...De’Von Deas December 16, 2013 Major Farese AFROTC Responsibility The responsibility of a student at school is very important. If something where to happen to him/her the person’s life at school could be majorly affected. There is a way though to help; the person can work at getting good grades, studying hard, and facing the consequences of his action. Some people say that their responsibility at school isn’t to be worried about, but it is, and here are few ways to help. First, is getting good grades. If students don’t have good grades, or the responsibility to get them, they can be in a lot of trouble. The student could be held back, have to take a summer school, or work much harder to get her grades up. If a student is held back it could really affect him from not getting into the college of choice, or even a choice sport. Next, is a student needs to study hard. If a student doesn’t have the responsibility to study this it could easily affect something major such as a test or quiz score and get the person in a predicament. The consequences would be just as bad as not getting good grades and maybe even worse! Finally, is facing the consequences of a student’s action. When something does happen, such as not getting a good grade, or being held back, then a student should face it or something worse could happen. For example if you fail a test you could retake it and try to do better. This could fix your grade problem and help you in a major way. These are the reasons students...

...Personal Responsibility David S Larsen March 27, 2013 Personal Responsibility Attending College can be difficult in the best of times but even more so today with all the external pressures associated with education including economics and sociological pressures. There are stresses all around students in college, everywhere they look. Students feel pressure to do well, to learn the material, to impress the teacher, to please their parents, to take care of themselves financially and sociologically. For many students, college will be the first step into adulthood and the first time that they really have to take responsibility for their own lives. A person finally breaks free from their parents or guardians and has to do for themselves. Therefore it is important to accept this responsibility and also to be accountable for choices and the actions that are perpetrated by the individual. One of the ways that a person can take responsibility for themselves is to reduce the stress and thereby do better in their scholastic endeavors. Researchers have determined the top ten most common hassles associated with attending college which contribute to stress. These include: fear about the future, lack of sleep, wasting time, smoking and its health effects from either first or second-hand smoke, their physical appearance, the feeling that they have too much to do, misplacing or losing important materials or personal property, not having enough time for the things...

...Ethnical Responsibility for businesses When companies are making billions of dollars because of the hard work of their employees I believe it’s time to pay it forward. So yes, I do believe that a business has an ethical responsibility to give back to society. Shareholders are making high six figures salaries for watching the workers work and maybe sometimes in a blue moon improving the work flow. But for the people who actually have to spend more than 9 hours at a job a day for five or more days a week, putting their bodies and health on the line should be getting paid more than $9.50/hour. A family of four cannot successfully live off an income of $25,000 a year, unless they honestly have no bill which is highly unlikely. I believe a business who makes millions and have the extra money should praise their workers with that extra dollar or two raise. I also think that to help motivate people and to give back having things such as a once a year or even up to 3 times a year cookout is giving back. This will give the workers a place to eat for free or even pay a certain price for the family to eat free. It will give coworkers a break from only meeting up to work and everyone will be able to meet and get to know each other. A business that has given raises to their employees would be Brazos County. The juvenile officers have received an almost $1.30 raise and the jail officers have received an almost $2.00 raise. They also give back by hosting holiday events for staff and...

...Mass Media: A platform to give strength to the weak or a loaded gun in the hands of humanity? “The media’s the most powerful entity on earth…because they control the minds of the masses” (Malcom X, 2012). Media has responsibilities and these responsibilities need to be clarified and upheld by society. Unfortunately, media today does not abide by moral standards, which in turn sends mixed messages to our society. Often times these messages are demoralizing, desensitizing, and false. Young people and adults alike are trying to navigate through their lives and through the world with a broken compass. The role media plays in issues such as self-worth, bullying, and suicide need to be addressed and revised. I will discuss media and its role and responsibility through the perspective of both a classical and contemporary ethical theory. The classical theory that will be discussed is virtue ethics, which is the study of the virtuous character of a person (Mosser, 2010, p.1.7). The contemporary theory that will be discussed is emotivism, which is basing one’s moral decisions on one’s feelings and emotions (Mosser, 2010, p.1.8). Concluding, I will discuss which theory is closer to my own personal view and why I chose that particular theory. While freedom of speech and personal connection are very important, age appropriate moral standards should be upheld in the media because media plays a significant role in suicide, bullying, and self-worth. According to Mosser...

This is VERY beneficial. 2.It is easy to understand your rights. 3.It sets FIXED NON-NEGOCIABLE boundries, duties and resposibilities to the governmental bodies. 4.It can be "re-interpreted" over the generations without having to be modified. Disadvantages (from the point of view of Government): 1.Hard to change. 2.It is easy for you to understand your rights 3.It sets FIXED boundries, duties and resposibilities to the governmanetal bodies. 4.It can be "re-interpreted" over the generations without having to be modified. ADVANTAGES: UNWRITTEN An unwritten constitution based on conventions has the advantage of being extremely adaptable or flexible. Since it is unwritten, it can be changed easily to deal with new situations. All that is necessary for the practises to be changed is for Parliament to agree that change is necessary. Old constitutional practises do not become 'millstones' that make it difficult to deal with changed circumstances. There is an entrenchment, but one that given democratic consensus may be more easily modified than as a written constitution. So long as democratic processes are in place and Parliament and the Judiciary act as elected guardians, then in many ways the British Constitution appears more fitted to reflect a changing world and changing circumstances. Unwritten Constitution changes to reflect the times in which we live. DISADVANTAGE: It carries risks. If a constitution is to place limits on government...

...Is a dog park really a good idea? In this essay I will explain why I do not think a public dog park is a good idea. A dog park would cost us taxpayers even more money. Dogs are not always obediant and can be a problem for public saftey. The responsibility should be the dog owner problem for their dog getting excersice. I for one am not a wealthy person and do not have any extra money to pay for something I wont even use. Money is a necesity and I do not want to spend my hard earned money on a public dog park, that a lot of non-tax payers will probably be using, more than those of us that do pay for it. Many dogs are very hyper active and get excited way too easy. When dogs get overly excited they tend to unintentionaly nip or bite. Also...

...International Management: Managing Across Borders and Cultures, Text and Cases, Seventh Edition SEVENTH EDITION FEATURES • Streamlined text in eleven chapters, with particular focus on global strategic positioning, entry strategies and alliances, effective cross-cultural understanding and management, and develop- ing and retaining an effective global management cadre. The seventh edition has been revised to reflect current research, current events and global developments, and includes company examples from the popular press. In Chapter 1, we introduce trends and developments facing international managers and then expand those topics in the context of the subsequent chapters. For example, we discuss developments in globalization and its growing nationalist backlash— in particular resulting from the global financial crisis. We discuss the effects on global business of the rapidly growing economies of China and India and other emerging economies such as those in Africa, and the expansion of the EU; the globalization of human capital; and the esca- lating effects of Information Technology and the global spread of e-business. We follow these trends and their effects on the role of the international manager throughout the book. For exam- ple, in Chapter 6 we focus further on strategies for emerging markets, while also dealing with changing strategies to respond to economic decline around the world and an increasing level of nationalism in some industries; we have a...
