...I am writing about my former company, Avery Dennison Office Products UK, manufacturers, marketers, and distributors of Avery branded, and own brand products. The route to market is complex as there are many distribution levels involved. The route consists of selling to distributors, wholesaler, retailers, superstores, mail order companies, dealers, and contract stationers. They all continue to sell to their customers, and the end users. We also exported goods to inter-companies of Avery Office Products, all over the world. Losing one wholesaler, through poor service, would have a massive impact, and cost the company tens of thousands of pounds. Avery produced own brand products for stationery retailers, such as Office World, and Staples, who each have between 60 and 80 stores UK wide. Losing one of these retail superstore own brand contracts, would mean dramatic financial loses. Avery has created a strong tradition of quality, service, and innovation, and strives for customer service excellence. ...Dear Ken Higgins, I work for Avery Dennison’s Graphics Division and we attended the International Sign Association Expo trade show in Las Vegas on the dates January 20-22, 2012. During our time at the trade show, we ran into a few issues. Here is a list of the issues we encountered: 1. The phone line to be used for credit card transactions was installed in wrong part of booth, requiring a 2-hour delay of the remaining set up on Jan. 19 (the day before the show began). This was an obvious setback for our booth. We could not really begin our show until the phone was setup. 2. The electricity failed twice on the first day of the show (Jan. 20) due to a faulty electrical junction box, shutting down the attendee lead retrieval device and interrupting a speaker doing a Power Point presentation of Avery Dennison’s products. Our entire presentation was stalled twice because when the power goes out, it forces us to reboot everything. This causes an even greater time delay to have everything up and running again. 3. The catering service arrived late for a VIP event in the booth on the second day of the show (Jan. 21) causing a 15-minute delay to the event. This was a major inconvenience since it was our VIP event and we wanted to everything running perfectly. The delay in the catering service made our VIP event seem unprofessional. Based on the events that happened, I was hoping to receive part of our transaction costs back for these costs and inconveniences. The total costs of the...

...Shug Avery Our first impression of Shug is negative. We learn she has a reputation as a woman of dubious morals who dresses scantily, has some sort of “nasty woman disease,” and is spurned by her own parents. Celie immediately sees something more in Shug. When Celie looks at Shug’s photograph, not only does Shug’s glamorous appearance amaze her, but Shug also reminds Celie of her “mama.” Celie compares Shug to her mother throughout the novel. Unlike Celie’s natural mother, who was oppressed by traditional gender roles, Shug refuses to allow herself to be dominated by anyone. Shug has fashioned her identity from her many experiences, instead of subjecting her will to others and allowing them to impose an identity upon her. Though Shug’s sexy style, sharp tongue, and many worldly experiences make her appear jaded, Shug is actually warm and compassionate at heart. When Shug falls ill, she not only appreciates, but also reciprocates the care and attention Celie lavishes upon her. As Shug’s relationship with Celie develops, Shug fills the roles of mother, confidant, lover, sister, teacher, and friend. Shug’s many roles make her an unpredictable and dynamic character who moves through a whirlwind of different cities, trysts, and late-night blues clubs. Despite her unpredictable nature and shifting roles, Shug remains Celie’s most constant friend and companion throughout the novel. The person tvdrwwho impacted Celie’s life the most was the eccentric Shug Avery. She was a famous...

