Symbiosis and the development of mutually beneficial interactions have again and again proven to be a winning approach to successful evolution. What key examples of symbiosis allowing organisms to mutually become those who are "fit best" can you think of from across the three domains of life? What implications might there be for human evolution and advancing human medicine?
Symbiosis is the fact that two living organism are living together to survive and have a "healthy lifestyle". It is positive as both of them gain more abilities. The first organism give to the second organism his advantages, and in exchange, he receive the second organism's advantages. Some organisms which wouldn't be able to survive alone are now able to survive thanks to this mutually beneficial interaction. And this is a type of evolution since it is creating a new type of living organism and with a new look. …show more content…
So, talking about the survival of the fittest, we have to adapt to the changes of the world to survive. By doing symbiosis, this is what organisms do.
To take an example, we can talk about corals and algaes. Algaes can invade the tissues of the corals (as we can see by the special shape of the corals). Both organisms get something from the other. The coral . It can eat the sugars and nutriments produced by the algae during photosynthesis, and pieces of the algae too. But with the photosynthesis, algaes also produce O2 used by the corals to breath and to live.
In exchange, the algae gets a safe place to live, and CO2. With this CO2, and sunlight, the algae produce sugar and nutriment to nourish the algae and the coral. Corals can put their tentacules out of the water to take the floatting particules and feed the algaes with this ability, can absorb, eat, and produce mucous which is a reserve and a
