...Analyzing a Website Michael Buggs IT/236 3/10/2013 Daniel Liu Analyzing a Website The website I will analyze is www.footlocker.com. The homepage is a little cluttered with too much information on the homepage. The fonts and color schemes are great because they used a black or dark grayish wood floor background. Every link they have on the homepage when you scroll over it has submenus to choose from which is awesome. As you make you way further down the homepage there are videos you can watch, see what’s trending on Facebook, they even have a place where you can sign up to win a scholarship for college. There are things that I like about this site. The first thing I like about this site is that you can customize certain shoes to your liking. For instance you can pick the new Kobe Bryant shoes (Kobe 8) and change the color of the shoes from the heel to the tongue of the shoe and even change the shoe strings before you order them. Another thing I like about www.footlocker.com is that you have a lot of shoes to choose from. They have everything covered from infants to grown people. When you select a submenu you want to go to they have options on the left side of the screen so you can narrow your choices down from prices, size, colors, and even how wide you want your shoe. I also like when you are looking for a shoe you can see how many shoes you want to see on the page at one time. It is 60, 90, or 120 items per page you can view. They way they used the fonts and color schemes...

...Casie Sumpter eBusiness March 22, 2014 Proposal for Integrated Leadership Systems’ online expansion Customer Payments As Integrated Leadership Systems (ILS) expands globally it is important to provide a universal store, shopping cart and payment methods. In order for online transactions to happen on integratedleader.com, there will be a separate webpage where clients can view products available online and add them to their shopping cart. From the shopping cart, ILS will then be able to use PayPal to process customers’ payments. Online Store From the homepage, ILS will have a link to the online store. As ILS is using the website and online store to draw attention to the services they offer, it is best to keep this process as simple as possible. In order to achieve this, ILS can use integrate features within PayPal for customers to add items to a virtual cart which is supported through PayPal. ...I feel that taking Rhetoric 102 has been quite challenging. In the past, I always enjoyed reading and analyzing short stories, and a few poems. Unfortunately, this semester because of the time constraints it has been truly unenjoyable. Additionally, the themes of the literary works that we have been assigned are very unsettling, where it has triggered PTSD and anxiety. I feel that my writing has declined because of this. Sometimes, there are hard truths that I must learn, and I would say this online format is one of them. There are some courses that should not be taken or even offered in an accelerated online format. In order for me to complete this course satisfactorily, I will have to utilize the tools offered to students, like the online...

Knowing the types of information resources that are most critical to business can help organizations plan for capturing, analyzing and using that information most effectively either to increase profitability or to be able to survive tight competition in the global market. Large and small industries used technology to collect, report pertinent information, analyze data to make them more competitive and profitable. Applying and running these applications in Accounting, Human Resources, and marketing will allow these organizational departments to grow and run more efficient and effectively. I will be taking a look at accounting, HR and marketing, to see how these applications are put to use. 3 Information Systems and Software Application Since data and information are the lifeblood of accounting, the accounting department is responsible for the safe keeping, reporting, and analyzing financial information of the company. ...newspaper or magazine editorial, and then analyze the argument via the Toulmin model. The article can be from an online newspaper or magazine, but blogs or normal webpages are not acceptable. Additionally, the article MUST be an editorial or op-ed piece – these are to be personal views that are making a specific argument about an issue. Beyond including a hard copy of your article, you will want to include the following: * Identify the parts present – analyzing the artifact, you will identify any and all parts of the Toulmin model that are present within the artifact. For each part, you will need to present three aspects: * Define the Toulmin part – define (briefly) what this part is (to demonstrate that you know what you’re supposed to be looking for). This should be in your own words – don’t just quote the readings. * Express the example – express what specifically, within the artifact, is representing this particular part of the Toulmin model. This should be a direct quotation from the article. Do NOT paraphrase this part. * Explain the selection – explain why this particular selection you have chosen is a representation of this particular part of the Toulmin model. How does it fit into this type? Why would this be an example of the part? * Identify missing parts – after analyzing the artifact for the parts that are present, you will need to include any parts that were not present, by having these three aspects: * Define the Toulmin...

...Analysis of a Webpage of the Kidney Failure Internet has grown rapidly into an immense information source. Internet resources can be used as a patient education tool and they offer the opportunities for personal interaction. Instead of following health advice and instructions passively, internet tools allow people to maintain their physical well-being actively by providing updated health information, user friendly activities, and support groups (Rankin et al., 2005). 64% of the 113 million internet users in America have searched for medical information. (as cited in Rankin et al., 2005). Many health professionals concern that the internet resources can be potentially negative by spreading misinformation (as cited in Rankin et al., 2005). However, only scant research supports this concern, and other research shows that the overall accuracy of the health information on internet is good (as cited in Rankin et al., 2005). This paper is to analyze MedlinePlus, one of the patient education websites, using Fry Readability Formula, SAM (Suitability Assessment of Materials), and the guidelines that Rankin, Stallings and London (2005) suggest. MedlinePlus contains countless pages of health information including diseases, interactive health tutorials, games, medical dictionary, and videos. Therefore, analyzing one of the vast amounts of pages will have limitation to generalize the whole website. This analysis can be considered as an example. Because I work in the renal unit, and most...

No one else has been able to provide customer care services, installation of software prior to shipment (if software is sent to QMC prior) as well as selling computer parts, laptops, and full systems. For this reason alone, customers consider QMC a cut above the rest. Through careful market analysis we have finally determined who our target audience is. Now before I go into more detail, obtaining the information was no easy feat. for our marketing department. Basically they went through the local census countless times, sent out intricate marketing surveys that isolated the consumers by their computer use and finally by the analyzing all the final sales at our local stores by age group . A lot of man hours went into just finding the target audience but it was well worth it. Our target audience is composed of the college students, small business owners, and PC enthusiasts. Although it is a broad audience, it can still be segmented in a way that will benefit all parties. What I propose we do is run our ad campaign by having different content on each medium and showcasing our most popular...

...The process of analyzing the rhetorical devices employed in websites has opened our eyes to the ubiquity of these devices throughout the websites of media outlets. These outlets, including social media websites like Twitter and news sites like CNN, are where modern day American citizens get their information from. A lot of biased websites, like Fox News and Breitbart, use specific rhetorical appeals on their webpage to evoke reactions in their readers and convince them that certain falsehoods are reality. For example, Breitbart News often uses inflammatory rhetoric to allow the emotional reactions of its readers to outweigh the logical ramifications of the content of the articles. Studying and writing about how these rhetorical devices affect...

...III. METHODOLOGY The system presented in this paper is designed to detect abnormal user behaviour. The goal of the system is to detect a DDoS attack to a HTTP server. Usually, user’s browsing behaviours are made up of a series of webpages which consists of and HTML document and some in-lne object which comprises a huge number of web documents and hyperlinks and the way a user accesses the web pages. Regarding the first factor, the Web site can be best characterized by analyzing the connectivity of the Web pages and the number of the in-line objects in each page. Based on this connectivity, a Web user can follow a series of links to browse the Web site, by either clicking the hyperlinks or typing the URLs. Because user’s request are responded to differently from target web servers, This may lead to different logs for the same page being accessed by different users or through different paths. With regard to the second factor, the browsing behaviors are determined by the way users access Web pages, i.e., which Web pages they choose and in which order. In considering the factors described above, we now introduce our User Web browsing behviour monitoring model(propriotory logfile). When a logged in user click a hyperlink pointing to a page, the browser send out a number of request for the page and its contents. A logfile which is hidden from the user records the HTTTP (GET and POST) request of the user's click behaviour and activities performed on the web application. This log...
