Therefore, an interview is indispensable as regard to recruitment. In other words, employees don’t just happen to be found working in an organization haphazardly. They have to be interviewed before they actually get employed. It sounds ridiculous to see some one being picked from a street and offered a job at a company by an employer without being interviewed. Every organization has objectives to achieve or goals to arrive at. Therefore, the organization needs qualified people to bring about tremendous success and development. How does a company come up with the right employees? Precisely, the right members of staff are sourced through the interview. There are several kinds of interviews. However, this paper will focus on a number of employment interviews. Different organizations use different types of employment interviews according to their choice. INTRODUCTION The interview has been the main means of assessing suitability of candidates...

...2013 Pest Management Standards For Food Plants i INTRODUCTION T he National Pest Management Association is pleased to release the 2013 Pest Management Standards for Food Plants. Since 2007, these standards have been the cornerstone of NPMA’s Commercial Division activities. Of note in the 2013 revision is the move away from prescriptive instructions regarding placement and monitoring frequency of pest management devices. Instead, a more results-oriented approach to pest management, based on pest trends, inspection observations, and professional knowledge is embraced. As stated in previous editions, these standards also do not preempt local, state, provincial, and/ or federal regulations. Any service provided must comply with government regulations or statutes governing pest management, safety, and food protection. In addition, food plants may have requirements more stringent than these standards. By embracing these standards, pest management firms demonstrate the industry’s role as protectors of food and property. In addition to these standards, a comprehensive online testing site can be found at www.npmatesting.com. This website includes the study guide and other resources noted in the standards. Through this site, NPMA is working to provide the tools necessary for pest management firms to comply with the standards and raise the level of competency of pest management professionals servicing food plants. We hope that you find these standards to be a...

Introduction The Taguchi system of Quality Engineering is a philosophy and a set of tools and techniques to design and deliver high quality, low cost products in a short time. The foundation of this system was laid by Dr. Genichi Taguchi in Japan. In the decades that followed, Dr. Taguchi’s techniques were applied to an increasing number of applications to solve real world problems. The technique was introduced to the western world in the 1980s, and it quickly created a paradigm shift in the perception of quality. 1.1. An overview of Quality Engineering System: Product Parameter Design: Product parameter design is optimizing the product parameters to give the desired performance. A quality characteristic is chosen whose...

...A Review of Literature Related to Oil Spill Dispersants 1997-2008 for Prince William Sound Regional Citizens’ Advisory Council (PWSRCAC) Anchorage, Alaska by Merv Fingas Spill Science Edmonton, Alberta PWSRCAC Contract Number - 955.08.03 Disclaimer: The opinions expressed in this PWSRCAC-commissioned report are not necessarily those of PWSRCAC September, 2008 ii Abstract This report is a review of the literature on oil spill dispersants published from 1997 to August, 2008. The report identifies and focusses on recent advances in dispersant effectiveness, toxicity, and biodegradation. Other topics such as application, use, behaviour and fate are also covered. The prime motivation for using dispersants is to reduce the impact of oil on shorelines, thus the application must be successful and effectiveness high. As some oil would come ashore, discussion remains on what effectiveness is required to significantly reduce the shoreline impact. A major issue is the actual effectiveness during spills so that these values can be used in estimates for the future. The second motivation for using dispersants is to reduce the impact on birds and mammals on the water surface. The benefits of using dispersants to reduce impacts on wildlife still remain unknown. The third motivation for using dispersants is to promote the biodegradation of oil in the water column. The effect of dispersants on biodegradation is still a matter of dispute. Some papers state that dispersants inhibit...
