A toxic leader has a combination of a self-centered attitude, motivation, and behavior. This type of leadership ultimately has adverse effects on the organization, its employees, and mission performance. Therefore, a toxic leader lacks concern for others and the organization (Wilson, 2014). There are five dimensions of the Toxic Leadership Theory, abusive supervision, authoritarian leadership, narcissism, unpredictability, and self-promotion (M. Bell, personal communication, April 7, 2018). Our boss in this scenario is verbally abusive to her subordinates. Furthermore, she constantly changes the rules for certain employees.
