The marketing environment surrounds and impacts upon the organization. There are three key perspectives on the marketing environment, namely the 'macro-environment,' the 'micro-environment' and the 'internal environment'. [pic][pic][pic][pic][pic] The micro-environment This environment influences the organization directly. It includes suppliers that deal directly or indirectly, consumers and customers, and other local stakeholders. Micro tends to suggest small, but this can be misleading. In this context, micro describes the relationship between firms and the driving forces that control this relationship. It is a more local relationship, and the firm may exercise a degree of influence. The macro-environment This includes all factors that can influence and organization, but that are out of their direct control. A company does not generally influence any laws (although it is accepted that they could lobby or be part of a trade organization). It is continuously changing, and the company needs to be flexible to adapt. There may be aggressive competition and rivalry in a market. Globalization means that there is always the threat of substitute...

Applying Swot Analysis for Effective Planning

...Applying SWOT Analysis for Effective Planning   Introduction The objective or purpose in applying a SWOT diagram as a planning tool is to assist in organizational performance (Daft, 2012). A SWOT analysis is beneficial in helping an organization identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats during the planning process of creating new goals within the organization. Strengths are positive internal characteristics that the organization can exploit to achieve its strategic performance goal, weaknesses are internal characteristics that might restrict the organization’s performance, threats are external characteristics that may prevent achieving a goal, and opportunities are external characteristics that may help the organization to achieve the goal (Daft, 2012). When an organization considers all these factors it will help them in creating a goal based on all areas of consideration during their planning process. The organization can than create a goal that will be successful for both the internal aspects and the external aspects of an organization. When creating a SWOT analysis a company also opens up opportunity to learn more about what is beneficial and what is not to the organization. Impact Report to Senior Leadership

...Outcomes March, 2016 The Nursing Challenge Hospital readmissions and emergency room visits are on the rise particularly for patients with low socioeconomic status, limited resources, or who live in rural areas. Post-operative infections, asthma attacks, heart failure exacerbations and other conditions that could have been prevented seem to be driving this pattern. This has caused a downstream impact on patient safety and poor patient outcomes. The System/Organization A major health insurer in the Midwest completed a market analysis across their book of business and discovered a common theme. Patients were being discharged from the hospital without getting the post discharge care they required. In determining the root cause, a gap was discovered in the follow through for discharge planning. Patients would be sent home with instructions from the discharge planner and orders from their physician, but no arrangements had been made for home health care, durable medical equipment or follow-up appointments with their physician. According to Senge’s five disciplines, the shared vision discipline, defined “This collective discipline establishes a focus on mutual purpose. People learn to nourish a sense of commitment in a group or organization by developing shared images of the future they seek to create, and the principles and guiding practices by which they hope to get there” would be a place to start. (Society for organizational learning) Utilizing the team learning discipline...

Strat Plan

...Strategic Plan; Home Depot Strategic planning is an organizational management activity that is used to set priorities, focus energy and resources, strengthen operations, and ensure that employees and other participants are working toward common goals. It is a disciplined effort that produces essential decisions and actions that shapes and guides what an organization is, who it serves, what it does, and why it does it. Strategic planning focuses on the future of the company. Strategic planning is building a plan that provides guidance in fulfilling a mission with maximum efficiency and impact for a company. Basically it is the Who, What, When, Where, How and How Much aspect to planning. “A company collectively tries to agree on where it is going (its vision) and how it’s going to get there (its strategy)” (Abraham, 2012). Strategic planning is a very important part of having a successful organization. Without it, the employees will not know what to do or why they are doing it and over time the company will not succeed. In order for the plan to be effective and useful, it should articulate specific goals and describe the action steps and resources needed to accomplish them. In other words, Strategic Planning is a regimented effort to analyze certain things like: the objectives of the organization, why it’s doing that and what is it going to do in the changing environment or future. I have selected Home Depot to analyze and prepare a strategic plan to grow the organization...
