...On November 8th I embarked on my nutrition analysis using Supertracker and, originally, an excel sheet that I started logging my food intake on; however, it only had two spots designated for calories and fats, so I asked around and discovered MyFitnessPal. I ended up choosing Supertracker and MyFitnessPal as my mediums for this assignment, and overall was impressed by how easy they were to navigate. To begin, both sites offered great information on food intake, but the biggest difference between the two was that MyFitnessPal actually registered every food I entered; whereas with Supertracker I had to use a food similar to the one I was eating, but not quite the same food I had actually ingested. MyFitnessPal had the foods, brands, and the labels set up to where I just had to specify how much of it I ate. Overall, I would say that MyFitnessPal was the most accurate source of the two and had more information, but both sites did a good job of making their page easy to understand. I also enjoyed the graphs that Supertracker supplied once I recorded the foods that were consumed; furthermore, the graphs made it more appealing for my visual...

...largest computer and telecommunications networks. The company's couriers operate SuperTracker® hand-held computers, to record the transit of shipments through the FedEx integrated network. FedEx's use of technology focuses on the customer, rather than merely on remaining competitive. With FedEx, businesses can determine the status of their packages at all possible locations along the delivery route in real time. Customers can track packages in three ways: via the FedEx Web site on the Internet, by using FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com, or FedEx WorldTM Shipping Software. To provide the time-definite service customers have come to rely on, FedEx is continually developing innovative technologies. The following examples illustrate why FedEx remains the leader in the express cargo transportation industry. COSMOS (Customer Operations Service Master On-line System) is a computerized package tracking system that monitors every phase of the delivery cycle at Federal Express. FedEx employees constantly input information into COSMOS by several means. Customer service representatives enter shipping information into COSMOS through computer terminals, alerting the dispatcher closest to the pick-up or delivery area. Dispatchers relay pick-up and delivery information to the courier via DADS, small digitally assisted dispatch computer systems found in all courier vans. Hand-held computers, called SuperTrackers, are used to scan the progress of the package an average of 5 times from pick-up...

...Nutrition and Exercise Plan Tina D'Antonio SCI/241 September 4, 2012 Joyce Rode In week one, I learned through the SuperTracker that I needed to increase my calorie intake to 2,200 calorie per day to achieve a healthier weight, as I was 99 pounds, and wanted to reach a goal of 105 pound. Even though I eat healthy food, I don’t eat a well-balanced meal. The SuperTracker showed me to implement more fruits, proteins and dairy into my meal plan. Vegetables and whole grains have really never been an issue for me. My other goals were to increase my vitamin D, vitamin A and iron, so I can stop taking supplements and to increase my dietary fiber. Throughout the nine-week program, I found that my eating habits did not improve. My calorie intake never went over 2,000 let alone get up to 2,200. I was although really shocked to learn how much sodium I consume, I always thought I was good with watching my sodium intake. This is why people have to be more concise of what they purchase as it can be high in sodium. The coach center message archive gave me some of the following advice for vitamin D, dietary fiber and iron. Vitamin D their comment was, try to meet your recommendation by trying new recipe ideas for salmon, tuna, and sardines. Dietary fiber the comment was plant foods are where you find fiber-fruits, vegetables, nuts and whole grains, when your meal has more fiber, it often has fewer calories, and you’ll feel fuller and stay within your calorie allowance. Their comments...

...exercise habits are going to the gym at least three days per week for one hour. I focus primarily on cardio because it helps to burn fat. I complete thirty minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training everyday because I want to lose and tone! I find it easier to go to a gym as opposed to walking around my neighborhood. I tried that and felt discouraged, not quite sure why. But the gym is working so much better for me. According to SuperTracker results summary page, what were your credited minutes, total expended calories, physical activity score, and physical activity assessment results? Provide a screenshot of your results summary. The amount of minutes I exercised for four days were 360 minutes. I spend 30 minutes on the stationary bike and 30 minutes on the elliptical machine. I burned 1148 calories daily or 4592 calories over the four days (not sure why the tracker did not include this). I guess I did it incorrectly because I was not provided a physical activity score or assessment results. I could not locate the SuperTracker results summary page. [pic] What everyday changes, if any, might you make to increase the amount of energy expended in your day-to-day activities? There are multiple things I could add to my day to expend more energy. For example, I could take the stairs, instead of riding up the escalator – walk up the escalator. I could park my car farther away and walk. While watching television, during commercials I could do leg lifts or crunches! ...

