...| Product Analysis: Monster Energy Drink | Bill ClymerWednesday August 14, 2013Written by: Maira Khalid | PART A Situation Analysis Monster Beverage Corporation The Hansen Beverage company (recently changing their name to Monster Beverage Corporation on January 5th of 2012), was a family owned and operated company in the 1930’s, selling freshly squeezed juices to local film studios. In the 1970’s, one of the Hansen brothers decided to transition their beverage business into marketing ‘natural sodas’. This was the upturn of the company that led them to where they are today. Today, Monster Beverage Corp. has transformed into the largest energy drink company in Canada with sales of more than $ 2.1 billion in 2012. Monster beverages have always been, and still claim to be free of preservatives, caffeine, sodium, artificial flavours and colours. Although many people believe that all energy drinks contain high levels of caffeine and are not healthy, the company’s mission statement which has not changed since Jan 5th, 2012 when the company changed its name, states otherwise. The Mission Statement The mission of Monster Beverage Corp. is to satisfy consumers' needs for superior quality and great tasting, healthy, natural and functional beverages. Our beverages will be positioned as an upscale brand and will often be marketed at a premium to competitive mainstream products. ...Literature Review - Business Intelligence Timothy Sheahan Liberty University Business 600 Dr. Jonathan D. Schultz December 19, 2013 Abstract Business intelligence (BI) is a popular and growing field that helps managers and decision-makers in deciding important decisions. Over the past two decades advancements in technology have elevated the importance of BI systems and software to an organized corporate strategy and overall success. Reliable and accurate BI systems are used by many large corporations; they can be custom-built by a service provider or by people working for the corporation. This is because they are very expensive, cutting edge software systems. Past research has shown that BI is one of the fastest-growing methods of intelligence gathering in the field. With all of the attention of advances in information technology (IT) and how helpful they are it is easy to overlook some of their repercussions. This paper highlights the importance of BI in decision-making areas and the techniques used to make them. Advantages and benefits are then discussed and one major problem is described in detail. Computer hacking is becoming more popular as the future comes closer and it is a larger problem than most think outside of the business world. The conclusion offers an insight into the future of BI and identifies the problem of hacking as its major threat. 1. Introduction ...

...Abstract This article presents the role of communication research in the clothing industry in Bangladesh. The aim of our research was to show how these clothing and textile companies use a marketing communication mix for the promotion of products and brands. Our findings suggest that a properly used marketing communication mix is a factor for success in the Bangladeshi clothing industry. The research results address three groups of companies. Companies with a more developed brand name place more importance on advertising in the marketing communications mix, while the second and third groups of companies give more importance to personal selling. Differences between the groups are obvious, and these correlate to the development of a brand name. The ready-made garment (RMG) industry of Bangladesh started in the late 1970s and became a prominent player in the economy within a short Period of time. The industry has contributed to export earnings, foreign exchange, employment creation, poverty alleviation and the empowerment of women. The export-quota system and the availability of cheap labor are the two main reasons behind the success of the industry. In the 1980s, the RMG industry of Bangladesh was concentrated mainly in manufacturing and exporting woven products. Since the early 1990s, the knit section of the industry has started to expand. Shirts, T-shirts, sweaters and jackets are the main products manufactured and exported by the industry. Bangladesh exports its RMG products...

...be logical to wonder exactly how juvenile offenders in historical times were handled. For one thing, as indicated earlier, there were, however, juvenile institutions and other procedures for handling juveniles that were created in America during the 19th (Roseheim et al. 2002). Historical accounts of the development of the juvenile justice system throughout the world indicate that before separate institutions and proceedings for juveniles were established in the 19th, juveniles were often treated as if they were small adults. Even children of royal families in England, for example, were exposed to adult situations, such as sexual activity among adults, and were thought to be ready for adult roles in society if they were exposed to hardships and adult behavior as youngsters. In America society, and this may be the case throughout the world as well, citizens and leaders were concerned for children as much as they were concerned with children, or, as Grossberg puts it, “a fear for children and a fear of children” (2002:3). This kind of tension between wanting to help juvenile offenders and wanting to punish...

