I want to make sure that once I have a family, I’m able to provide for them. I want to be able to provide them with a life that they don’t have to want for anything. I want to know that I’m able to do that for them without the help of anyone else. As a child, I always imagined being married and having kids but I always wanted my schooling to be finished first. ...positive and how successful and non-successful she was in this movie. "Singleness" Always a bridesmaid never a bride, is the main thought depicted in the movie, "27 Dresses." This movie shows its audience a single young woman, Jane, who has served as a bridesmaid twenty-seven times and yet wrestles with the prospect of supporting her younger sister's wedding as being the bridesmaid for the twenty-eighth time. Everyone could say that Jane had it all, the success, the career and even freedom to party at every wedding she was in and not worry about time or the responsibility of a family. Singleness can be wonderful for some people and horrible for others. I believe that when a woman is single, that is the time for her to serve her loved ones and maybe even choose a career to be successful in. Being single can be an opportunity of a great ministry towards others and forget about the worldly thoughts of having various sex partners with no regret or partying all night with no responsibilities. Sure, one is not committed emotionally or physically to a partner, but that allows more commitment to immediate family and spiritually to Christ. Some women believe people are not meant to be in a relationship, just have fun, stir up some romance, then once it's gone...move on in life. It's like a game with no rules that can be played. In this movie, the idea of the Jane is the fact that she wanted to be a bride. Just to one day have the light shine down on her and make her happy because...

...2012, 21:08 I remember all the times where you and I would merge into one another. We would move in and out and through so freely and unconditionally. I was you, and you were me. That's what we were, we were eachother, just one power with the ability to control two. You see, that's what you did to me, you controlled me and you still control my thoughts and capture them just like you used to. There is no love lost between you and I, but that's about all that remains. We could have been one, but together we are dead, apart, we are able to fly freely just like we never could when I had you and you had me. I think of all we were and dream of all we could have been. People always say that some things you never get over. All this time, I wondered, how could something be so powerful? So powerful that it is never overcome? But now I know, only now do I know how it feels to be trapped by a power stronger than you could ever be. Addiction happens sooner than you can say it, but it's not just an addiction, it is a never ending desire for fulfilment, a fulfilment that can only be achieved if you take one too many pills, put too much pressure on the blade, an addiction eats away at you. It leaves you with nothing but everything you once had left in tatters beneath you. Maybe I'd never fully understand it, but maybe I didn't want to. My understanding is enough and it will always be enough for me. I don't know why the thought of you being with anyone or even happy with someone...

...At the age of four I always knew I wanted to become a singer or do something that I love and something that made me happy. I remember my dad would always turn on Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” and I would dance around the room and even in public. I decided that I wanted to do what I love because Michael Jackson did what he loved, he made other people happy, and he inspired others. I’ve always hope that one day I would inspire and impact other people’s lives too. As time went on my parents asked my sister and I what we wanted to do when we were older. My sister told them she wanted to be a doctor, and she got much approval, and I told them I wanted to sing. My parents came from Asia and faced a rough childhood. They had to escape the Vietnam War...

...essay Future Goals in Life, why I chose my majors: I plan on majoring in Business Administration and Political Science. I chose Business Admin as my first major because it was a good solid major with good job opportunities; in particular I want to be in Health Administration. The health care business is something that will be around as long as there are people who are going to be hurt and nurses and doctors who need people over them. My second choice is Political Science because I've always had an interest in several of the jobs offered in the field. Foremost, I've always wanted to be an FBI criminal profiler, psychology is something I've always loved and wanted to pursue ever since I was a child. When I was in middle school I got my hands on a college psychology textbook and ever since then, I've been learning. I wanted to choose it as my first choice major but with the economy and the amount of money it would require to start a practice I had to desist from pursuing it, with this major I would have a chance to work in the government and pursue my childhood dream of studying the human mind. Another interest, being a lobbyist, my own personality helps add to this I believe; I'm very stubborn and I love to argue for what I believe is right. I have a lot I want to achieve and I know people say this a lot, but I will be successful with whatever I put my mind too, by God’s grace. II. Second Essay, Issues I feel strongly about: An issue that's always haunted me ever since...

...Undoubtedly, happiness is the most important part in our lives. But if you ask different individuals what is happiness, there are absolutely a wide variety of answers you would hear. It is difficult to define happiness because it means different things to different people. Like such, obtaining happiness can vary people to people and it can shape what their lifelong goals and dream are. Usually, happiness can be described as a feeling of pleasure or enjoyment or sometimes a feeling of self-fulfilment. If you ask someone the meaning of happiness, he or she will pause for a time because the description of happiness is very complicated. Whether It would be having wealth, fame or fortune, the definition of happiness will vary people to people as people themselves are unique and dissimilar. Moreover, the thing that makes people happy are dependent to age because for a child, a toy makes them happy and for a teenager a car could makes them happy. To achieve happiness is not very hard but to defining happiness is very difficult. If people could find the meaning of being happy they will achieve happiness in a short time because they will know the route of happiness. None of the wind can help a ship if it does not know the destination. That’s why over the years in my life, my meaning of happiness have changed and evolved substantially. At first I believed, like most people of my age at the time, that materialistic wealth would mean happiness. However, as I got more mature and grew older...

