if syncretism not occurred in the Americas the independent high level of freedom would not be the same as it is today (Sayre, 2010). One aspect that would have changed is the political syncretism. Had syncretism not occurred in the Americas, the United States government would not be a solid whole unit. Instead it would be divided up into sections, such as how it was when things were segregated there would be a different section would govern certain people of certain races. For example, in the nineteenth century Indian Americans along with African-Americans could not vote or get involved in political issues. The Americas would not be considered a free nation as it is today. Slavery would still exist, along with the mistreatment of minorities as common and fair behavior (Muraga, 2011). Cultural entertainment would have also been affected. The Americas have a known history of diverse entertainment styles. However, many of these styles have integrated in the American culture through other countries. If not for syncretism America would not have the diverse range of music and entertainment that is so broad and diverse today.
The partial integration of religious practices would not be so free and impartial. The constitution allows the right for a person to serve or worship the god of their choice. Christianity has dominated many societies in the Americas. In South America the Spanish colonization and its Roman Catholic Church's proselytizing of animistic South America. Religious syncretism there would be a conflict of religious practice in societies causing a conflict of interest (Religious Syncretism, 1994). When the belief system of one culture doesn’t mesh together with another it causes syncretism to become impossible. However, they can absorb and take into their culture certain aspects and elements from other outside sources. If syncretism had not

Ford Sync with Hispanic Audience

...Assignment 4 – Ford Sync with Hispanic Audience 1. Briefly summarize the key decisions behind this campaign. Some of the key decisions behind this campaign is the importance of the advertising marriage with Ford Sync, Juanes, and the ability to target the audience that likes to listen to their mp3 players in the car during their long commutes to and from work. The advertising specialists did a very good job of what it looks like hitting every marketing channel they could. SYNC Zones at Juanes concerts, syncjuanes.com, banner ads, video banners, paid search, widget clocks or temperature gauges, email blasts, magazine and newspaper ads, radio spots, talking billboards, text messaging, and social media blasts on Facebook and Twitter. This type of campaign is like the poster child for efficient marketing for a targeting a specific audience that had a very high turn out. 2.     Now apply the Facets Model of Effects (Figure 4.3) to analyze how the campaign worked.  See pp. 106-121. There should be a paragraph on each of the following areas (no more than two double-spaced pages): ·       See/Hear (perception) The see/hear perception of this campaign goes very deep into the other effects that control human emotion. Since the target audience of this campaign is deeply influenced by music, why not bring one of the biggest music stars of that time into the mix. Juanes has a huge impact on the Hispanic culture that works very long hours for...

Lip Sync

...industry. There were several controversies that enraged people and initiated debate whether they should or should not lip sync. These include Chris Brown at the 2012 Grammy's, Beyonce at the 2012 Presidential Inauguration , Jennifer Lopez when she performed with Pitbull at American Idol and the list goes on. Personally I am for and against lip syncing. It varies depending on the situation. I have several reasons why I feel this way. For example, I would prefer seeing an artist dance moves rather than listening to their singing, if only they put on an amazing show. I would understand that when you sing and dance at the same time it may take away from the overall performance because the type of choreography they may be doing, they might feel out of breath and their voice may sound like they are gasping for air. If I don’t get a good performance as a result of lip syncing and dancing instead of wasting my money on a terrible show I would’ve rather listen to an audio CD at home. I truly believe there's a difference between an entertainer and a singer and to me if people do not know the difference they would not really enjoy some of the concerts. There are many singers that can sing and dance really well. For example, the pop singer P!NK performs some really great acrobatic moves while singing live and sound totally amazing. Some performers that do not lip sync may do the same but it may not be as perfect as others but they manage to satisfy the majority of their fans and still...

Justin’s time on the Disney stage proved to be a major turning point in both his professional and personal life. On this show his cast mates included future girlfriend, Britney Spears, future tour mate Christina Aguilera, future bandmate JC and future movie actor Ryan Gosling. In the late 1990s, Timberlake rose to prominence as the lead singer and youngest member of the boy band 'N Sync,. Justin was in this band from 1995 to 2004. The band broke up in 2004 because each member wanted to pursue a solo career but Justin was the only one that had a successful one. Justin: One Night Only

...One Night With Justin January 17, 2007 is a night I will remember forever. It is the night my dreams became a reality for one night and one night only. On this day at 7:30P.M., at the Save-Mart Center in Fresno, California, I saw the man of my dream, My Love, Justin Timberlake. What made this night even better was the fact that I was about 20 feet from the stage. I had floor seats to the most amazing concert ever. My roommate and I were in heaven. Justin came to Fresno on his FutureSex/LoveSounds tour. Joining him on tour was female singer Pink, who was the opening act, and producer and rapper Timbaland, who joined Justin on stage for a new numbers, including a monologue of his own. Pink opened up the show at the stroke of 7:30. She came out in a denim tank top and denim pleaded skirt. She got the party started. Her performance was energetic and amazing. She even performed an acrobatic routine in the air. At around 9:00P.M., the teasing began. The band members slowly made their way to the stage and they began to play a little interlude. The arena, already lively, began screaming their heads off, crying, shaking, jumping up and down, and anticipating the moment when the most amazing man in the world would reveal himself. The first song started up. It was the title track FutureSex/LoveSounds. Justin emerged from the center of the stage, dressed in a black suit, with a white guitar around his neck. Silk screens were surrounding the entire round stage. The stage...

