Activity 1: Why International Business

How international business differs from domestic business, and what factors you would need to consider when doing business in a foreign environment.
International business is defined as all commercial transactions including sales, investments and transportation that take place between two or more countries. When you have a local business you can make assumptions that everything is going to be the same in any part of the world but is not. In an international setting many factors can change.
As mentioned before international business has many more factors to assess than domestic business. You have to know how costumers behave in other countries what their customs, their buying habits. You should also handle logistics processes for your product reaches the right destination. Being aware of the rules and laws of that country and many more factors mention below:
1. Legal Systems and laws: The legal systems and laws of two or more countries are not going to be same. Every country has their own law and if you are in a foreign market you must abide by the laws of that country.

2. Language: The translation is very important when doing international marketing. There have been many mistakes in advertising that influenced negatively in the product sales of many companies.

3. Culture: Is important to do research of the culture and socio cultural factors in the country that you are going to invest. Culture is linked with everything that people do including negotiating sales, response to advertising, etc.

4. Level of Competition: The level of competition in a foreign market probably would be more dynamic and complex that in a domestic market.

5. Economic Factors: You should be aware of basic economic factors of the foreign market such as: per capita income, potential markets, relevant class structure, country stability,