...China Media Research, 9(3), 2013, Zheng, Case Study of Audi’s Brand Repositioning in China A Case Study of Audi’s Brand Repositioning in China Lu Zheng University of Florida Abstract: Based on a comprehensive review of Audi’s press releases published from 1999 to 2007 and in-depth interviews with Audi’s public relations professionals, this case study identified media relations, event sponsorship, and corporate social responsibility as Audi’s main public relations strategies for its brand repositioning in the Chinese market. Each strategy and related tactics were first illustrated by specific examples and then surveyed in light of contemporary public relations and mass communication theories. [China Media Research. 2013; 9(3): 64-73] Key words: Audi, brand, reposition Introduction Audi, a subsidiary of German car manufacturer Volkswagen, entered the Chinese automobile market in 1988. In the late 1990s, or one decade after its China debut, Audi, with the help of Ruder Finn, a New-York based independent PR firm, began to implement a brand repositioning strategy in China. By the mid-2000s, thanks to its unremitting PR efforts, Audi has successfully repositioned itself from a government car brand to a premium car brand targeting successful business professionals (Ruder Finn, 2007). Since the launching of its China production in 1988, Audi was designated as the “premium government car brand” dedicated to serve high-rank government officials. ...Gloria Davies and Gil-Soo Han KoreAn coSmetic SurGery AnD DiGitAl publicity: beAuty by KoreAn DeSiGn Abstract This article examines the relationship between digital publicity and cosmetic surgery. While focused on South Korea, it also discusses China because of the conspicuous Chinese demand for Korean cosmetic surgery in recent years. In fact, China has become the largest export market for Korean cosmetic surgery. The analysis is based on the premise that there is a vital link between cosmetic surgery and digital technology in both these countries. We argue that the celebrity culture spawned by entertainment media has facilitated the normalisation of cosmetic surgery to the extent that it is commonly viewed, quite unproblematically, as a form of human physiological enhancement. The article examines the publicity surrounding cosmetic surgery (comprising media reports, advertisements and commentaries) to see how it is presented in the Korean media and on the internet. These findings are then considered in relation to the promotion of Korean cosmetic surgery in China. In the 2000s, Korean cosmetic surgery rose as a by-product of the massive cultural phenomenon known as Hallyu, or the ‘Korean wave’. Hallyu represents Korea’s media success: its entertainment products have generated enormous revenues since the first exports of Korean popular culture in the 1990s. In 2009, Hallyu revenues were estimated to have reached US$6 billion (cited in Oh, 2010). Cosmetic surgery was first...

...WOMEN DEVELOPMENT AND NATIONAL POLICY ON WOMEN IN NIGERIA Olubunmi Aderemi Sokefun Abstract This paper discusses the document on women in Nigeria (National Policy on Women). Several past administrations in this country have treated women issues and affairs with calculated levity: Carefully side - tracking or blatantly refusing to accord it the necessary attention. It is now a thing to gladden the hearts of all women of Nigeria that, "after four attempts by four former heads of Nigeria's Government," Chief Obasanjo's administration finally granted government recognition to women's issues in this country. The official document .on Human Rights' issues as it relates to Nigerian women; this document is known as the NATIONAL POLICY ON WOMEN. This paper therefore focuses on the document which promises to bring delight to the heart of every woman in this country. Introduction When late Mrs. Olufunmilayo Ransome Kuti joined the vanguard team as the only nationalist and activist during the early struggle for Nigerian independence, hardly did .anybody realize then that she had a dream, a clear vision of a future Nigerian woman, that vision was crystal clear in her heart, and like a pivot, it stood firmly on three stand posts-known today as women's rights, women emancipation and women empowerment.. . Mrs. Olufunmilayo Ransome-Kuti later joined by some educated women of like minds, fought daringly and relentlessly for these three .pivotal goals of women emergency and relevance in the socio-political...

The authors also examine the particular linkage between rational and emotional value through the brand and map the degree of luxury of a brand by assessing what actually differentiates the luxury products from the rest. This is not done in the traditional way of assessing the marketing mix (4P, 6P or 7p etc.) or examining the key features of the product but by building and managing a more integrated and knowledgeable approach, supported by the proposed models. Although the paper makes strong reference to luxury fashion, the comments, concepts and counselling provided are applicable also to luxury yachts, sports cars, real estate, banking etc. Keywords: Luxury, Inaccessibility, Fashion,...

...are still in production, while others are of historical interest only. These styles are largely (though not completely) independent of a car's classification in terms of price, size and intended broad market; the same car model might be available in multiple body styles (or model ranges). For some of the following terms, especially relating to four-wheel drive / SUV models and minivan / MPV models, the distinction between body style and classification is particularly narrow. Please note that while each body style has a historical and technical definition, in common usage such definitions are often blurred. Over time, the common usage of each term evolves. For example, people often call 4-passenger sport coupés a "sports car", while purists will insist that a sports car by definition is limited to two-place vehicles. Body work In automotive engineering, the bodywork of an automobile is the structure which protects: ⦁ The occupants ⦁ Any other payload ⦁ The mechanical components. In vehicles with a separate frame or chassis, the term bodywork is normally applied to only the non-structural panels, including doors and other movable panels, but it may also be used more generally to include the structural components which support the mechanical components. Construction There are three main types of automotive bodywork: ⦁ The first automobiles were designs adapted in large part from horse-drawn carriages, and had body-on-frame construction with...

Technology has played the basic role of an instrument for transforming the primitive and natural world into a technological and man -made world.
