Being a Photographer Is Seriously Awesome.

...Being a photographer is seriously awesome.  1. CAPTURE A MEMORY THAT YOU CAN HAVE FOREVER With a photo you can capture a moment, and have it forever. I think we take that idea for granted, with photography being so ubiquitous these days. But seriously just take a second to appreciate that. If you did that in Ancient Greece they’d call you a sorcerer. Or a god. 2. SHARE IT WITH THE IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN YOUR LIFE One of the top ways people got into photography was through someone important to them. People credited their mother, father, aunt, uncle, grandmother, grandfather, sibling, friend and even great-grandparents. Photography is a passion that you can share with the important people in your life. You can pass it down to the next generation, and spur their love of this amazing art. 3. EXPRESS YOURSELF Your unique perspective can go further than just showing people how you see a scene. Photography also lets you express yourself—your opinions and beliefs. You do this by choosing what you photograph, and how you represent it. This aspect of your photography is ever-changing as you change. You get a sense of what a photographer is like as a person by looking at their body of work. This part of photography is absolutely fascinating as a viewer, and fulfilling as a shooter. 4. A GREAT CHALLENGE Now, there is actually a lot more to photography than just pointing the camera at something and pressing the button. That’s where you start. But learning to become...

Is Un Peacekeeping Seriously Flawed?

...Is UN Peacekeeping seriously flawed? Hello fellow students, I am one of the debate leaders this week. I hope we can all bring some valid points to this debate, enjoy… Firstly I believe to fully understand what peacekeeping is, we should explore the meaning “peacekeeping” and how that is relevant to this debate. The Collins World English Dictionary defines peacekeeping as the maintenance of peace, esp. the prevention of further fighting between hostile forces in an area. The broad consensus on the term “peacekeeping” is a little different however - non-violent intervention, being the voice of reason and bearing witness to (and in the way of) violent and oppressive acts; tend to be what the average person would recognise as peacekeeping. How does this align with the current operational expectations of the United Nations in regards to peacekeeping? The UN commenced peacekeeping duties during the Cold War as a way to resolve conflict (aid the resolution) by observing the peace process as a neutral party. Since that time the United Nations Security Council has approved and engaged peacekeeping troops all over the world into many civil and international situations. However is this visual form of peacekeeping effective? Does having a military force on the ground that is committed to the protection of the civilian population in a war zone or facing inevitable oppression really work? In theory the answer is yes, frankly I think you would have to be inhumane to say otherwise. However...

Tinder And Bumble Are Seriously At War Summary

...According to Henry Cheeseman, the author of a textbook titled Business Law: Legal Environment, Online Commerce, Business Ethics, and International Issues, intellectual property accounts for over one-half of the value of large companies in the United States (131-132). On April 4th, 2018, an article written in the New York Times titled, “Tinder and Bumble are Seriously at War”, by Valeriya Safronova tells the story of two similar applications at war over intellectual property. Match Group, which owns dating applications and websites such as Tinder, Match.com, OkCupid, and Plenty of Fish, sued Bumble, another dating application, for violating its patents and trademarks, and for a misuse of trade secrets. Patents, trademarks, and trade secrets all fall under the category of intellectual property. Intellectual property is a term that describes “patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. Federal and state laws protect intellectual property rights from misappropriation and infringement” (Cheeseman 131). Intellectual property falls under the category of property rights known as intangible rights, which are not physical objects. Intellectual property is very significant for companies in...

Did the 1905 Revolution Seriously Threaten the Tsar?

