If cuts need to be made, the best way to break the news to employees without causing any alarm is to focus on the perks they will be keeping, while also bringing to light the potential for other perks based on individual performance. Some employees may feel more at ease if given some kind of say in the process of which perks are cut. This can be achieved by conducting a survey. By asking what's most important to each person, and analyzing the information gathered, the decision process becomes somewhat easier for management. By giving the employees a choice of which perks stays, and which perks are cut, the employees have a chance to analyze which are more beneficial to their overall morale, and which are of little significance to them.
