My Summer Experience From June to September 2014, the three month vocation is the last summer break of my student time. Instead of choosing to take part in the internship, I try my best to travel, and to know this world. The three months summer break is full of surprises and memory. I will never forget this 108 days. In June, I finished my final exam of the second semester of year 3 in UIC. And I also take part in the exam for the Human Resource Management qualification and Customer Service Management. I also pass the College English Test 6, without any preparation which own to the good learning environment in UIC. Then, I join the all-night music party holding by BNUZ students, with whom I play guitar, African drum and sing. I have made a lot of good friend including Lai, the nice man coming from Xinjiang. And Lai invited me to Xinjiang to travel. I had spent the next few days playing band with my new friends who are really good at JAM. Then, I organize the travel to my hometown, inviting my band members to enjoy delicious food. It was quite difficult to arrange the 8 people group by myself but however, I did it quite well. And they had tasted the best food in Shantou, which I believe is the best food in the world. Then, at the end of June, I helped my brother’s business selling wine and being the cashier in his wine store. At the same time, I also prepared for the coming summer program in France. The whole July is for the amazing summer program in France, in Europe. Preparing for several months, I finally took on the plane to Paris, to the dreaming Europe. The whole moth was full of activities, surprises, and new friends. There, I learned French and Museum Culture on class. We visited many places and museums with the instructor’s explaining to the history. It seems as if I was part of the past, when actually I was in the place of modern time. During weekends, we visited Netherland, Amsterdam and Paris. Europe is such a wonderful place to explore although there are so many different but small country (land area). Different countries have different languages, complicated history, different customs, different food and it is easy to travel among countries. For example, Amsterdam was a bog shock to me. In Amsterdam, we were free there which means that cannabis, prostitution and gambling are all legal there. I could smell the cannabis even on the street. That is coming from the coffee shop. The whole sommer program have bring me French (language), knowledge to museum and reach to Europe. After I finish my European summer program, I travel alone to the west-north of China. I have never been to that part of China where desert with strong wind, grassland with sheep and snow mountain exist. I was also shocked by the natural landscape on earth. I saw different people live on the grassland from generation to generation. I enjoyed traveling alone by train and meeting different people. I also had dinner with people of different race. The whole Silk Road is my guide and I started my own modern Silk Road to experience, to find the history. The last station is Xinjiang and I spent my good time with my friend Lai. This is my summer 2014, my last summer in college, and it is really unforgettable. Thanks to my parent and it is time for me to fight for my future. It is luck for me to have this chance to know this world.

Summer Bridge Experience Analysis

...In my experience, the first day of summer bridge at IUPUI has made me realize that there are many opportunities for me and other classmates in the program. For example, there was a point during my time at summer bridge that I realized that I have chosen the right school for my education benefits and I have met a fantastic group of individuals. I was also feeling optimistic and nervous about the day, but after lunch I felt like I could accomplish anything. Being myself made the day feel like nothing could stop me because I didn’t feel judged or shy at any means necessary. Overall, I felt like everything went smoothly and very planned out and I felt like I met lots of new friends while playing the activities and games. The games/activities that...

What specifically do you hope to gain personally from experiencing life in another culture? 2. Personally, I plan on gaining a lot from experiencing life in another culture. I am excited to see how their community works as a whole in comparison to how Americans live. The United States' culture, values, and beliefs are not like any other country. We live a totally different lifestyle than most people all over the world; and I would like to experience it firsthand. To be able to live on another continent, in another country, living another culture-it will expose me to a new environment with new traditions. While I'm there, all I can do is learn, taking in every new experience, and realize there is more to living than the way I was taught in America. I love to learn and embrace new ideas; different cultures it has always fascinated me....

Hazleton Manufacturing Case Study

...has taken on the disguise of being insolvable because for the last couple years the public has been pacified with band aid solutions of refilling the same potholes each year. However, as time goes on and the cost of fixing damage to transportation increases, the officials of Hazleton must realize that a more permanent solution is needed in order to avoid more costly expenses in the future. The roads in the Hazleton area have been neglected for far too long and in return have caused a burden in the lives of its’ citizens and a financial burden to the city as well. I feel as though the worst part of the pot hole plagued roads in Hazleton is that you never know when your plans are going to be interrupted by an encounter with one. My worst experience was when my friends and I were going to take a trip for the day to celebrate the end of our senior year. Everyone was ready to go and we just had to stop in town to get some gas before we left. We were planning on going to the beach that day. Instead of being greeted by the soft sounds of the oceans and the heavenly smells of the food on the board walk we were faced with the sound of mental dragging on concreate and the smell of burnt rubber. This was all due to hitting an unavoidable pothole when we were driving to the gas station. After living in our area for a while we have become pretty good at avoiding potholes, but in this case there was nowhere to go and if we stopped an accident would have absolutely occurred. In the end our plans...

Examples Of Wisdom In The Odyssey

...Wisdom is having experience and having the knowledge to comprehend the situation. An example would be an apostle, if you are a christian you should know people like this, they have the knowledge of God so they have wisdom because they know right from wrong. Intelligence is just having knowledge and skills. Wisdom would be if people knew how great it is because being intelligent does not compare to wisdom. If people had wisdom then the world would be different people would be able to get good jobs no state would be in debt, we would have a well organized government, nothing would be bad in the united states. Wisdom takes us way further than intelligence could, because if we were intelligent we would learn from our mistakes and not do that again but if you have wisdom then you already know what will work and what won’t work....