All the amounts of food, nutrients, calories and related information are record by Supertracker. It’s a tool help you keeping tabs on what you eat and how much exercise you get is a great way to stay on track with your health goals. My information on a Supertracker report is different from my E.E.R (Estimated Enery Requirement). My average total calories I have been eating per day is around 2211 Calories and my E.E.R is 2972 Calories. About my EMDR, I focus on 3 main nutrients which are Carbohydrate, Fat and Protein. My need of each of the macronutrients is 371.5 grams of Carbohydrate, 20% of calories of Fat, and 222 grams of Protein. But the report shows that I have not eaten in accordance with the objectives set out for Fat (31% Calories) and Protein (82). For Carbonhydrate, 306 grams is not much different from my EMDR. I still consum fiber in fruits, vegetables, and bread, but under the criteria I laid out. Before I started using Supertracker, I could see myself have been eating too much fat and not enough other necessary nutrients. A report gives more specific information that they are Fiber, Calcium, Potassium, Magnesium and Vitamin A. In the near future, I’m going to set myself for less carb and fat, more deficiencies. In order to make my diet healthier, I’m going to plan what I should eat for upcoming meals and start for a long-run...

...mind is the FedEx PowerPad. This system I am very familiar with since I am a swing courier at FedEx Express I use it every working day. Now, the PowerPad is a replacement for the SuperTracker which was used up to the early 2000’s. The PowerPad uses both DADS (Digitally Assisted Dispatch System) and COSMOS (Centralized Computer Systems to Manage Operations) which were also used in the old SuperTracker. Purpose The PowerPad was exclusively designed for FedEx by Motorola, the FedEx PowerPad has enhanced and accelerate package information available to customers by enabling couriers to wirelessly send and receive near real-time information and updates from any location. The FedEx PowerPad is a Microsoft Windows-Powered Pocket PC that works by scanning a package and the PowerPad immediately uploads information such as signatures, proof of delivery, and time stamp into the FedEx network. The PowerPad incorporates a micro-radio for hands-free communication with a printer and mobile computer in the courier's delivery vehicle. The PowerPad enables FedEx to retrieve current information about customer package delivery. This boosts courier efficiency and maximizes package visibility, thus, saving time for both FedEx and its customers. Requirements The company came to a point where its old SuperTracker was no longer sufficient. One of the requirements was that it can integrate with its DADS and COSMOS systems. Another requirement was that it incorporated 802.11b wireless LAN capabilities...

...milk can be part of a good diet throughout life. Alternatively, in the case of someone who has difficulty digesting the lactose enzyme in milk, either due to a lifelong issue with lactose intolerance or as a result of aging, it may become necessary to add supplements such as calcium pills fortified with vitamin D to obtain the health benefits that could otherwise be provided through the consumption of milk (Chapter 9, “Calcium is the Most Abundant Mineral in the Body,” 2006). Additionally, to ensure that a variety of vitamins are consumed, it is necessary to periodically review the diet to be certain that all vitamins are represented in the adequate amounts by the foods consumed on a regular basis. This is where a tool such as the SuperTracker, found on the United States Department of Agriculture website, is extraordinarily beneficial (United States Department of Agriculture, n.d.). The program provides information on how many calories people should ingest daily based on their level of activity as well as sections to record foods consumed, exercise routines, and notes on how moods affected or were affected by the foods consumed and physical activities performed. To reap the most benefits from this site, there are reports that can be generated that specifically indicate the exact types of fruits,...

...Individual Wellness Change Project The client I selected for this project is a 70 year old female. This client resides in a household with her husband, and adult son. Retirement has not equated with rest and relaxation for my client as she also takes care of two of her adult brothers in poor health. Three granddaughters have been the source of joy for her as they’ve grown from precious infants to teenagers. My client also assumes the role of family matriarch for her other nine siblings. With many demands for time and attention, I predicted the needs assessments to direct us towards stress management. The results we received sent out project in another direction. With my initial prediction of the focus needed being on stress management, I had my client complete the Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale (Holmes and Rahe, n.d.) first. In spite of numerous responsibilities and various family members always seeking advice, her score was only a 16. Scores below 150 represent only a slight risk of illness due to stress. The one area where stress does affect my client is in her sleeping habits. Many nights she experiences insomnia while contemplating current family situations, and consequentially suffers from fatigue. My client’s concern over taking care of everyone else leaves little time for her to focus on herself. The remainder of our assessments helped to point out what she already knew about her nutrition and physical activity levels. The results of the LiveWell assessment...
