Traffic in California

...Traffic In California Commuting in California traffic is one of the most stressful things Californians will ever do. California is at the beginning of a huge crisis. The vehicles on the road keep increasing with the growing population, but the roads stay the same. Take Los Angeles for example: the estimated population is 3.7 million with the average household having 1.8 vehicles. This makes the estimated vehicles in LA roughly 6.5 million with millions more commuting to the city for work, school, and other activities. With these facts combined it makes for one of the most stressful scenarios Californians will ever encounter. A person in California will quickly learn the meaning of time management. A commuter will have many different variables that will affect their commutes on a daily basis. Accidents, construction, and weather are just a few examples of these variables. Accidents can affect a drivers’ commute from minutes to hours depending on the severity. Construction may not have the same affect as accidents, however; it could lead to taking different exits, freeways, and roads, greatly increasing the length of a drivers’ trip by distance and time. Even though Los Angeles regularly experiences rainfall, drivers are still extremely cautious and slow down their speeds anywhere from 10-30 mph causing congestion and gridlock. Having all these obstacles to consider, a California driver has to learn the importance of time management and apply it to their commutes. In conclusion...

Summary Of Going To The Olympics, 1984 By Frank Romero

...In the image "Going to the Olympics,1984" by Frank Romero shows how there's five cars and on the very top of the cars there 5 hearts. In between each car there palm trees. In the sky, there's a horse,a stamp,an iron,a blimp, and two men wrestling. There's 2 red cars, 1 blue car, a yellow, and a green car. They look like Chicano cars heading to the Olympics. The possible meaning of the details there is and how colorful it is, is to show how they come from different places. Frank Romero might feel inspired in how there's different cars in our city's car culture. Since their hearts on top of each car it must mean that he likes or love how the cars are designed. The artist chose happy colors and colors that go with the Olympics. He puts red, meaning of love, blue and green as color of happiness. He has all types of colors in the heart....

England

...Social Stratification Classes and Castes. Class is the primary way in which people approach social stratification. The upper class (the landed gentry, the titled nobility, and members of the royal family) has roughly the same social position it has had since the nineteenth century, when the middle classes began to compete successfully with the landed interests for influence. However, the upper class lost official political influence (and credibility) in the twentieth century. The major change in England's social identity structure has been the shrinking number of workers in manufacturing and the increasing number of people who work in service industries. White-collar and other service workers have replaced blue-collar workers as England's economic backbone. Consequently, the middle class has increased in size and wealth, and home ownership has increased, while union membership has declined dramatically, along with the size of the traditional industrial working class. Most workers expect unemployment at some point in their careers, especially the unskilled and uneducated. In 1983, only 5 percent of non-manual workers were unemployed. In contrast, skilled manual workers experienced 12 percent and semi-skilled and unskilled manual workers 23 percent unemployment, and manual workers combined accounted for 84 percent of the unemployed. England is becoming a society of the included and the excluded. There has been a sharp rise in long-term unemployment. The nature of work in a fluid...

The show was about an obsessive-compulsive detective whose wife was murdered, which resulted in his dismissal from the police force. The top 5 most banned books of the decade were as follows: 1.     Harry Potter (series), by J.K. Rowling  2. Alice series, by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor  3. The Chocolate War, by Robert Cormier  4. And Tango Makes Three, by Justin Richardson/Peter Parnell  5. Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck  Coincidentally, The Giver is #23 on this list! 2000 Many computer failures occur because of the “Y2K bug”, also known as the “Year 2000 Problem”.