...CJ Saylor Mrs. Sites English 10A 16 May 2017 Zodiac Killer: A True American Mystery No one will ever truly reveal the identity of the Zodiac Killer. Facts about the killer are very abundant. While some experts attempt to make the case that the killer can be found through the decoding of ciphers, this is a false belief. There are far too many suspects and the ciphers are much too cryptic to ever be cracked. The Zodiac will remain a mystery. No one will ever reveal the killers true identity. The Zodiac Killer was a serial killer that terrorized the San Francisco Bay area beginning in 1968. He claims to have killed more than 32 people. Only 5 people have been confirmed to have died at the hands of the Zodiac. This case has been open for more than 5 decades and over 1,000 suspects have been tried, investigated, and ultimately let go free to roam amongst society as a normal citizen (Lee). ...The Zodiac Killer Malisa Musick-Roberts Student-Fort Hays State University Abstract This paper focuses on the attempted profile of the Zodiac Killer who remains an unidentified serial killer active between 1968-1969. It is believed he is responsible for the attacks of seven victims, five of which died at the scene or shortly thereafter. Of the two male victims who survived, a physical description was given and a composite was generated. To this day, the case remains open. Included is a generic profile of the killer and the typology of the offender. The most descriptive profile is of the victims and their crime scenes because there is more locatable information pertaining to them. Much is unknown about the Zodiac Killer because in 1974 he stopped all communication with the newspapers and police. The paper concludes with interviewing techniques that would be used if a suspect were ever arrested or interrogated for these vicious crimes. The Zodiac Killer Offender Although it is impossible to say exactly, a physical profile includes that the Zodiac Killer is most likely a white male, 25-35 years of age, may not have done well in school, menial profession, may have little or no friends and no partner. One eyewitness stated he had short blond hair, a big face, 25-30 years of age and approximately 5 ft. 8 in. However, this profile is a mixture due to his seemingly fascination with the press, sending correspondence and phoning in to the police his crimes. He appears to be...

...The Zodiac Killer Have you ever wondered how the Zodiac Killer earned his name? The strange symbolic letters that the Zodiac Killer used to sign his coded messages is how he earned his name (Zodiac 1). He cursed, “San Francisco in the late 1960s to be the setting for one of the creepiest real-life murder mysteries in American History” (Campbell 44). The police along side with investigative citizens have compiled a file of his history as well as a list of all the murders and/or possible murders committed with a brief summary. They even assembled a workable report of the all suspects along with theories provided by citizens. The Zodiac Killer was a demented sicko, who killed people for sport. The Zodiac Killer has a very mysterious and chilling past filled with so much information. One prime piece of information is his name. It started off when he referred to himself as the Zodiac Killer and signed his letters with that name (Zodiac 1). He is also a unique murderer, which is one of the reasons why he was never caught. In California, he claimed the lives of at least five victims and possibly more during 1968 to 1969 (Killer 1). The Zodiac Killer also challenged the police to find him by sending letters with clues about his true identity to local newspapers, but suddenly his letters stopped for an unknown reason (Killer 1). The killer was known to the public as a master terrorist being able to manipulate people (Yancey 10). In addition, he had an unusual timeline causing...

Being a member of the screening committee, deciding if some activities are considered a “sport”. Throughout this paper I will be assessing if e-sport is considered a sport and if it should be passed onto the IOC executive committee. After watching the video “This is a sport, this is e-sport”, I can put e-sports into the definition of “sport”. I’ve grown up playing/competing in sports, or at least I’ve considered them sports. The “sports” that I have done involved physical activity are running, jumping, didn’t see any physical activity. The competitors are not competing in any rigorous exertion. The do have complex physical skills competing in the e-sport. I’ve always thought you had to be physically sweating in competing in a “sport”. Most all sports I can think of are very competitive. That is if you have a competitive side to you. In the video the competitors of the different nations are facing off. The next part of the definition is that the sports are being officially governed. The sport is institutionalized which is, the process through which organizations...

...The Zodiac Killer was a serial killer who committed numerous homicides in Northern California in the late 1960’s. The identity of the Zodiac Killer was never discovered, and though there was a compiled list of possible suspects, the real Zodiac Killer is still a mystery today. It is confirmed that he killed at least five people, yet he claims to have killed much more than that according to letters he sent in. During his reign of terror, he would send cryptic letters to the local newspapers. These letters included four cryptograms, which are messages in which the writer replaces letters with symbols. These puzzles were nearly impossible to decode, and they made it that much more difficult for anyone to discover his identity. In these letters, he would take responsibility for his murders and also threaten to harm more innocent people, including children. With these letters, the Zodiac Killer also made a mockery of the San Francisco Police Department and caused panic throughout the entire community (“Zodiac Killer,” 2014). Out of the four letters that were sent, only one was officially solved by a couple who happened to see the letter on the front page of the paper. The first known murders took place on December 20, 1968 in Vallejo, California. The victims were Betty Lou Jensen, a sixteen-year-old female, and David Faraday, a seventeen-year-old male. As the story goes, they were sitting in their car at a lake when the Zodiac Killer approached them. David Faraday was shot in...
