Tosin Aoyedeji was born on August 11 1991 and is 27 years old. She has seven brothers and sisters and is the eldest in her family. Tosin comes from Nigeria which consists of 327 tribes. “Freedom of religion is enshrined in the Australian constitution. Australia is a stable democracy with freedom of speech, freedom to travel, equality for all and access to an independent legal system.” (Day, 2017) These were certainly pull factors for Tosin. She and her husband preferred Australia to England as Australia creates a serene environment for learning and career opportunities. It was also recommended to them by a friend. Although Australia still has crime, it has a reduced rate compared to other countries they could choose. Australia provides better education and is a safer environment for children.

Tosin and her husband aren’t Australian citizens yet but they plan on pursuing this process. Tosin and Tunde have only been in Australia for just over one year and to be citizens, they need to be living in their own home for at least four years. Not all visas lead to citizenship and the visa that the Aoyedeji family have allows them to live in Australia but does not include the benefits of citizenship.
