Work and Study in America

I was born and raised in China. Before I was admitted in university, I still study and work in China. After that, I wanted to get more experiences in my life, then, I joined in “Work and Travel Program” in my university so I work in America. It was one of the most memorable things in my life, through this work, I made many friends who come from different countries. I feel this kind of experience is interesting, so I also wanted to know more about the difference in study in America. Finally, I choose America to finish my bachelor’s degree. I appreciate lots of different if I compare American colleges with Chinese colleges.

I got an offer for a housekeeping job from Fireview Hotel. It was my first job and the hardest job in my life. In China, I never did manual labor. The housekeeping required me to carry lots of linens from the first floor to the fifth floor and there was no elevator in my hotel. At the beginning of do this job, I feel so tired everyday. My work time is from 9:00am to 6:00pm, the lunch time just fifteen minutes. I need to clean about twelve rooms everyday because the Labor Festival many people traveled here. In my hotel, there were five housekeeping, all of them were work in here about two years, they were familiar with the cleaning process. The first day was my training day, one of the employee trainings me to clean rooms. Each of the room had two beds, when she makes one of the bed, I just makes another one like she does. Then, she cleans the bathroom, and tells me what need to change and what need to use and clean. I also need to remember how many conditions, shampoo and body wash need to put in every room. After the training day, no one help me when I clean the rooms, the tower bags and the sheet bags is heavier than I thought. I was use many times for move them. That made me work
