Big corporation are marketing chemically produced foods and low-end quality products to low income/ working class families, which they can't afford. The mad obsession to live and look like the American dream is more perpetuated than ever before. The saying goes, “Buying things we don't need to impress people that we don't know”. Advertisers spend billions of dollars annually trying to attract the target consumer’s attention. Mainly marketing to low income and working class families via television, radio, social media, internet, etc. Major companies are willing to spend billions of dollars on a 90 second commercial on a TV network like MTV and BET where they know that young adults and minorities frequently view relatable shows. They use these streams of advertisement to lure in the customer desires and need to look a certain way and act in a certain manner if they are able to obtain certain things.
Billion dollar companies like McDonald’s and Coca Cola mass produce low quality products and strategically place their business near and/ or in low income neighborhoods marketing dollar menu items and combined deal offers to sell genetically modified poisonous by products. These large manufacturers pay close to nothing to make the chemically induced and genetically altered animals to make these products faster to sell more and spend less out of pocket. The harmful chemicals used to create these animals have been a topic of discussion for years. Recently, a laws passed the Food safety Modernization Act, supposedly, put into place to protect the consumers from exposure to harmful poison. The new law prevents states from requiring package labels to indicate the presence of genetically modified organisms, or GMOs, instead of the correction of the issue. Preventative

controls only require that hazard will be minimized at most, not corrected to be avoided all together. The correction would cost big companies money vs. them making money which is always the main objective of Corporate America.
While the average low-income family in unable to sustain their monthly bills and support the basic needs. They are constantly being brainwashed by mass advertising and media coverage on the latest gadgets and must haves. Apple the largest manufacturer of the well known Apple IPhone and high priced computer products reveals a new addition every 6 months. The waiting lines for the store during the reveal has shown people waiting outside overnight in lines wrapping around the corner so that they could be the first to purchase the product. In what society does a 7, year old need a IPhone 6 or a cell phone at all for that matter. The infatuation to have and need the greatest and latest of items arriving on the market is the new trend forcing students and families already ridiculed with debt the obsession to feel like they have more if look like they can afford more. These large corporations thrive off the poor getting poorer and the rich getting richer. Their ideas of force-feeding this advertisement to control the obsession to want these products and items that they can't afford and don't need are the major weapon and ultimate objective.
These large companies have no desire to cater to the humanistic and basic need of these families. The only values placed on the lives of these people are the dollar value that they can produce to continue buying their products.

These companies will continue to push the dreams and obsessions by advertising and marketing to a certain demographic and income class of people that will kill and fight to have the opportunity to show off for people that don't even know or like them. The American way, and nobody can do anything to stop them.
