Pasadena Playhouse
Established as far back as 1917, the Pasadena Playhouse is a venue for historic performing arts. History tells us that Pasadena as a city was once just a sleepy little town mainly consisting of wealthy vacationers and farmers. This all gradually changed after an itinerant acting troupe headed by Gilmour Brown came to settle therein. Over time, the players captured the interests of the community and were given donations that allowed them to move their company out of the derelict old burlesque house into a more befitting venue in 1924. Open and established on 27 December 1927, this hall has since then been a great source of pride; assuming a great deal significance, owing to its historic and municipal needs function. This building has over the years stood out as one of America’s distinctive public building. The exterior has remained almost the same, with only some little modification in its architectural details. On the other hand, a large part of the interior has been rehabilitated to meet modern specifications. Established in 1922, this stadium is the 17th largest stadium in the world and among the most famous in the history of sporting and a National Historic Landmark of United States. Owing to its popularity, it hosts an annual game named after it - The Rose Bowl Game. It has also had the opportunity to host the FIFA World Cup Final, FIFA Women’s World Cup Final and the Olympic Gold Medal Match, specifically in 1994, 1999 and 1984 respectively. Other games hosted by this stadium are the United State Soccer Federation matches, CONCACAF and Super Bowl Games. Only recently, this stadium went through a renovation worth $164.5 million, and as such the look and feel is still maintained as of old plus some other improvements such as wider tunnels, new pressbox and field edge restoration.
