The second pillar of the National Honors Society and one of the most important is Leadership. Leadership involves being in charge or command of a group in order to push them toward a goal. Leaders establish a clear vision, but also share it with others so that they, in turn, will follow. Leaders are able to provide knowledge and methods to help the group reach the vision and have to be able to balance the conflicting interests of the group in order to reach the goal. Leaders step up when faced with adversity and are able to think and act creatively in different situations.
