Does technology enrich learning? Although most students do not use textbooks, using tablets and notebook computers is a better way for students to manage their textbooks. For one reason, eBooks are cheaper than hard copy textbooks. Secondly, if students start using technology at an early age, they would handle technology better in the future. Also using technology in school opens up a world of possibilities, that
\textbooks could not achieve. Therefore, technology should be used in classrooms. Most of the time, ebooks are cheaper than the hard copy books and whenever you buy some kind of tablet, they give individuals eBook discounts up to seventy percent off if you are using the device for school or college. Procon.org also states, “Physical textbooks cost more then eBooks so using tablets is a great idea and is less on the districts budget”. With this deal, schools will be able to provide tablets without going above their school budget. According to a student, he only spent eighty dollars on his digital copy. The used hard copy would have cost him two hundred dollars. With this information, eBooks is the better deal for both students and the school system. If students begin using technology at an early age such as kindergarten, they will be better equipped to handle technology if or when they use it in future classes or there work place. Now teachers are worried that some kids will either lose or accidentally break electronics. However, if students learn how to handle technology at an early age such as kindergarten. These children will be able to handle it better when they move on to high school and college. Some top educators have done research and found that it would be wise to start using technology at a young age. Why because they found that even at the age of six kids are coming into what they call digital literacy. Which means they are starting to use and understand technology as it is given to them? If schools began, using technology in the classroom it would open a world of possibilities. Students would be able to send e-mails to each other containing the homework files they need. Students could even share their finished work via the cloud. This would help because students would be able to compare and examine there work with each other which would help to see if there on the right track or headed in the right direction. In addition, students can discuss and go over the subject they are learning about using email or Skype. If teachers use technology, in the classroom all of these variables can help students achieve a better grade Some teachers appose the fact of using technology in the classroom such as tablets and notebooks computers. Some teachers might say it is a waste of money. However, lets face it this is the 21st century more and more k-12 grade teachers are using technology daily in the classroom. So teachers can get ready to drop textbooks and get ready to use technology in the classroom. There are many teachers and educators that believe children will succeed in the future if they use tablets and notebook computers instead of hard copy textbooks. Therefore, if the children of America begin use technology more, they will be better equipped to handle technology in the future and possibly get a tech related job. Not only would the students have fun but also they will work better with tech. By using technology, teachers will start to reshape the schools of the United States.
