi-Fi, I can either launch...

...Exercise Physiology Test Name: Justin Dueyen Athletes and other sportsmen such as soccer players require a pre participation routine before the start of a match or any routine practice. Such routines should include a warm up session that is followed by a stretching session. The warm up session functions to elevate core temperature by engaging in some light calisthenics or light running (White, 2008). In turn, this increases extensibility and flexibility of muscles and tissues. Similarly, the stretching routine also serves to increase the extensibility and flexibility of muscles and tissues. This paper will give the rational for using dynamic stretching, its benefits and the specific movements that one can use during the stretching process. Dynamic stretching is among the preferred stretching techniques used by a majority coaches. It involves the controlled swinging of both arms and legs without stretching out of one’s range of motion. In this case, the stretch is produced by both active muscular contractions and momentum (Reilly, 2007). During dynamic stretching, one uses certain movements depending on their sport in preparation for body movement. This type of stretching tends to be confused with ballistic stretching. This is because if one stretches beyond their static ability, it is no longer dynamic stretching but rather ballistic stretching. This routine of dynamic stretching should begin from low intensity and gradually progress to...
