It would be a good strategy to duplicate the same direction in order to remain competitive. It would be an effective strategy to research market requirements in order to understand the trend and to effectively position our placement in the market. The aim is to identify products and services that would prove to be of important interest for the target audience. The Products that will interest this age group are various kinds of products, ranging from hygiene, such as acne remedies, video games, favorite beverages like “Rock star,” and of course, electronics like IPhones, IPads, and Google glasses. This is why it is very important to stay with the trends to continue to keep up with their demands; Youth markets will continue to look for the next big thing. The micro and macro environment is the driving force, and is what influences the marketing strategies for the youth targeted products and services currently. Micro factors are known to be internal forces that fall within the organizational level. Macro factors are termed to be the exterior forces that come under the industry. The two of these are what drives the economy and how we collect our data to determine what is “hot” and what is not. As populations grow, so does consumer spending. As the percentage...

...Argument Synthesis Liliana Cross Post University Is technology helping students in the classroom rather than traditional printed textbooks? Studies have shown technology such as tablets are more helpful than textbooks schools get each year. Harcourt (n.d.) used a "digital version of the Algebra 1 textbook for Apple's iPad in California's Riverside Unified School District." (para. 10) Students had a 20% higher test score using the digital version than the printed textbooks. Each year school's spend about $7 billion on out of date printed textbooks. By them switching to tablets, schools could save about $3 billion. So why do schools not want to make the change? Textbooks are usually seven to ten years out of date when schools buy them. Therefore, the students are not getting the most current information they need to learn. With tablets, students and teachers would be able to stay up to date with all and any information they need. Tablets are much lighter than print textbooks. They can hold hundreds of textbooks, save the environment by lowering the amount of printing, increase student interactivity, and creativity, and that digital textbooks are cheaper than print textbook. “…in 2006, the U.S. book industry consumed approximately 30 million trees and had a carbon footprint equivalent to 12.4 million metric tons of carbon dioxide, or 8.85 pounds per book sold.” (Green Press Initiative and the Book Industry Study Group. 2008) Paper books can be recycled, though at this point...

It is the third major console release in the Rock Band music video game series, in which players can simulate the playing of rock music by using controllers shaped like musical instruments. The Beatles: Rock Band is the first band-centric game in the series, and it is centered on the popular English rock group the Beatles. The game features virtual portrayals of the four band members performing the songs throughout the band's history, including depictions of some of their famous live performances, as well as a number of "dreamscape" sequences for songs from the Abbey Road Studios recording sessions during the group's studio years. The game's soundtrack consists of 45 Beatles songs; additional songs and albums by the Beatles were made available for the game as downloadable content.[1] The game was released internationally on 9 September 2009, coinciding with the release of new, remastered compact disc versions of the Beatles' albums. It incorporates many of the gameplay features of the Rock Band series; however, it is not an expansion pack for the Rock Band series and content for it and other Rock Band titles is not cross-compatible. Harmonix co-founder Alex Rigopulos described the game as "... a new, full game title production built from the ground up."[2] Gameplay mechanics differ slightly from previous Rock Band games, including the addition of...

...THE BROADWAY CAFE BRINGING IT TO THE 21ST CENTURY 1 THE BROADWAY CAFE BRINGING IT TO THE 21ST CENTURY 2 Abstract I just recently inherited my grandfather's coffee shop called the Broadway Café. In this paper we are going to examine how to bring it up to the 21st century. To get a better understanding of how to bring the coffee shop into the 21st-century; we are going to talk about the history of coffee and how it got started, and what life must have been like in the 1950’s. We are also going to talk about running today's coffee shops with today's technology. Wi-Fi allows us to access the Internet, check our bank accounts, and read electronic books & magazines. Another piece of technology we're going to talk about is a Point of Sale or POS unit, which is an electronic cash register. THE BROADWAY CAFE BRINGING IT TO THE 21ST CENTURY 3 History Coffee supposedly started in Constantinople, Turkey. According to the International Coffee Organization: “The global spread of coffee growing and drinking began in the Horn of Africa, where, according to legend, coffee trees originated in the Ethiopian province of Kaffa. It is recorded that the fruit of the plant, known as coffee cherries, was eaten by slaves taken from present day Sudan into Yemen and Arabia through the great port of its day, Mocha. Coffee was certainly being cultivated in Yemen by the 15th century and probably much earlier. In an attempt to prevent its cultivation elsewhere, the Arabs imposed...

...9-710-467 REV: SEPTEMBER 1, 2010 DAVID B. YOFFIE RENEE KIM Apple Inc. in 2010 On April 4, 2010, Apple Inc. launched its eagerly anticipated iPad amid great hype. The multimedia computer tablet was the third major innovation that Apple had released over the last decade. CEO Steve Jobs had argued that the iPad was another revolutionary product that could emulate the smashing success of the iPod and the iPhone. Expectations ran high. Even The Economist displayed the release of the iPad on its magazine cover with Jobs illustrated as a biblical figure, noting that, “The enthusiasm of the Apple faithful may be overdone, but Mr. Jobs’s record suggests that when he blesses a market, it takes off.”1 The company started off as “Apple Computer,” best known for its Macintosh personal computers (PCs) in the 1980’s and 1990’s. Despite a strong brand, rapid growth, and high profits in the late 1980s, Apple almost went bankrupt in 1996. Then Jobs went to work, transforming “Apple Computer” into “Apple Inc.” with innovative non-PC products starting in the early 2000’s. In fact, by 2010, the company viewed itself as a “mobile device company.”2 In the 2009 fiscal year, sales related to the iPhone and the iPod represented nearly 60% of Apple’s total sales of $43 billion.3 Even in the midst of a severe economic recession, revenues and net income both soared (see Exhibits 1a through 1c). Meanwhile, Apple’s stock was making history of its own. The share price had risen more than 15fold since...

The angel was cold and felt like I was covered in ice like Otzi (the Iceman). My friend looked like he was debating going back to my house but he was making snow angels like he was having a lot of fun. After I finished making snow angels with my friend Justin, we went behind the school building to hop off of stairs and talk together. “Do you want to go make cookies now? My mom needs to give them to friends anyway.” I asked as I was hopping off a set of stairs. As I hopped down, the...

...Question #3 In which areas could the company improve? Be specific about what they could do? Apple faces many competitors in the various industries it participates in, especially on the mobile side. One of the biggest problems that apple faces is the high cost of its products, such as iPhones and iPads. Competitors are constantly cutting their products prices in order to attract customers away from apple. Therefore, Apple must find a way to keep its products cost down to an affordable price range to maintain its customers happy. Apple's competitors have the ability to sell their products at little to no profit forcing apple to find a way to reduce the cost involved with producing their products in order to maintain the same profit margins it has enjoyed. One of the areas Apple has a problem with is the scarcity of materials available that are crucial to building its products. In order to stay on top of the competition, Apple is constantly introducing new and updated products to the market with superior hardware than its competitors. These new technologies come from companies with very specific hardware that is hard to come by. Therefore, Apple must lock up these companies in order to use their hardware exclusively but also aid them in their growth. The demand for Apple products is so high that supplies to Apple have a hard time keeping up with production. Apple can help itself by investing in the infrastructure and growth of these companies it depends on to get...
