Based on the outcomes of my Career Plan Building Activity, in the Work Culture Preferences survey of my ideal work culture three competencies are most prevalent, Supportive, Ethical, and well resourced. As the results of my assessment illustrate, strengths are a significant element in my achieving organizational goals. Specific examples are a secure and stable environment combined with factors such as recognition and celebration of success; and the ability to be at a safe place to work. Equally important in developing strategic and operational plans to achieving organizational goals are available opportunities with emphasis on fairness. Specific examples are the opportunity for varied and ground breaking work, innovative and creative atmosphere and the opportunity to control my own work schedule and organization. ...The work culture results define me very well. I feel that I strive in a secure, comfortable and stable environment. Then there is a disruption in my environment, I tend to get overwhelmed and stressed out very easily. I have learned some stress relieving techniques, but stress still comes on quickly when there are disruptions. I like having a clearly defined job and I set goals for myself to achieve my expectations of a high standard of work. When I do achieve my goals, I do like to celebrate my success and the success of the people around me. I try to be a perfectionist in my work environment, I make sure I have a plan for the day and any projects that we are doing to have the materials prepared. I make sure the children have fun and are safe in my classroom no matter if we are in circle time, writing, crafts, or just playing in centers. I go are my class and make sure all of my cleaning sprays, shape objects, and other thing was cause harm my student and other people in my classroom are put away. I work very hard to keep a clean room, I spend a hour a day at the end of the day to make sure my room is clean (swept, mopped, chairs, tables and toy are clean) and organized. I lately have been learning office protocol and covered for my director will she was out last week. ...Lanel Wolf March 25th, 2014 Mrs. Carr BCOM 275 Work Culture Preference It’s all about being around different work situations that help you determine which work cultures you do best in and which ones may not work as well. It is obviously good to be in a safe place to work and be comfortable but it is also good to be helpful in all the ways in which your business expects. I also learned that it is good to put more emphasis on subjects that matter in any career and with more engagement these will encourage you to do much better and be more creative and dynamic in different work conditions. I think this also helps me tremendously organize my communication strategies and how I influence a group of people or team type atmosphere. I really like to make others see that their job choice is the right one and that if you work together you can all be leaders in your own ways and have the jobs that you want in any type of condition you choose to put yourself in. I like to think of every job I get as an opportunity to do something important for people and have the opportunities to show that I can be a very important and strong influence on my fellow workers and team mates. Another reason I felt that this was so important is because it shows you what you have to be to succeed at other jobs and what it takes to keep your organization at a professional level and so really you never slack at what you do. Very important to take this work culture preference resource because I have a better picture...

...Career Plan Work Culture Preferences April 12, 2013 Well after doing the Work Culture Preferences in the Career Plan I was a little surprised on the results because it showed me that maybe I do have more skills to work with helping people than I thought. My results were under the Ethical section; emphasis on families, that if given the chance to contribute positively to society I could make a difference in people’s lives, emphasis on social and environmental responsibility, and active in promoting equal rights for all. Well Resourced; I like a well-designed and comfortable work place, and I utilize necessary resources to do high standard work. Team Work Culture; enjoy working in a close knit team, have lots of interdependence, friendly and supportive colleagues, and cooperative and sharing atmosphere. After exploring the resource in the Phoenix Career Services I realized there are a lot of resources that believe might actually be very useful like the Interviewing link where you can go and they have help with conducting pre-interview research, preparing for your first interview, how to answer common interview questions. Which I think I will really explore that link, beings interviews seem to be the toughest part about job searching for myself. I think the resources in the Phoenix Career Services are wonderful resources for students to follow their career choices and with the extra help with certain areas of job searching can make it easier to obtain employment...

...Fan work is a complex form of self-expression that utilizes components of pre-existing works such as television shows, films, games and other forms literature as the basis of these new fan made creations whilst incorporating personal interpretation. This practice is unique because it allows for the fanwork creator to voice their own personal opinions and create alternate universes, scenarios and timelines in which character from the original text would have the opportunity to explore. Typically, these works are not for profit and are not considered canon in the source that it is derived from. There is a struggle for legitimacy for fanwork creators, as fan work, especially fan fiction, is generally interpreted to only contain explicit sexual...

...Corporate and Culture Moral at Work People naturally resist change of any kind, especially when that change affects the way they work. As a result of this resistance to change, any organizational culture change is likely to negatively affect employee morale. Employees will complain and resist this change, asking why it is necessary. In order for your culture change to be accepted by your employees, you must anticipate this reaction and prepare for it. Identifying Decreased Morale Decreased company morale is not always easy to identify. Complaints and grumblings are the most common symptoms of reduced morale, but they are just a few signs that things are not right in your company. Calling in sick, arriving late for work and leaving early are other indicators that morale is decreasing in your company. Mistakes and poor treatment of customers are two other signs that company morale is declining. Your managers and supervisors are on the front line of company morale and you should listen to them during your culture change. Culture Change and Morale Changing your company culture involves several steps and processes. Your first step is to identify what you stand for and state it as simply as possible. For years, General Electric stated, "We bring good things to life." Employees and customers understood what this meant and how to behave because of it. To make your culture change successfully, you must articulate clearly your company's philosophy. Once this is understood, your change...

She’s the author of the book, The Culture Map, and of the HBR article, “Navigating the Cultural Minefield.” Erin, thanks so much for talking with us today. ERIN MEYER: Thank you, Sarah. SARAH GREEN: So let’s just start by tell us what The Culture Map is. And tell us a little bit about why you developed it, what’s the problem you’re trying to solve. ERIN MEYER: I became very interested in researching how cultural differences were impacting business people, because I found that, although the world has changed quite dramatically over the last 15 years, the discourse around management hasn’t kept up with it. So just to give you an example of this, I was just in a bookstore yesterday. And I picked up a book about negotiations, a new book written by an American author. And as I’m looking through it, I can tell that the implicit assumption by the author is that the people who are negotiating, who are reading the book, are going to be negotiating with people who come from their own culture. But this isn’t the case anymore...

I knew a few people who came here to work, and heard stories from them about how the working environment in America is different from that in India. It made me want to come here and take advantage of the opportunities out here and make a name for myself. When I first came here and started working at the hospital, I came across various cultures, but all had one thing in common, they all worked hard. There was no job that was inferior to the...

It does have to be built around ideals, employee permission to be creative, and something other than just making profit. After viewing my work culture skill plan I am driven by high powered. At first I wasn’t to sure if why this was my number one choice but after taking a closed look and reviewing the skills, I know have a clear understanding why. I enjoy learning new skills, career development and advancement, and high salaries. Also something that I though was going to be my number one skill is teamwork. I believe that in order to have a good work environment, the team has to work together, supportive, open communication, cooperative and sharing atmosphere, and positive feedback. By knowing my work culture I am able to select my methods of engaging clients by knowing exactly what to look and be able to make decisions based on the organizations needs. My approach and attitude would be based off knowledge and confidence in knowing that I would be able to help bring success within a company. In this paper one will determine how knowing your ideal work culture can help develop strategic and operational plans to achieve organizational goals. Next one will decide which competencies are essential to conducting a SWOT analysis. Last one will relate the essential competencies to one’s own competencies for conducting a SWOT analysis.