Full Block style is the most streamlined letter format because it eliminates the need to indent paragraphs. Always use a justified left margin for letters and memos. This lets the computer randomly determine the end point of each line and results in a more natural looking document. Do not justify the right margin. Big Data, Nosql and Mobile Sync —Three Peas, One Pod

...Sponsored Content DBTA | MARCH 2012 27 Big Data, NoSQL and Mobile Sync —Three Peas, One Pod By James Phillips, Co-Founder and SVP of products, Couchbase A few months ago I had the good fortune to hear VMware CEO Paul Maritz speak at a conference. Asked “which trends would you identify that will have the biggest impact on IT in the coming decade?” Paul identified two: cloud computing, and the transition underway in at the data layer—specifically mentioning Big Data and NoSQL. Paul noted that, in his experience, a shift in the data model generates farreaching ripple effects: new applications are enabled, the application development process is impacted and the infrastructure atop which these applications run changes. He saw it happen with IMS (hierarchical data model) and with the relational model. In his estimate we’re on the leading edge of another fundamental shift. Clearly Paul is not alone. It is hard to find an IT “predictions” story or blog that doesn't mention Big Data and/or NoSQL. But these terms are frequently interchanged as though they are synonyms. In part, the confusion comes from focusing too sharply on the technology itself. There are certainly similarities in implementation—notably the tendency to spread data across many servers versus storing data on a small number of very large servers. But if one softens the focus on the technology, it becomes clear there are three distinct trends driving innovation at the data layer: data growth, web application...

Opportunity Analysis & Execution Project

...Opportunity Analysis & Execution Project Concept Sync Doctor is the next generation of interactive Personal Health Records (PHR). At the present time, PHRs serve as an electronic repository of the personal health data of patients. Many PHRs are dependent on patient entry of data meaning that they are fraught with inaccuracies and are composed of a colorful blend of layman’s terms and inappropriate uses of medical terminology. Sending this compilation of patient data to a physician’s office is helpful, but is heavily reliant on the trained medical professional to extract the key facts from fiction and translate it into the physician medical record in a concise format utilizing correct medical terminology. This is both time-consuming and potentially dangerous as the translated medical history is hardly free from errors. The dawning era of virtually all medical records in the United States being digitized by 2014 into Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) through government mandate has presented an opportunity to take PHRs to the next level. Sync Doctor would allow key patient medical information to be extracted from the physician EMR and imported to the PHR where it can be stored, updated, and shared with anyone involved in the care of an individual patient as authorized by the patient. This is a patient centric platform that facilitates the collection and transfer of reliable protected health information (PHI) and eases the burden of time spent filling out forms and re-entering...

Advertising

...Ford in Sync with Hispanic Audience When advertising the” Ford SYNC”, Ford had to look at many different aspects of the product to fully advertise it. Ford knew that the main target market that they wanted to appeal to was the diverse U.S. Hispanic market. Ford had to get away from its consumers thinking of Ford as just making strong, dependable trucks, but it could also be technology advanced as well. Ford did what any other car company was doing, which was letting you talk hands free. Ford hit something that wasn’t thought of yet. Ford made the Ford SYNC. . The Ford SYNC was developed by Microsoft, allowing people to listen to music from their music devices and talk on the phone as well. One may of the bat think that something like that has already been created but what sets it apart is SYNC can understand various dialects of Spanish. When discovering a target market, Ford wanted to target 18 to 49 year old Hispanics. Ford wanted to do this for two reasons. The first reason is because Ford wanted to generate consumer awareness by educating consumers on what all SYNC had to offer. This was helpful because the consumer got to learn about the product before purchasing it and not buying the product and having no knowledge of what they just purchased. The second reason is so that they could those who show interest by responding to them online. This was a good idea because it allowed the consumers to register for door prizes and sweepstakes and letting the customer stay in tuned...

Reason: There are multiple reasons to have the above error triggered. But the main cause of this error is having the stock levels out of sync in both EWM and ECC systems. Root Cause: There are multiple reasons to have the systems (EWM and ECC) out of sync and queues to fail with Deficit of stock issue, some of them are listed below, 1. When someone manually posts inventory by using the inventory sync program /SCWM/ERP_STOCKCHECK, without checking if there are any open Queues or other process updates. 2. When someone used mass posting transaction /SCWM/POST to change the stock status from available to block or blocked to available, queues are failing if any of the product is out of sync in the system, then it will stop the posting change for all the products in the mass list. 3. If the queue for goods movement EWMMEWMGOODSMVT* is not monitored properly, for all the material movements in EWM system will trigger only on queue name with multiple LUWs and if any of the LUW movement is stuck for any reason, then other LUW’s will get piled up and waiting for the first one to clear. ...Case Study 2: Wireless and Mobile Technology By Terry Boone Dr. Stevens CIS 500: Information Systems for Decision Making 5/24/2014 Wireless and mobile technologies have transformed our daily lives, and also made a huge impact on the business world. The definition of the terms wireless and mobile technologies are often used interchangeably; however, this is not the case. Wireless technology is the ability to communicate on the internet via devices without a wire. Mobile technology is the ability to communicate on the internet via wireless and over a wired connection. Mobile technology allow for a user to access the internet anywhere at any time; conversely, wireless technology is only limited to the broadcast area emanating from the router and modem combination. Businesses use wireless and mobile technologies to increase efficiency by saving money on installation costs freeing up funding to be used elsewhere. Businesses can use wireless technology to connect employees throughout building, but still be connected to important software that runs the businesses operations through portable devices. Cell phones, laptops, and tablets in conjunction with wireless technologies have created the possibility for employees to become more powerful. Smaller organizations must maximize the efficiency of workers, so they can compete. Small organizations must ensure that employees are always connected, in addition to not being tied down to a single location (Koose, n.d.). Smart phones...
