Tapescript 1. I don't know what to say about this movie. Director Frank Graziani is famous for his exciting action films and great directing, but he must have been asleep when he was making this one! Poor direction, a slow story, and a very weak script. Even some good acting couldn't save this movie. Definitely one to avoid. 2. I don't usually like science fiction movies, but that one was really different. The special effects were amazing! The story was actually really believable, too, and the acting was excellent. Also, the camera work was wonderful. I'd really recommend it. 3. This wasn't a bad film. I really like comedies, and I laughed my head off for most of the movie. But it seemed to run out of ideas at the end, and the ending was really disappointing. It's alright, but only if there are no better movies to see. 1. ~E3~

In Focus:
Learning to listen ♫
People sometimes think that listening is not as important as speaking, reading, and writing. It is like a baby sister that no one pays attention to. This is because more attention has been paid to its three "elder sisters" - speaking, reading, and writing. For many people, being able to use a foreign language means being able to speak and write the language, or being able to read foreign-language books or newspapers. In recent years, however, more and more attention has been paid to the importance of listening. People who argue in favor of teaching listening say that learners cannot start using another language effectively until they have heard lots of authentic, comprehensible examples of the language. Why is listening important to you? What listening skills do you want to develop during the course? - When you're traveling, you need to be able to listen well so you can understand what people are saying to you. - I'm hoping to study overseas one day. I need to improve my listening skills so I'll be able to understand lectures in English. - I can understand OK when people speak slowly, but I need to be able to understand when they talk fast.

Business Law- Agency

...useful for deciding which agreements are binding and can unify a number of different doctrines in agency law. In particular, an efficiency explanation can be found for the undisclosed-principal rule, under which the agent's agreement binds the principal even when the third party with whom the contract is made is unaware that the agent is acting as an agent. Agency deals with situations in which one person -- the principal-- uses another person -- the agent-- to act on his behalf. Sometimes the acts of the agent are attributed legally to the principal, sometimes not. Clearly, agency is central to business dealings. No owner of a business can do everything himself; he must delegate some things to agents, and this is true not only of large corporations but of sole proprietorships that have employees who work for the owner. In partnerships, the partners act as each other’s agents. And in corporations, the shareholders are completely unable to act on their own behalf; they delegate authority to a board of directors, who in turn delegate authority to the officers of the corporation. In this report we will discuss the formation and types of agencies with a detail analysis of the evident problems between principal-agent relationships. Moreover, a comparative study between Virginia and Pakistan has been done as to what similarities of duties of an agency are pertaining. Lastly, we will propose some recommendations or procedure that can help the agencies work diligently and purposely. ...

Factors Affecting Study Habits of Students

...Chapter I Introduction Research Background Teachers are educators that teach us what we must learn. They are one of the most inspiring people not only in school but also within our nation. They help us to achieve our goals and dreams in life, and the ones who shape every person’s character. We consider them as our second parents who guide and lead us to the right path. And it truly proves that all educators are such a magnificent person. According to Benito (2000), the best hope for education lies with the teacher; his education is of primary importance. She explained that the quality of education the teacher has to transmit to his students largely depends on the quality of his education. The teacher’s best teaching device is herself (Adams, 1994). It follows then that in order to be an effective communication of knowledge; the teacher should have sufficient background of the subject matter that he/she teaches. In Teaching, Every educator must master his/her lesson plan. And everything that a teacher will teach to his student must be based on her own learning and experiences. Every teacher has their own way of providing knowledge to their students. They have their techniques in teaching for the student to better understand everything about their lesson. There are so many factors that affect students’ performance, and it includes the way of how the teachers communicate to their students (Cuevas, 1991). Longman (1996), emphasized that the instructor’s behaviour affects...

