HR Case Evaluation 3 The extent of conducting employee orientation may vary depending on the employee position, for those new to the school, orientation will be done within the first few days of being hired, and at least annually for those that are tenure. For those attending the New Employee Orientation, they can expect a series of four sessions followed by a tour of Southwood High School. During the first session, individuals will meet up with the School Administrator to discuss topics such like, but not limited to, supervisory expectations, performance goals, office rules, cultural values, leave requests, sick leave, contact information, organizational chart, access to school offices and building. …show more content…
The administrator will also communicate the importance of the days and hours worked and how this information must be accurate and timely by the employee and subject to supervisor approval (Stone, 2012). They will learn that Southwood’s leave policy is built around the guiding principles pulled from the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and that the policy states, that all leave requires approval and there are certain requirements put into place when one is needing to be absent due to either a personal/family illness, inclement weather, or annual/personal leave (USDOL, …show more content…
