Childhood Moments: On June 7, 1943 the Beyer family added a hardworking, strong, caring son and brother named Tom Beyer. He grew up as the middle child between his two brothers, Bill and Bob. His older brother Bill, who is nine years older than Tom, was someone that Tom looked up to as a young kid because he went to college and was in the army.
Tom spent his early childhood going to school and playing with his best friends. He remembers these moments as always fun, even when his friend’s dad would put them to work on their farm. Tom spent his happiest moments of his childhood with his brothers and his dad hunting and fishing. He even remembers catching his first gigantic fish, a four and a half pound small mouth bass. Coming out of the army, Tom didn’t have many adjustment issues as quite a few people coming back from the service during that time did. Although, some of his memories from that time still disturb him. “It’s something in the past that I would like to not experience again. Tom Beyer was also a student council advisor at Ashwaubenon for twenty-five years. He also helped out in the tech-ed department and math, which he says was like teaching in Spanish. Overall, he says that teaching “was a lot of fun”.
Family:
On December 22,1972 Joyce and Tom Beyer’s family added a little girl named Jennifer. Four years later on the 30th of January 1976 they were blessed with a little boy named Steve. Tom truly loves his family, and everything that they do together. Their whole family enjoys fishing on their boat the “Jenny Marie”. Tom now is a grandpa to three grandchildren who he loves dearly. He greatly enjoys going fishing, collecting maple syrup, and doing many other things with his grandchildren.