The Genius Trane

...of inside reports aids in painting a vivid picture of not only the atmosphere of the emotions of Coltrane, but also how he was perceived by others during his career. Thomas consistently refers to Coltrane as a genius, even citing Arthur Schopenhauer's definition of genius to complement his commentary, and illustrates this wondrously through detailing the steps Coltrane took in practising. In the review of this book, this paper will not only touch on various elements of Thomas's writing ability and the shaping of the text, but also challenge Thomas's stance that Coltrane is, in fact, a genius. First, a brief review of the text itself. As stated previously, the text is absolutely littered with quotes and reactions from people in John Coltrane's life, and it almost sets a sort of call-and-response tone to the whole of the book. Sometimes, it was even a bit difficult to discern whether a certain passage was commentary from Thomas himself or one of the many quotes sprinkled within. This minor inconvenience was nothing though, compared to the difficulty found in collecting all the info presented at any given time throughout the book. As a newcomer to jazz music, someone who knows nothing about the history or key figures in the genre at all, a great challenge was presented...

Preparing a Patient for a Diagnostic Technology (Ct Scan)

...Health Informatics Preparing a patient for a diagnostic technology – Head CT Scan Throughout history, man has striven to explain poor-health and illness. It was originally thought that disease stemmed from being possessed by evil spirits and other supernatural causes. However, these concepts were rejected by the Greek physician Hippocrates around 400 BC in favour of disease having a physical, rational and therefore measurable cause, (Porter, 1994). Yet it was not until 1895 that Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen discovered x-rays and began to revolutionise the assessment process using non-invasive techniques. (Nobel Lectures, 2012). Since then, many types of diagnostic imaging techniques have been discovered and developed which play an integral role in modern medicine. These include Ultrasounds, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, (MRI), Electrocardiograms (ECG) and Electroencephalography, (EEG). This essay will discuss; the rationale of referring a patient for Computerised-Tomography, (CT) scans; the support given throughout the process; evaluation of the benefits and risks of the technique and resulting diagnosis. Instead, the expansion of agriculture and a steady decrease in the number of male farmworkers combined to cause the industry to hire more women in the postwar years. Consequently, the 1950s saw a growing number of women engaged in farm labor, even though rhetoric in the popular media called for the return of women to domestic life. 1. ...is quite brief. Its roots in the early 20th century can be traced to Taylor's pioneering Time and Motion studies. But this is not very helpful, for the same may be said about almost everything in the field of modern human resources management. However formal evaluation of employees is believed to have been adopted for the first time during the First World War at instance of Walter dill Scott, the US army adopted the ‘man to man’ rating system for evaluating military personnel. During 1920 to 1930 hourly paid workers in industrial units were evaluated on the basis of rating sources. This early appraisal system was called merit rating. In early fifties performance appraisal techniques began to be used for technical, professional, & managerial personnel. A performance appraisal is a part of guiding and managing career development. It is the process of obtaining, analyzing, and recording information about the relative worth of an employee to the organization. DIGGING DEEPER: FOUR LEVELS OF MEANING Recounting the plot of a movie, telling what happens, is the simplest way to explain it to someone else. But this is neither a film review nor a film analysis. It’s merely a synopsis that anyone else who sees or has seen the movie will likely agree with. This level of content may be called the referential content, since it refers directly to things that happen in the plot and possibly to some aspects of the story that are merely implied by the plot. The repetition can reinforce meaning, unify ideas, supply a musical sound, and/or echo the sense of the passage. allusion – A direct or indirect reference to something which is presumably commonly known, such as an event, book, myth, place, or work of art. Allusions can be historical, literary, religious, topical, or mythical. There are many more possibilities, and a work may simultaneously use multiple layers of allusion. ambiguity – The multiple meanings, either intentional or unintentional, of a word, phrase, sentence, or passage. analogy – A similarity or comparison between two different things or the relationship between them. An analogy can explain something unfamiliar by associating it with or pointing out its similarity to something more familiar. Analogies can also make writing more vivid, imaginative, or intellectually engaging. antecedent – The word, phrase, or clause referred to by a pronoun. The AP language exam occasionally asks for the antecedent of a given pronoun in a long, complex sentence or in a group of sentences. A question from the 2001 AP test as an...
