Abstract
The journal that I selected deals with Union impact on the effective adoption of High Performance Work Practices. This is pertinent information for me because my area of study is Human Resource Development. Knowing this information is very important because much of my future will be dealing with these people and developing them. The journal researches the effect that Unions have on the performance of employees, which as a result affects the performance of a business and even an industry. It explains that with a healthy relationship between Unions and business management, both parties can flourish and succeed together. This is done through a series human development courses and training that are aimed at enhancing worker capacities. Also Unions can offer a third party voice that is impartial and objective to workers as well as employers. Unfortunately may times employers of corporations do not value Unions and disagree with them because many times they are costly to a business and serve no purpose to them. Throughout this journal these reasons are researched and analysed.
Critique
For many years I have believed that Unions are a detriment to our economy and impede the free market system, this is mainly because they are a drain on large and small business. Union leaders constantly fight business owners to pay employees