...Did the 1905 Revolution seriously threaten the position of the Tsar? It could be argued that the "supposed" 1905 Russian Revolution seriously threatened the position of the Tsar as the outrage that was shown towards the Tsar and the government came from a wide range of classes from the society. The 1905 revolution was a result of huge public discontent by 3 main classes; the peasants, workers and the liberals. These groups were especially angry at the Tsar due to three main reasons; heavy taxation, poor living conditions for the workers and the humiliation the liberals felt from the defeat of the Russo-Japanese war which caused the public to riot and demand the Tsar to make changes. This is what makes us question whether the 1905 revolution ever really threatened the position of the Tsar as the Tsar still had the militaries loyalty which led to him being able to easily control the undivided oppositions which also helped the Tsar a lot as he was able to sort out the small opposition groups separately rather than one massive one. However, we can then question the amount of impact done to the Tsar which then proves how much the Tsar was threatened by the 1905 revolution. From this, we can clearly see how the Tsar was affected in the short term and the long term. As previously mentioned, the Tsar still maintained the loyalty of the army and the police which is an important factor as to why the 1905 revolution did not threaten the position of the Tsar. As the Tsar still...

Doh Now Taking 'Tawa-Tawa' Seriously

...DOH now taking 'tawa-tawa' seriously in fight vs dengue CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga, Philippines – A weed known as tawa-tawa has become a serious matter for the Department of Health (DOH), which is now considering the proposal of herbalist and former health secretary Jaime Galvez Tan to fund a research on the plant as possible panacea to the fatal bleeding among dengue victims. Health Assistant Secretary Elmer Punzalan said here yesterday that the Philippine Traditional and Alternative Health Care (PTAHC), an agency under the DOH, is now coordinating with Tan on the latter’s proposal for a P20-million research fund to finally establish whether tawa-tawa arrests bleeding, which is the main reason why dengue victims die. The weed is said to prevent hemorrhaging by normalizing platelet count in the blood. According to latest DOH reports, dengue cases in the country this year have already breached the 90,000 mark. Punzalan bared this in a press conference during the launch here of the two-day Generic Medicine Expo for Luzon, a joint project of the DOH and the National Center for Pharmaceutical Access and Management, in partnership with SM Prime Holdings Inc. The expo aims “to boost and sustain advocacy on quality affordable medicine through generics’ use and its role and importance in improving wellness and compliance of patients to treatment regimens.” Earlier, Dr. Eric Tayag, chief epidemiologist of the DOH, dismissed tawa-tawa as cure for dengue as not enough research on it...

Analysis Of Eva Feder Kitty's Article Taking Dependency Seriously

...Eva Feder Kitty’s journal article “ Taking Dependency Seriously: The Family and Medical Leave Act Considered in Light of the Social Organization of Dependency Work and Gender Equality” was an article that I felt was relatable. This is due to my position working for In Home Supportive Service (IHSS) which has allowed me experience first hand the struggles with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) due to the limited time they are offered. The goal of In Home Supportive Service (IHSS) is to give people who are at risk of being place in a home an opportunity to continue to live in their own home independently with assistance from a caretaker. Once eligible for the program they are then able to hire a caretaker at the current rate of $10.65...

High School Standards

...Standards in high school should be higher instead of lowering it. Some students don't feel challenged enough in school with the stuff they are learning. Students are often not taking school seriously because school standards are too easy for them, and they feel like they don't need to do anything. It also prepares you for the workforce. First, we are going to talk about why students don’t feel challenged enough in school with the stuff they are learning. Some students don't feel challenged enough in school with the stuff they are learning. With academic standards that are remaining the same high school students are not challenged enough but with the standards high they will feel challenged enough by the time they have finished school. What's in a Name

..."What's in a name? Misidentifying the Debtor under Revised Article 9. This article addresses the harsh penalties imposed on a creditor for incorrectly naming a debtor entity on a financing statement. As you might expect, misidentifying a debtor on a financing statement can mean the difference between having a secured claim and an unsecured claim. However, what you might not expect is the degree of error necessary to render a financing statement “seriously misleading” under revised Uniform Commercial Code §9-506, thereby rendering it ineffective. The new legal standard, coupled with strict search logic standards being adopted by filing offices are making it much easier to challenge the perfection of a security interest on the basis of minor errors in the debtor’s name. So… "What's in a name? Well, when trying to perfect a security interest under Revised Article 9, “that which we call a rose by any other name definitely does not smell as sweet." INTRO: [PMSI] In today’s economy, selling unsecured on open account may carry significant risk for vendors. However, taking a security interest in the merchandise sold may reduce or eliminate such risk. This type of security interest, called a purchase money security interest or "PMSI", is the most common and important secured transaction under article 9. To obtain a valid PMSI, the debtor must first execute a security agreement giving the vendor a security interest in described merchandise. Then, the vendor perfects...