...allowing underclassmen the ability to make more mistakes and learn at a much slower pace than my seniors who are more experienced. Knowing that certain players are coming in with little or know experience at all at the college level I make the assumption that they all will learn at a much slower pace than the upperclassmen and that’s not the case in every instance. When an experienced player makes a mistake that they shouldn’t I am much quicker to react in a not so positive manner because I feel as if they should no better. An underclassman can make that same mistake and instead of reacting quickly to discipline them I give them more feedback and hands on instruction so that future errors can be minimized. Taking this approach can have an impact on a player being successful because playing time will be given to those players that I feel have the best grasp of what I won’t them to run and typically this will be the more experienced players and those that are inexperienced will have to wait for their chance to prove that they can execute as well as if not better than those who are upperclassman. Part 2 1) Beliefs about Athletic Ability- 10 2) Beliefs about Coaching Success-10 3) Stereotypic Beliefs-7 4) Preseason Expectations-5: Having players weigh in with me before they leave for summer break will allow me to give them a weight in which I would like for them to be at when they return for the fall semester instead of advising them that they should be in shape when they return...

College Essay

...about her struggle with anorexia, ‘Unbearable Lightness’, in which I channeled the author’s loss of self-control as she strove for perfection and acceptance. While reading, something took over. Perhaps I connected with her sense of powerlessness, or her temptation to hide from the eyes of society. Even though I was vicariously channeling another person’s words, I felt completely empowered. I discovered the art of unbridled self-expression. Several months later, at a summer program at the Peabody Institute, I experienced a similar feeling—except this time, the roles were reversed. I had just finished writing my first song “Light,” and it was about to be performed live before my peers. I was accompanying the singer on the piano and I couldn’t have been more nervous. When we started the piece, however, I listened as the melody rose above the gentle harmonies. Suddenly, I could hear my own voice through that of the singer. The moment was magical. I discovered a new avenue for self-expression. These experiences allowed me to realize my ability to express myself through written words and through music. I discovered that cogent self-expression delivers the ultimate sense of immovability. Though my sense of self may gradually develop over the years...

Experiences as a Writer

...My Experiences as a Writer Thus, I wrote about my life, the summer vacations or silly, imaginary things. I felt intimidated by the prospect of having to fill a page as much as by the endlessness of those first minutes I needed to find a start over than, “Once upon a time.” I like to write. My first experience as a writer started in elementary, around age 12 when I wrote a story. Every now and then, during English class, we were told to write. As I recall, the assignment mostly was to “write about anything” which was very exciting. My Aunt Carol helped me plans ideas for my story. Then, we sat to write down what we had processed. My story was coming together very well. My story was a great, it was about a haunted house out in the country. This is where my writing took off. When I received my paper back from the teacher, she gave me an A on my story. Everyone in my family was so happy for me. My experience as a writer has been extensive. Currently, one writes extensively for school purposes, personal, and as a hobby. For example, I write for my online English and Math classes, whether its discussion threads, questions or essays. One of my experiences that has been bothering me inside since I was a child, it was the sex abuse I encountered as a child. Like many of us, if sex abuse has not happened to you, sex abuse is an ugly thing for a child to go through. Kids at school found out, and started making fun of me. That to me was the...

Can We Battle a Hurricane?

...every island in the chain had a taste of fury, although there were two, Abaco and Grand Bahama that could have been referred to as gluttons. The catastrophic damage left as these hurricane waltzed through the archipelago left many wondering whether we can really be prepared for natural disasters. We know full well that winter winds and seas relocate beaches, summer lightening storms can set fire to pine forest but no one really knows when the fury of a hurricane will land. We must, however, ensure that we are prepared as we cannot afford the 2004 estimate of $500 million every hurricane season. To counteract unexpected onslaughts we must: 1. Have adequate insurance coverage for our buildings and homes. 2. Ensure that elected officials upgrade and the Ministry of Works enforces building codes and 3. Create a viable preparation plan by a) Establishing organized volunteers b) Providing for the loss of work c) Creating rapid response directory d) Preventing shoddy construction e) Improving response time f) Establishing a government sponsored segregated fund No one knows when we may experience another angry hurricane, but we need to mobilize strategic plans as our foreign researches are still trying to recover from the blow suffered in...

We thank the women who facilitated focus groups and helped us contact the women in this study. Finally, this report would not be possible without the contributions of the women who told us about their experiences. © 2004 Centre for Research on Violence Against Women and Children ISBN# 0-9688655-3-4 1 “To understand violence, we have to examine both the personal experience and the terrain of that experience.” Dr. Yasmin Jiawani This report is built on the personal experiences of women who have experienced workplace harassment, but their stories are also about the “terrain” or the context of those experiences. In drawing out the commonalities of their experiences, we have begun to shed light on the terrain. We must transform the terrain if women are to have equality and safety in their workplaces. 2 We dedicate this report to Theresa Vince whose death in 1996 changed the views of many people in Ontario about sexual and workplace harassment. Her tragic and untimely death showed us that workplace harassment can no longer be easily dismissed as a trivial problem. Fundamentally, the goal of this report is to prevent any other woman from losing her ...

...I would enjoy working in a school because it is a creative and vibrant environment that is also stable and a place where you can be sure that you are working with good and knowledgeable people. I am on a marketing course but I was intrigued by the web design part of the job description as I have always had an interest in websites and social media – I ran a blog & twitter account for 6 weeks in the summer that I had to shut down due to university commitments – but I have never had the chance to pursue or build on this interest properly. Although I am not the most experienced with Photoshop I have a fair knowledge of it and some of it features after I taught myself in year 9 when I was making basic backgrounds for people’s MySpace pages, experience which i also used to gain a 1st in a assignment in my Advertising and Promotions module where i had to design a poster. I had a channel on Youtube i started on my own for a short while during secondary school that gained over 50,000 views for videos that i had downloaded, cut and edited through teaching myself how to use a video editor so I do feel like i am quite a technical person that wouldn’t take too long to fit in to the role. I am very modern and i use most forms of popular social media to this day and have a very good understanding of them also.