...English 9/13/10 Hard Working Class Working seems second nature to a lot of people all over the world. At a young age we are taught that there are no free lunches, there is a lot of hard work and effort to be put into getting the things one wants out of life. Some well mannered and ambitious children aspire to become tax payers pay the time they are teenagers. From the time we start grade school, we are being prepped to start a schedule that starts our day at 8am and ends at 3pm. Working and being a healthy and functioning part of society is ingrained in us by the age of five years old. At least in my house hold it was. Both of my parents were not opposed to working two or three jobs at a time to make ends meet. They both came from harsh backgrounds. My mother took care of her drunken mother and two siblings from the age of eleven years old. She never knew her father or the father of her siblings, and she her education stopped when my father got pregnant with me at the age of fifteen. My father was the youngest of three children; his mother raised them alone after his father passed away. Growing up, I spent a lot of my time with my grandmother when my parents were working conflicting schedules and one couldn’t stay home with me. My Grandmother wasn’t one of those retired grandparents either. She had jobs where she cleaned houses, made meals and played chauffeur to several older adults. ...out to me was the “Two Kinds” by Amy Tan because in the story it was the mother that coming from another country had hopes and dreams and not thinking in what her daughter wanted was determined to make her own hopes come true. As it says in the beginning of the story “My mother believed you could be anything in America” The mother believes that working hard you can be anything you want to be here in America. The mother had very high hopes that her daughter would become successful and had many dreams to make that happen. The narrator uses her mom to portray the “American Dream” theme, because throughout the story her mother wanted her to do many things. For example when her mother put her into beauty training school and at first she liked it but after also trying other things she realized that she just wanted her parents to accept her. “In all of my imaginings, I was filled with a sense that I would soon become perfect. My mother and father would adore me … I would never feel the need to sulk for anything” I think that many people come to america looking for that “American Dream” dreams of becoming rich and successful. Another thing I got from this story is how all those dreams the mother had affected the relationship with her mother. The narrator's mother only wanted her daughter to be successful in life, but by doing that she was starting problems with her daughter, The mom did not realize how her daughter really felt. “ after seeing my mother’s disappointing face once again...

...IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, YOU CAN DO IT...!! In childhood, we all have had many crazy dreams. But how many of us would really go behind those dreams and pursue them?? Time changes everything. And very few follow their dreams. It’s not that they forget their dreams, but the fear in them, pulls them back from pursuing their dreams. The courage they had in their childhood to do anything and everything is lost, the innocence is lost forever. They forget to think how much happiness it would bring into their life rather they are more concerned with what others would think if they follow their dreams. Even I have a dream, dream to be different. To stand out from the crowd, and to do things which no one ever had thought about. I always wanted to try those things which no one ever dared to do, because that helps me to know more and better of myself. I never followed anyone, because I never wanted to do the exact things what others did in their life. I wanted to be different, different from what others do and think. For me doing things differently, always means discovering myself, knowing more about myself, because what I always believe is, “if we want to do something different, we have to do that one thing which we feel we can’t do. Sometimes we may fail, but then we can proudly say, I’M DIFFERENT.” And for me the most daring thing is to be myself and to do exactly what I want to do at that point in time and not to be worried with what other people think or are doing. Yes I know things...

...ENGL 1301 – 00000 February 8, 2015 Determination “You have to go to college!” “You can’t get a good job without a degree!” I can still here those words in my head today. When I decided to go to college I was Proud. It was easy task for me because I was really determined to be successful I life. I also sort of didn’t really have a choice because my parents both went to college and got degrees so it was basically a MUST. What drove me to college was the determination of me wanting a better education, not only for myself but for my loved ones in the future. I basically was so determined to better my future for myself. But I can also say I was also pushed. In my family there were two options, you either went to college or you were a struggling minimum wage adult. But in my mother’s household it was all about college. My mom stressed everyday how college was so important. She would talk on and on and on, as if she was a broken record player. My mom was one of the factors I decided to further my education. She showed me how as if my life would be without a college degree. In this world you need some type of degree if you want to become more than just the sales associate. You need that degree t become the manager and not just the floor manager, but the general manager. And that’s what my mom stressed and showed us on the daily. She basically showed me the right path to take. Now at first it was all about whatever decisions you decide to take don’t complain about the hardships. When...

...significant important memories the authors have experienced, ones that they intertwine and manipulate to set a specific atmosphere throughout their work. William Butler Yeats, has a similar source of inspiration for some of his work. Yeats often wrote his poems about Maud Gonne. Yeats has proposed to Gonne several times, and got rejected each occasion. His rejections never stopped him from being inspired by her. “When you are old and grey and full of sleep,/And nodding by the fire”. (Yeats~When You Are Old) This goes to show that Yeats can picture Gonne and himself growing old together and watch each other go through the process of life, and also shows she inspired this poem. It seems to be obvious that Gonne does not feel the same way about Yeats. As you start to read Yeats, you will begin to realize that:...

...My education life had its ups and downs I always tried to learn from my mistakes and experiences that I had. I was born in Pakistan so I spent most of my education life in Pakistan. As a student I was really poor in studies when I was young. I grow up in a small family where I always got what I wanted or at least my parents tried to give what I wished for: thinking this would increase my interest in studies if I get what I wanted. I was not so clever when I was in nursery and in year one, my mother always tried to support me and tried to teach me but was never successful: I guess I was in my own fantasy world where education was not needed to make it perfect. I thought I would never be able to learn. But then a miracle happened and God felt bad about how my family felt about me, how I was the reason of tension for my mother. I came out of my fantasy world and came to know about the significance of education in my life and most importantly how it made my mother feel. I started improving, I got better marks and my teachers were happy about what I did and how I did. I stood first in year two then I didn’t study year three instead I gave a test and I passed and went straight to year four. After this I always reached my parents and specially my mother’s expectations or at least I thought so because she looked happier and pleased. After a long journey of ups and downs in Pakistan, my mother decided she wanted to go to Afghanistan where she is originally from. There I totally experienced...
