Marketing Plan for Budweiser

...Marketing Plan for Budweiser 2012 Submitted by: Submitted to: August 17, 2012 Budweiser Executive Summary The current business environment for a piece of the beer industry market is very competitive. Breweries must compete against other breweries, both large and small to remain a viable player in the sale of their beer. Budweiser is a product produced by Anheuser-Busch, an American brewery founded in St. Louis in the mid 1800’s. The intention of the following marketing plan is to not only continue to add to the legacy of Budweiser, but to re-energize the consumer’s appetite for Budweiser and increase the market share of the product. The formula for Budweiser is over 130 years old. The recipe has a unique blend of barley malt, brewer’s rice, yeast, water, and hops. These same five ingredients are what still goes into Budweiser today. We will promote how after 130 years the tried and true tradition of these five ingredients are the building blocks that give Budweiser its uncompromised flavor. In addition to the five ingredients, the seven steps in brewing Budweiser remain the same today. The seven steps are milling, mashing, straining, the brewkettle, primary fermentation, beechwood aging, and finishing (Budweiser Anheuser-Busch). Using the beechwood aging process allows more interaction between the beer and the yeast. This is the unique formulation that has propelled Budweiser into the staple beer which...

Millerscoors vs Anheuser-Busch

...MillerCoors vs. Anheuser-Busch Salman Boer Carly Gorka Stephanie Kalin Kenny Koelling Felipe Naranjo Nizam Qutubuddin Executive Summary The beer industry in the United States is an extremely competitive one. For years, the industry has been solely dominated by one contender, Anheuser Busch. However, large brewers have always been looking for opportunities to extend their reach in the industry and gain more market share. Miller Brewing Company and Coors Brewing Company have been historical staples of the American beer industry since the nineteenth century. These companies merged with international giants South African Breweries and Molson, respectively, in efforts to better compete in the United States brewing industry. However, they still could not manage to take a share of the Anheuser Busch Empire. SABMiller and Molson Coors saw an opportunity in forming a joint venture that would be able to successfully compete with Anheuser Busch in the beer industry, and in 2008, created a third company called MillerCoors. The creation of MillerCoors was a success. Since the creation of the company, in June 2008, MillerCoors has been very profitable and has enjoyed steady growth in their market share. They have done this by integrating innovation as a major goal in their products, providing them with a certain level of differentiation, while reducing costs through the exploitation of synergies that exist in their different processes. MillerCoors was one of the very...

Coor's Light Promotion Plan

...08 Fall Promotional Plan Executive Summary Naturally brewed with no added preservatives in Golden, Colorado, the heart of the Rockies, Coors Light is the eighth leading beer brand in the world. As Molson Coors’ largest brand, the new parent company after the 2005 merger, Coors Light has established itself as the biggest selling brand in both the US and Canada. The merger, however, left the company heavily indebted and with limited capital suffered a loss of partnering and sponsorship for major sporting events. Coors Light has worked extremely hard to maintain the positioning as ‘The Worlds Most Refreshing Beer” withstanding the susceptibility the brand faces with only a single brewing site and third party distributors. This promotion plan includes the following objectives for the upcoming year: * To attract non-users and create brand awareness among 90% of females aged 21-30 seeking a refreshing tasting light beer, * To retain the 18-24 year old male target currently held by Coors Light. * To engage the mobile community through the use of Mobile Insider, connecting the brand to consumers. The objectives should be met through various promotional activities tied closely to the company’s long-standing brand image, and mobile promotions to increase accuracy in reaching target markets. Over the next 12 months it is recommended that Coors Light continue to use the Maxim Golf Experience to maintain the current target...

The Marketing of Samuel Adams Beer

...MRKT 5000 Marketing September 04, 2011 Jim Koch And The Marketing of Samuel Adams Beer Executive Summary Currently, the United States beer market is segmented into many segments. The two largest domestic brewers, brewers located within the United States, are Anheuser-Busch and Miller. These two companies control 50 percent and 29 percent of domestic beer sales, respectively. With 80 percent of the beer market controlled by the two megabrewers the United States is a tough environment for a small craft brewer like Samuel Adams to survive. The U.S. population is over 311 million people, the world’s third largest population after China and India. American consumes nearly 200 million barrels of beer a year, or 20 gallons per person, second only to China which has four times the amount of people the United States. Samuel Adams Boston Lager is brewed by the Boston Beer Company and founded by 1984 by Jim Koch using his great–great–grandfather’s 1870 beer recipe. Due to the economic downturn and other environmental forces the general beer market has been flat in recent years, yet quality craft beers like Samuel Adams has seen double-digit growth. The craft brewing industry has had a strong growth curve over the past decade and Samuel Adams has been positioned perfectly to capture this momentum. Technological advances have been a positive development for the Samuel Adams brewing and packaging...

Aldrige Beer

...ALRIDGE BREWING COMPANY Craft Brewing Goes Public In August 1995, Paul Shipman, the CEO of Alridge Brewing (AB) prepared himself to enter uncharted territory. A craft brewing operation had never before been taken public in the United States, and he and his management team were about to do just that. Sure, there were massive large-batch breweries like Anheuser-Busch and Miller Brewing Company that were profitable, publicly traded firms—but there was something different about Alridge: it embodied the ethos and grassroots beginnings of the microbrew movement, and Shipman was confident that widespread market demand for craft beer was set to explode. He and the team had steadily developed their premium-quality handmade ales for nearly fifteen years, and their loyal customer base was strong. In the last year alone, he’d forged alliances with both Starbucks (for the purposes of co- branding a coffee- flavored brew) and A-B that had purchased a capped 25% interest in AB in exchange for access to its national distribution networks and accounting systems. Shipman had overseen significant capacity increases, with plans on the horizon for yet another brewery in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He had worked hard to position AB favorably for expansion, and the public offering would provide the necessary capital. But how would the “microbrew” feel of AB translate to the largescale commercialization and growth pressures of the open market? Producing and distributing microbrews on a large scale...

Executive Summary

...EXECUTIVE SUMMARY A few concepts that I chose from chapter 10 to focus on are executive succession: insiders versus outsiders, problems in retrenchment, managing diverse cultures following an acquisition, and total quality management (TQM). Strategy implementation is an important step that requires staffing and directing and puts strategy into action. According to McCarthy 'strategy implementation may be said to consist of securing resources, organizing these resources, and directing the use of these resources within and outside the organization.' The concept executive succession, is an integral part to a company. Whether to hire an outside or inside manager is better for replacement within a company depends on the circumstances of the company. If a company is doing well, then hiring someone from the inside would improve performance. If a company is on thin ice, hiring an outsider can save the company. Studies have shown that hiring someone from the inside results in better performance than hiring someone from the outside. I've learned that steps for top-management succession is exceptionally critical to a company and can stabilize its performance from sinking below average. A great CEO needs the experience, skills and expertise. Before my research and analysis, I believed that right CEO is one who's been working for the company for long time because of the amount of knowledge captivated during his/her years. However, that's not always the right choice because of circumstance...
