...International Journal of Wireless & Mobile Networks (IJWMN) Vol. 4, No. 1, February 2012 Optimization of Energy Consumption for OLSR Routing Protocol in MANET Kirti Aniruddha Adoni1 and Radhika D. Joshi2 1 Modern College of Engineering, Shivaji Nagar, University of Pune, , India akirti2008@gmail.com, k_adoni@rediffmail.com 2 College of Engineering, University of Pune, India rdj.extc@coep.ac.in ABSTRACT Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET) eliminates the complexity associated with an infrastructure networks. Wireless devices are allowed to communicate on the fly for applications. It does not rely on base station to coordinate the flow of the nodes in the network. This paper introduces an algorithm of multipath OLSR (Optimized Link State Routing) for energy optimization of the nodes in the network. It is concluded that this solution improves the number of nodes alive by about 10 to 25% by always choosing energy optimized paths in the network with some increase in normalized routing overheads. KEYWORDS OLSR, multipath, Energy Optimization, Nodes Alive, Overheads 1. INTRODUCTION A Mobile Adhoc NETwork (MANET) is a multi-hop, distributed and self configuration network[1].The communication between two distant nodes is through the number of intermediate nodes which relays the information from one point to another. As nodes can move randomly within the network, routing packets between any pair of nodes become a challenging task. A route that is believed to be optimal...

...As Title IX approaches its 40th anniversary, its policies and impacts on both men’s and women’s sports is still greatly debated and argued. While it is proven fact that it was tremendously successful at providing women far greater opportunities both in sports and outside of sports, the topic of how it is negatively affecting men’s sport is often debated. The five articles that I gathered advocate for Title IX. They express its positive impacts through narrative accounts and personal experiences of well-known female athletes who prospered due to Title IX not just in sports, but in their educational and professional careers. They also disprove the myths commonly associated with Title IX that lack evidence about how it is responsible for negatively affecting men’s sport opportunities and potentially ruining the programs currently in existence. Title IX is generally associated with women’s opportunity in sports to the point where its other positive implications tend to be forgotten. Title IX isn’t just about providing an opportunity for women to participate in sports in high school and at the college level, it is about providing young women the skills needed to achieve greater successes later on in life. Pugmire’s (2013) article quotes Women’s basketball legend Anne Meyers Drysdale saying the following: “According to the Women's Sports Foundation, 80% of women in Fortune 500 companies played sports. It teaches you so much -- confidence, failure, success, courage, how to get along...

...Individual-Focused Care is important because this kind of care focuses on customized facilities for one’s particular kind of care and personalized attention to each individual patient. All patients are not treated the same. Every patient is unique and needs their own kind individualized care. This allows the patient to feels safe, secure, and comfortable with their particular surroundings. It is important to give this sense of security to the patient because it will allow him to respond to their treatment or medication more effectively. Additionally, it can allow them to feel good about their selves. Another advantage is the development between the doctor and patient. One way of doing this is by using active listening skills. “This means hearing every word, noting the emotion behind the word, hearing the tone of voice, observing facial expressions, dress, posture and demeanor, being aware of one’s own emotions and reactions, and being able to follow the patient’s story plus the unspoken story, the subtheme, that underlies the story” (Branch, 2014, p.3.) This helps to add to their safe, secure, and comfortable feelings. Individuals like to be heard, remembered, understood, and have relations with their particular physician. A difference in one’s culture could alter effective communication and understanding them would allow them for more appreciation for the doctor. Thus, the patient is more likely to follow the doctor’s instructions. However, there are barriers and challenges...

Introduction to APA Style What is APA style? APA is an editorial style recommended by the American Psychological Association (APA) for preparing scholarly manuscripts and student research papers. It is the standard format for papers, articles, and books in the social sciences. In addition to providing standardized rules for formatting a paper (margins, line spacing, etc.), APA style provides a consistent method for citing ideas, quotations, facts, and paraphrases borrowed from other sources. This standardized format for identifying sources used in a paper makes the paper more credible and ensures that other authors are given credit for their original thoughts and ideas. Are there other styles? Just as APA style is used by teachers in the social sciences, teachers in the arts and humanities may ask you to format your paper in MLA style; a history professor may ask you to use Chicago or Turabian; a biology professor might want you to submit a paper in yet another format. There are slight differences between the formats...

On the first line of the abstract page, center the word “Abstract” (no bold, formatting, italics, underlining, or quotation marks). Beginning with the next line, after writing your paper, write a concise summary of the key points of your research. Do not indent. Your abstract should contain at least your research topic, research questions, participants, methods, results, data analysis, and conclusions. You may also include possible implications of your research and future work you see connected with your findings. Your abstract should be a single paragraph double-spaced. An abstract should be between 150 and 250 words. TITLE OF PAPER !3 Title of Paper The first part of the paper is called the “Introduction” section, yet it does not have a heading that actually says “Introduction.” Instead, the title of the paper is typed at the top of the first page (be sure to center the title, but do not put it in bold). In this section you would often start with a topic paragraph that introduces the problem under study. Introductions are designed to grab the attention of the reader, set up the topic you will be writing about, and state your thesis for the paper. The importance of the topic should be pretty clear from the first paragraph or two of the Introduction. Section 2.05 of the...

...writing academic papers, particularly in the field of science. The APA writing style has evolved through time and several changes have been adapted in response to the electronic information age. What follows are some useful pointers for those of you who're tasked to write a paper using the APA format. In general, your paper should follow these formatting guidelines: * Margin. Although formerly, the required measurement for margins is 1 ½ inch, now, it is required that margins on all sides (top, bottom, left, right) should each just measure one (1) inch. * Font Size and Type. Font for text all through out the paper should be 12-pt., Times New Roman. * Spacing. Double-space for the whole document, including appendices, footnotes, tables and figures. For spacing after punctuation, space once after commas, colons and semicolons within sentences and space twice after punctuation marks that end sentences. * Text Alignment and Indentation. Alignment should be flush left, or aligned to the left creating uneven right margin. * Running Head and Short Title. Running heads are short titles located at the top of each of the pages of your article. Short Titles on the other hand are two to three-word derivation of the title of your paper. Running heads should not be confused with Short Titles. Running heads are typed flush left at the top of all pages while Short Titles are typed flush right. Running Heads are not necessary for high school and collegiate papers unless required...