Sexism Against Men

...Sexism against men in school. Sexism against guys in our society is not taken seriously. Girls can get away with a lot more than guys can now a days. There are things that girls can do and it is acceptable in society that guys cant do. It is unfair to treat guys differently. The way we view sexism against men need to change. It needs to be stopped. Don’t get me wrong, we have come a long way since the eighteen hundreds. Women are able to vote, own property, get jobs, and so forth. I am all for women’s rights and women’s suffrage. Girl power is great. Women are taken seriously now and that’s great. The way we used to treat women was bad. It was a don’t ask don’t tell thing. Like if a man was cheating on his wife or beating his in the early nineteen hundreds people didn’t speak of it. The women was the mans property and he could do whatever he wanted. Now things have changed, laws have been made and enforced. Now its looked down upon to beat your wife and you will go to jail. Now there are all sorts of sexual harassment laws that are mostly enforced for the protection of women. In school the other day, there were some sophomore girls that made up a game. You got a certain amount of points for touching senior guys butts. I think it was forty or fifty points for grabbing or slapping their butt. Then you got twenty for “grazing” a guys butt. If sophomore guys played that game with senior girls, all of us would probably be expelled and charged with sexual harassment. ...

Norovirus

...Over the months there has been an outbreak where a new strain of norovirus called GII.4 Sydney has affected people’s stomachs around the world causing gastroenteritis causing symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, headaches, chills, sore throat, and a low grade fever. Even though there is no treatment or vaccines to prevent infection, this virus should be taken seriously as it is highly contagious and death may occur to the young, elderly, and critically ill. Therefore, practicing proper hygiene and food protection, and potable water-supplies can help prevent Sydney from spreading. There currently is neither treatment nor vaccines that prevent infection from this virus. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, also known as CDC, “there is no drug to treat people who get sick from the virus”. This is why people should take Sydney seriously. Another example that shows that there is no treatment is because antibiotics solely fight against bacteria and not viruses, antibiotics will not help fight this infection. The people around the world are in danger as not even antibiotics will help them fight off this vicious infection. Moreover, Sydney is highly contagious and caution should be taken when in crowded areas. Even though there is no treatment or no vaccines, people should take Sydney serious because it’s highly contagious. According to NBC News “Right now, it’s too soon to tell whether the new strain of norovirus will lead to...

Box Full Perfection

...“fabulous” life. And how is the important again? Exactly, it’s not. Staring at a "stupid box" with moving pictures that shows “perfect looking” people, is not how teenagers suppose to waste their time. Oh, god we are so corrupted. Just the other day, one of my friends was complaining, over the fact that she is not pretty or skinny like Hanna (a character) from the sitcom Pretty Little Liars. “Apparently”, Hanna has beautiful shiny blond hair, has smooth glowing skin, also, she is very very slim ––– Seriously. Sounds like a Barbie doll to me. Not to mention, it’s called “Photoshop”, where any ordinary person can be turned into a beautiful swan from an ugly duckling. TV channels like MTV and CW, they have all changing drastically over the years. Most of my friends waste their time watching shows like Teen Wolf, Jersey Shore, Sweet 16, ANTM, Degressi and various types of shows. Funny thing is that, all these shows have one thing in common, and that is “physical perfection”–––– Seriously. How’s that even entertaining? I thought entertaining was about laughing at hilarious shows and crying when a sad sitcom comes on. How is staring at plastic faced actors even funny. Yeah sure, they are very attractive, but that is not entertainment. What I am trying to say is that, TV shows have gone far out of hand, and it is influencing teenagers in a very bad way; and I’m not liking that because every single one of friends act like they are possessed by the beauty of “perfection”. For example...
