NETWORK MARKETING

In today’s generation, there is an extraordinary amount of consumer products that are booming on the market. They range from technological advances, to clothing, and ironically even to food. Take a look at the rise in pyramid companies like Herbalife and Vemma. These products are highly overlooked as being successful, I for one, can say I am guilty of that myself. Statistics show that exactly fifty-three percent of undergraduate college students are finding minimum wage employment to not only support themselves at the current time, but as well as to build a bank account to pay off future student debts incurred. The successful consumer product that I researched gives these students another option. An option that will not only give them the current financial support they need, but the security in knowing their college loans without a doubt will be paid. (Worre) This successful consumer product on today’s market is Vemma. Vemma is an acronym for Vitamins, Essential, Minerals, Mangosteen, and Aloe Vera. (Vemma) Based out of Scottsdale, Arizona, the company has been around for about 8 years now and was founded by a young man named B.K. Boreyko. Both of Boreyko’s parents died of heart disease and lung cancer. He was so affected and inspired, as many would be, that he wanted to find healthy alternatives for a current generation becoming dependent on unhealthy consumer products such as Red bull and Monster Energy Drinks as well as vitamin supplements like gummy bears and chewing gum that do not typically work well. This being said, Boreyko came out with a once a day liquid multi-vitamin that was originally marketed towards adults. It took him and his colleagues that got on board with his new start-up company about five years to reach one hundred million dollars in sales. That was good, however not great. They researched and saw that about eighty-five percent of high school and college students relied heavily on those energy drinks previously mentioned. On top of relying on these drinks for energy purposes, kids were also using them as a recreational drink to chase and mix with alcoholic substances, which is far from safe. Vemma thus decided to take that once-a-day liquid multivitamin, mix it with purified water, natural caffeine and green tea and came out with the energy drink called Verve. (Achieve) Besides its generic ingredients, Verve and Vemma’s other multivitamin products have many other ingredients and benefits, which help make it such an attractive product on today’s market. The liquid multivitamin formula includes twelve full spectrum vitamins including antioxidants. It also includes Phytonutrients, which are a blend of powerful plant and natural ingredients that help promote good health. The Mangosteen, which is a part of the acronym, provides the highest quantities of xanthones found in nature. The organic aloe vera provides the body with simple beneficial effects and the organic green tea adds hydration and antioxidant benefits. These ingredients all together work each day to support the immune system, reduce tiredness and fatigue, protect DNA, proteins, and lipids from damage, and maintain healthy skin, teeth, bones, and hair. (Vemma) Along with Vemma’s vitamins and energy drinks are other products as well. Its Thirst is a natural hydration added to water that replenishes the body with an advanced electrolyte, carbohydrate, and amino acid blend plus the Vemma formula listed above. Another product is the Bod-e Shake Bag. This is a protein shake in Vanilla and Chocolate with sixteen muscle-building proteins, eight grams of fiber, and seven hundred milligrams of omega-3 as well as the formula. The last product Vemma offers is the Bod-e Burn, Rest, & Cleanse. This is a weight management drink for bedtime, on the go, and preparing for change, which includes the formula as well. (Vemma) Now how, might one ask, will a college student become financially stable from consuming Vemma’s most popular product, the Verve energy drink? This fact also ties into its growing success rate. Vemma Verve uses a different type of marketing tactic to sell their product to their targeted demographic. Consumers of this product find consumers; which can also be known as network marketing. This is much like Amway, Mary Kay, and Avon back in the 1980’s throughout the early 2000’s. Back in those times, these companies and products were decently successful just by consumer’s word-of-mouth. (Harris) Now today’s generation is best known for its large dependability on social networking. They use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and growing up, they used AOL Instant Messenger and Myspace, which have prepared them to adapt to the new and upcoming social media fads that they see today. Boreyko saw this as a marketing opportunity for his current consumers and as a hiring opportunity for his vast growing company all while benefiting not only him, but also the people buying his product. Why not put Verve in the hands of kids that already use social networking and are already drinking these energy drinks, and just transfer those same dollars that his company would spend already marketing his drink into something that is healthy and going to get them paid. If Amway can do eleven point three billion dollars in sales every year with cleaning supplies, imagine what kids of the college and high school age can do with a product relevant to Vemma’s targeted demographic just by utilizing social networking. (Worre) As with any successful product and its maker or seller, one needs to spend money to initially make money. The same thing applies with Vemma. One way to get involved is called the Builder Pack. It is five hundred dollars and comes with two bonuses, one being the Platinum Club Car Bonus. When a rank is reached (meaning once a consumer sells a certain amount thus also making a certain amount) in the business called Diamond, Vemma will pay for that consumer/seller to drive any brand new BMW, Mercedes Benz, or Mini Cooper of choice. Another option of getting involved is called the Two Pack. This pack is one hundred and fifty dollars, because as stated previously, targeted consumers are indeed college students looking to find financial stability. This package comes with two cases of Verve however does not include any bonuses. Upon signing up for either package Vemma assists the consumer with their own free business model and website along with a mobile application that keeps track of their business progress and company rank. (Achieve) After putting down that initial investment in the pack that the first consumer chooses, their money almost works in a cycle formation. Forms of immediate income to the initial consumer happen by enrollment, which again falls into the goal of network marketing. Once a new member is enrolled by a consumer under the Builder Pack, an automatic one hundred dollars is earned and accordingly twenty dollars for the Two Pack. Three new customers signed in one week are an automatic two hundred dollars and this price doubles per each additional person. With network marketing alone, the initial consumers payment is already breaking even, which is any new company or product inventor’s immediate goal. Thus one can see how income is made and made quickly just by simply interacting with friends. (Achieve) The company Vemma itself is also backed by the Direct Sales Association and I.R.S. Not only is this company shifting their marketing funds into a better off direction rather than spending thousands and thousands on standard advertising methods like billboards, commercials, and magazine ads, it is receiving an amazing amount of great public relations advertisements which can only lead to further success rates. People are able to consume and enjoy far more goods and services than they otherwise could if individuals were required to produce everything for themselves. People consume food that is grown by farmers or manufacturers. In many cases, the food is prepared by a restaurant as well. Very few people still sew their own clothing. They buy their wardrobes from department stores which carry clothing from large manufacturers. Your car, MP3 player, computer, and cell phone were produced by someone else. Our business based economy is responsible for of all the incredible technologies that people have access to today.
